  1. Does Bangkok have any quarantine rules for intra-province travelers? If I fly from Phuket to Bangkok do I need to quarantine 14 days at home or hotel in BKK?

It's impossible to find any official information from anywhere. Checked some TAT sites and FB pages, BKK province site + FB and no info.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi, thanks for this list, one question:

Are there any updates to this list or is the information still correct and up to date? e.g. like meridian said that fotofile's service is not that impressing anymore. Are there any new stores that people prefere, which could be updated to this list? Thanks!

  3. Your visa remains valid till augst 2010, but you should have left today. If you go to the border tomorrow you will have to pay a fine of 500 baht and will get a stamp in your passport that you had an overstay. There are no repercussions, just leave the country and return after entering and exiting a neigbouring country.

okie, thanks. So only 500 bath fine is okay, as long as my visa is alive. Will cross borded tomorrow then.

  4. I have one year ED visa, which expires August 2010.

I noticed that today is the last day of my 90 days, if i go outside Thailand tomorrow, will probably get a small fine at the borded. But when I come back do I get another 90 days, or does my Visa expire because I have overstayed, and not applied for the extension. (I went to the dam_n new Immigration office today, just to be told that I cant get a 90 days stamp without asking for the extension first. What a great system!) :)

Please kindly answer quickly if you can, as I might have to leave tonight if the Visa will expire also.. (I hope not, didnt find any information about this, so I guess it is just a normal overstay and when I come back I still get the 90 days...)

    tHanks!

  5. To set December 5 as date IS the guarantee that Airport Link will open!

Oh comoon, it is not a guarantee. It was supposed to open already on Queen's birthday but didn't. This is again one of those government "projects" which never get done in time. Have you guys seen the plan for maybe 10-15 different lines for the Bangkok and surrounding area. It has been around years and years and what have they got done.. nothing much..?

Anyways, i dont want to be pessimistic, i just woke up :) . This is finally great news and it is really good for the areas along the link, people over there can have fast and direct access to the city = less people will come with their cars to the city = less traffic jam... hopefully.

  6. Yo!

I'm buying a camera, phone and a laptop and will apply for the VAT-refund. I dont wanna bring the goods back to home, because dont wanna fight with my customs officers back at home, and I will return quite quickly in just a couple weeks anyways.

As I've read this thread, one needs to get the stamp, and sometimes show the goods, before checking in. After this, can I give the goods to my wife and go to the check in counter and continue through check-in, immigration and go to the refund counter at the tax-free zone? I guess they wont/cannot check the goods at the refund counter after the check-in, as obviously the passengers could have checked the goods in with their luggage?

Am I right? has anyone done this? I guess it should work ok, no hazzle..

  7. Hi,

I am about to take an insurance, probably through Thaivisa-insurance service. Before that I would like to know if Thaivisa members are satisfied with their service, and would they recommend it to their expat friends?

(Somehow I couldn't find anything concerning this issue in the forum, only references like "see thaivisa-insurance website, they have insurance services).

So please vote and add extra comments of your experiences by replying. Hopefully this will help people like me, who are wondering :) which option would be the best, thanks! :D

  8. Hi there,

I'm a newbie here, and me gots a little problem. :D

I have multiple entry visa until december 09, but i overstayed the 90 days, today. (i forgot that its a public holiday). I'm planning to make a visarun in Mae Sai by flying to Chiang Rai tomorrow from BKK. Is it a good idea to fly while being "illegally" in the country? Or is it even possible?

I don't remember how the domestic flights work, so is it possible to pay for the overstay at the domestic flights terminal as well, like in international flights? Or can I just let it be and pay at the border in Mae Sai? Will they lock me up to the jail? :D

Any experience, help is needed quite fast as I need to book the flights as soon as possible. Thanks! :D

I do not quite understand. If you have a Multi Entry Visa. You can still o a border run. Border checkpoints do not close for holidays.

You can only pay an overstay fine when you leave the country.

Thats what I'm planning to do, a borded run in Mae Sai.

What I want to know is, can I fly the domestic flight without getting into trouble? Will the personnell at the domestic flights terminal check-in or at any other point check my passport and say "Sir, you cannot fly because your passport says you have overstayed, our police friends here at the airport will take good care of you from now on, have a nice trip, to immigration jail, na krub!" ?

Do you get the point now? Sry for being unclear in the first post. :)
