Not quite right.....
You could be right, but my description was on the basis of what we used. Australian immigration website should definitely be checked.

Website does not work.

Why don't you take easier path and apply for prospective partner visa or temporary partner visa? You will need to get a letter from a celebrant for 1st one and fill out myriad of forms for latter.
-
They are looking for following to approve the application:
1. Evidence of ongoing nature of relationship (Photos, phone bills, chat/skype history)
2. Availability of funds for support (your Stat Dec for support, your bank statement, your work contract, possibly last tax return and her bank statement).
3. Reason for going to Aus (a letter of invitation from you, also mention in the form that you have limited time to go to Thailand and she can visit you during her work holidays etc)
4. Reason for her not skipping visa i.e. guarantee that she will return to Thailand (letter from her work, her house book etc). This will be asked during her interview over the phone too.
You are trying to show that both of you have spent time together. So I would definitely include photos from different times. Also include other pages of your passport showing the trips you took in past 4 years. I also included copy of some phone bills showing the calls made to her, some records of chatting and skype history to show continuous communication.
Visa officer also wants to see the reason for her to come back to Thailand to avoid any issues with her skipping visa. So, include a letter from her employer.
Her bank statement may not be that important as you will support her (include that in the Stat Dec), but still include her bank statement and possibly her house registration document (Taa Bian book). Also include your bank statement showing enough funds. I also included a copy of my previous Tax Return. Get all your documents certified.
Do not mention anything about her plans to move to Aus permanently as it will negatively impact her application. They will ask this during a phone call too. If you want tourist visa, then make sure to explain that she is not planning to stay permanently in Aus.
Also include copy of her ID. It will be worth mentioning that she will also get a travel insurance.
Have a look at this website that provide detailed info for visa application as well as other things that you need to consider.
(Edit: link to commercial site removed; only sponsors may use the forums to advertise.)
We used it and got 1 year multiple entry visa.
All the best.

I believe that you can submit by courier as advised on VFS website. However, she needs to find closest GDA agent or centre near her. http://www.gda.co.th/cms/
In person is still the best option.

We are planning to get Thai passport for my daughter, and facing same issue whereby my consent needs to be provided. Thankfully you can go to Thai embassy in your country and get the letter of consent which you can send to your wife and she can use it for application.

My daughter was born in Thailand and has Australian passport and will come to Australia for 1st time. She can also get Thai passport.
Which passport should we use when she leaves Thailand and enters again? Also, will there be an issue if she enters Australia without any stamp for exiting from Thailand?

Buckaroo,
I agree with what you're saying and knew it. I meant from a logistic from a pregnant woman point of view.
There is a direct bus to Bangkok, but will need to change bus/train from Korat to go to Khon Kaen.
Thanks for noticing.
Found services being available in BKK.

Thanks for you help Sheryl. You are correct that the NT Test combined with blood test should be done between 11-13 weeks of pregnancy to detect Downs Syndrome and is advised for women 35+ years old, and will require special Gyneae specialist to interpret the outcomes. My wife is located near Buriram that's why I asked for Korat and/or Surin.
We called around in Korat hospitals yeasterday without any outcome and Google also does not provide any info while searching.
I amsure these facilities would be available in Bangkok. Has anyone used it there? Any recommendations? Khon Kaen will be a bit farther than going to Bangkok.
Thanks again.

Hi there,
Thanks for great information. I have a few queries:
1. As I understand the order of events is:
Approval from Embassy->Translation of documents->Get certificate from Dept of Foreign Affairs->Register with Amphoe office
Do we need any witnesses at any stage? In Aus, we need at least 2 witnesses for civil ceremony.
2. After getting married, does my wife need to change her identification before applying for visa? Or, it can happen later?
Can anyone advise me?
Thanks in advance.

Well they have not specified the year. It could possibly be March or early April in 2020.
