    My understanding of the High-Speed Trains running in Thailand is that they will be operating at less than 150 kph. Can anyone confirm different ?

    I would be concerned it may be a scam call and now the caller has become aware your house is probably vacant for an extended period ? I would encourage a local friend to check your home is safe.

    No problem. I have used them 3 years old, because like you it's convenient to buy a dozen at a time.

    There is still the "catch 22" situation that to apply for a long term visa it is a requirement to have money in the bank ! Si if the banks don't allow long term visitors to open accounts, then how can they complete the visa application ?

    There are good bus services from Don Mueang to the city centre and cost about 30 baht and leaving every 5 minutes.

    A house in the Udon Thani should cost no more than US$400.00 per square meter. About 13500 TB per square meter. I just built a large one with three bathrooms and two kitchens, and project managed it myself, and it cost 12,000 TB per square meter. And as someone else commented, be prepared to lose your investment, and don't spend all your money on the project.
