This is easy.
Your prepaid SIM validity is maximum 365 days.
If it is still valid you can extend the validity with 30/90/180 days.
(I think the price for extending is in the area of 3-7 baht for every 30 days.)
Turn on the phone wherever you are in the world. (I do this from my Telenor network in Norway. Telenor is the majority owner of DTac, so I cant guarantee that this works all over the world)
call: *113*180# (the 180 is for 180 days extention)
To check the validity of your SIM you call: *101*9#
If you run out of credit to pay for the extention you must log in to MyDtac on dtac.co.th.
(you must have your phone on to recieve the login code on SMS.)
There you can Top Up your SIM using a credit card.

What banks do that?
In my experience Kasikorn does the aggregation, but I don't think Bangkok Bank or SCB does.
But maybe that's changed.
Immigration may be correct that they need to see more documentation if the book you show them doesn't show definitively that your balance was properly seasoned for every single day in the seasoning period.
My bank (3 pages aggregate) is Kasikorn. My friends (statement "mirror" of bankbook) is Bangkok bank. I can understand the request in my case, since I was "balancing" on the 800.000 mark, but my friend was never below 1.100.000, but he had no transactions for 3 weeks when he went home for Christmas. We visited immigration 1 day apart, and had different officers handling the papers.

This is now ridiculous. Because of the banks aggregation of deposits/withdrawals into 1 printed line in your bankbook the immigration at Jomtien now demands a separate attested statement from the bank, showing every movement the last 3 months. According to the bank the only way to avoid this aggregation is to update your bankbook once a week.
We were 2 people that experienced this the last week. My statement was 3 full pages, but my friend’s statement was a “mirror” of what was printed in his bankbook.
The bank letter only states the balance of the account at the time the letter is printed, with no info about balance the last 3 months.
Please, Thai immigration, modernize the rules. Ask for a statement for 3 months attested by the bank, and skip the “Bank letter”, and the copy of the pages in the bankbook. This will make everything easier for everyone. The bank letter costs 100 baht, and the bank statement costs 100 baht. Go for the one that gives the best information (the bank statement).
The reason why this now is a problem is probably because the banks are modernizing, and want to save on bankbooks by reducing the printing. (Until they remove the bankbooks completely, which happened in my country in the early 1980’s.)

A few years back a friend of mine was going upcountry to visit his GF. He had been there before with me as a map-reader. This time he was going alone so he bought a GPS. We had used 6 hours the first time, This time he used 12 hours finding himself driving on dirt roads next to motorways, and taking scenic routes around lakes an hills. Constantly crossing motorways, but never entering them. Upon arrival he found some time to fiddle around with the GPS, and he then found out that it was preset to not use motorways or tollroads. I've always considered him a sensible man, but this shows what you can do if you trust technology blindly; He laught of it afterwards saying, "at least I got there".

Well, at least he didn't get busted for drugs this time.

Is that a troll?
No, Troll was the only Norwegian produced car.

If a refugee would like to leave Russia, and enter Norway he/she would have to travel on wheels.
That means they will have to buy a bicycle in Russia. 90% of the refugees buy new bicycles.
In Norway they have now destructed 3.500 mostly new bicycles. The reason they get destructed is that Russian bicycles have 1 brake, and in Norway by law a bicycle have to be equipped with 2 brakes.
Could these bicycles be used in Thailand. Would thai law accept bicycles with just 1 brake?

Before they used to charge 20 baht when you went off at Beach Road.
Now they charge 50 baht before they leave the bus station.
(obviously to avoid problems getting the 50 at Beach Road.)
When this happened to me, I left the bus together with a couple more people, which led the bus to wait another 10 minutes to fill up before leaving. (they don't leave with less than 14 People)
Thats about the same time I had to wait to get a 10 baht regular baht-bus outside in the street. But its a gamble the bath buses in Nua is not plentiful, and don't wait directly across from the bus station.

I can only comment on our own personal experience with private Thai hospitals and coincidentally that was today.
My wife woke up this morning and found blood in her urine on her first toilet call. We promptly visited Bangkok Hospital in PHS and the service was efficient, friendly and affordable.
In and out of the hospital within forty-five minutes and all for 1300 baht, which included consultation and antibiotics. No requirement to fall back on our travel insurance for such a reasonable amount.
If we want to talk about expensive private treatment in the UK then we can talk all day. Thailand comes no where near.
I am privately covered by my employer in the UK and no way could I afford it without their generosity.
That is not the experience I have had at hospital like Bangkok Pattaya,
Increase prices year after year, double charges for foreigners, upfront payment, even when you have insurance giving excuses that they can't call the office for verification so pay first or big deposit. Every charge is Ala Carte, if you have a discount card for example 10% off medication the next time the cost just happen to be 10% more.
The place is like a 5 star hotel and you pay the cost if it was.. it has no relationship to the other public hospitals.
Went to Bangkok Pattaya last friday. Similar treatment. 20 minutes, antibiotics and Paracet painkillers. 5.300 baht total, of which the pills were 4.100 baht!

This guy is a disgrace to the Norwegian military.
As a Norwegian ensign he should know better.
It also makes it worse that he is on the board of a Norwegian Reserve Officers' Federation.
Shame on you!

We will see more of this.
With the sharp drop in the norwegian currency, will the ones that live on minimum benefits/pension from Norway, now only receive 65.500,- baht a month from the Norwegian goverment. Since they also introduced a flat tax of 15% for norwegians living abroad many are struggeling.
More norwegians now have to marry thai women, and adopt their kids to get additions to the minimum pension.
Their other option is to lend from their friends, and get stabbed in the head.

I am really disappointed with Doksets father.
He used to be the Norwegian phone company, Telenors Asia manager. Based in Thailand, with DTAC as their biggest investment. You should think he would have enough connections to get his useless son off this with a few million baht payout.
He is old now, so that must e the reason he cant help his useless son.

Anyone aware of any good fixed 1 year deal available for my Retirement Extension Visa cash available at the moment?
You'll do better with non-standard term deposits. For example, Bangkok Bank is offering 2.8% for an 11 month deposit.
Can I as a foreigner get this rate?
In the column for Non Residents Bangkok Bank displays "-" (no interest).
What do I need to do to be considered a resident?

typical of what we can expect here, save face, they beat the crap out of the child or allow it to happen and then do not want anyone to know how pathetic and low down they are when they are caught. How in the hell can we expect this country to become part of the 20th century when they continually do this sort of crap, name them and shame them, they deserve it in spades and remove the little girl from the mothers custody as she is obviously unfit to be a mother
...well I think the problem is they still live in the 20th century. You should hope they would join the rest of us in the 21th century.

I did my 90 days reporting this week.
I went to immigration, got a number, and the form at the desk at the entrance.
I filled out the form, and went up to the 90-days reporting desk to check if it was my turn.
I was asked to sit down, and the officer took my passport and the form that I had in my hand.
As I was going to take out my document copies from my bag, the officer stopped me and said no need for more documents.
The officer did the work, and handed me back my passport. That was it.
Don't you need documentation any more? Do you just have to show up with passport and form, or was it just a friendly/(lazy) officer that took a shortcut?

This russian got what he deserved.
If he without asking the seller put the clock in a glass of water, he better buy it.
My 200 baht Rolex bought in a bar 5 years ago is still runnig perfect, with 2, 50 baht battery changes.
But I would't be stupid enough to put it in a glass of water (genuine Rolex or not

I want to know this too, I believe if you show tickets in and out of Thailand they will give you one.
I need to know how many tickets are required and what time period?
I have done this twice, but not since early 2012.
1.st time I had my return ticket to Thailand, and my next return ticket out of, and in to Thailand again. Got the 2 entries without any questions asked.
2.nd time I had my return ticket, but for next trip just a ticket BKK - Naratiwat, and return Hat Yai - BKK. But I also had a hotel booking in Kota Bahru. At first the refused 2.nd entry, but after a short explanation from me about the easiest way to travel Bangkok - Kota Bahru, they gave me the 2 entries.
I would guess the way to do it is to have your return ticket, and your next roundtrip ticket to be safe.
Both times the application was back to back of a triple entry Tourist Visa from my home country securing the last 4 months of a 9 months total stay in Thailand.

I don't believe this, first u must have a abiture or collage degree to go to university or not, this guy should be but down the same as he killed this 77 people on that day,..... Just get reed of this evil beingShocking..He wants to receive the university education that he denied his young victims...He is just gloating...
He has already taken exams in prison to improve his score for application to the university.
Would think he have made sure to have the necessary credits needed to get accepted.
They are probably searching everything to try to stop him, but the politicians might have to intervene if they want to stop his plans.

The victims were youths from the norwegian labor party, and he is applying for studies in State science.
This makes it quite likely that some of the surviving victims will get him as a classmate.
Can 60 day Tourist Visa be changed to Non Immigrant O visa?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I understand from your answer Joe, that I can also do this on a visa exemption, its just a different TM form, correct?
I also wonder if I have to go to the Bangkok immigration, or it they do this service in Jomtien/Pattaya also?
