"It was the best feeling I ever felt," Ms Spark says, adding that she and Mr Smith made plans that night to have babies and get new tattoos to mark a "new beginning" for them both.
some things just arent meant to happen

So after 40 years he gets $190 k a year pension . That is probably more than he made a year while working ( military i assume) Good luck to him but is one of the reasons the USA is going broke. Huge pensions and a sense of entitlement . i hope he gets to spend it before it all crashes.
The USA does not Huge pensions. Social Security is paid from the money people put in while working. The US has entitlement programs but they are not pensions. Get your facts straight.
So after 5 years of retirement this guy will collect close to $1 million in pensions $2 mill after 10 years
How much do you think he paid in while working?
$50000 a year for 40 years = 2 mill .Do you think he paid that in?

But when I, and my buddies, were 33, we had 12 years into a career with only 7 to go with a vested pension. We spent our younger years preparing for our older. A lot of my friends are double-dippers. Put in their twenty, then started over again. One of my best friends has two more years, and at 60 he'll have two pensions totally close to $190,000 per year. Our houses are paid for. We have liquid investments.
So after 40 years he gets $190k a year pension. That is prob more than he earnt a year while working (military?) Good luck to him but pensions like that are one of the reasons the USA is going broke.

dont forget to qualify for the Aussie pension you have to spend two years in Auss close to your retirement date. That could be expensive

Dont know how old stickman is but maybe he is going back to NZ because he has twigged that you have to be resident in NZ for 5 years between the ages of 50 to 65 to qualify for the pension

Knew a guy who did a pre-nup and it paid off big time when his new wife promptly jumped ship soon as he took her to the USA and sued him for divorce. Total shock. He ended up not paying a baht. HIGHLY recommended.
Yes but was the prenup done in thailand or USA.
i would think one done in thailand would not hold up in USA court, different rules etc

Did you have a International Driving Permit ? This is the document you must show them, mainly when your country license is not in English. As a French, I remind you IDP is mandatory to drive in Thailand. (as long as you don't have a Thai License)
As i understand it all ASEAN country driving licences are valid in all member countries,eg A philippine or vietnamese licence is ok in Thailand

Article here in the Sydney morning herald saying there are 63 million chinese wealthy enough to buy property overseas.
Australia is starting to get worried

It would double, triple the prices for the locals
Rubbish, show me one study in the whole world that has proved this............
didnt think so.

New Zealand could take a leaf out of Thailands book. Chinese money is flooding into NZ as the rich chinese realise they will need a bolt hole when China gets too polluted to live in.Coupled with no capital gains tax in NZ housing prices in the main city are sky high.Great if you are a seller, terrible if you are tying to get on the property ladder as a younger buyer

having just flown out of cebu for a holiday with the gf i did some research on this topic. It seems they question every girl on their first trip.
Although we have lived together for two years i approached immigration with trepidation but with documentation. I had
1. As many pics as poss with family etc
2 letter from landlady ,showing tenancy
3 7000 peso in her purse to show self reliance
4 copies of airline ticket and hotel bookings
5 print out of her bank acct and letter from her employer
Even with all this i still had to sign a document guaranteeing her return to the Phils
Do not try to bribe any official at the airport
This trip no one got knocked back but a couple of girls traveling alone got the third degree .
It is a stressful time because time is ticking on , Even after getting the ok the girl has to go back through immigation to get stamped

just to update on my D90 repair.
Sent it via DHL Tipp plaza at a cost around 600 bht to nikon repair centre Riverside bkk
They inspected it and phoned me to tell me damage and price.
To replace the TFT monitor ,rear cover and a few small parts was around 6000 baht.
They recommended cleaning the lens element ( 2100 baht) and replacing the VR lens unit (5000 baht)
As this would take longer than the week i am here i opted for the LCD repair only.
The camera arrived back at DHL Tipp plaza in around a total of 4 days, after i deposited the money to their bank.
Nikon was very professional and easy to deal with
not sure about the price but i got to live with it.

I unfortunately dropped my D90 and broke the rear display screen.
The camera still works i just cannot view the pics or operate the menu.
Does anyone know a good Nikon repair shop in Pattaya, or any experiences getting a Nikon repaired here?
Thanks

Lets say the op started a new thread and did a quick review of his meal while naming the bar. This could not be considered defamation and the 700 odd people who have read this thread would then know the place he was talking about

- Why is every one down on the op for wanting to live with a 22 year old. This is Pattaya its the norm. No one is giving Ron Wood (rolling stones and 65) a hard time for marrying his 34 yr old gf.
- A good joke about this topic.
- Women all say they want a man can make them laugh. Rich old guys must be hilarious.

Buyers Market?

it seems to me that all around the western world real estate prices have hiked during the pandemic ,mainly due to the ultra low interest rates and the copious printing of money. Money in the bank has no return so its either the sharemarket or housing. In NZ where i live houses have gone up 15-20% in the last year and they were already crazy high before that. Is Thailand same same but different?
