I just had CTH installed as well. Very good picture but limited english language programmes.

One question. I paid my 1800 baht equipment deposit as part of the installation fee. I also paid 2 x 962 baht monthly fees. One was a month's advance subscription but the other was listed as "deposit monthly fee". Was that another deposit or a second month's subscription fee? Anyone else paid this?

i am paying monthly and have to go back to England sooner than i expected and have been told the only way to get my deposit money back for the box ( 1800 baht ) is to pay for 10 months , so thats another 9 months total 8658 baht ...dosent seem worth it

wish i had just stuck with 365 sport now as it seems a much better deal

anybody like to buy a CTH cable box ?

that dosent work actually . it just says no teletex ..... i'm thinking the satelite version maybe offers duel language ? but not the cable version

Just been watching the premier league on both formats and decided to give my view on both ...

CTV , i brought a CTV box this week with main perpose of watching the footie , i settled down to the first match , liverpool v stoke , immediate dissapointment that there is abosoloutley no english commentry on any of the matches ( maybe they take there lead from hua hin cinema ) : there is no option to change the language on the remote either ..it just dosent feel the same when your watching at home and u cant understand the commentary , u can barley hear the croud as well ! i am not sure if the ststem is the same if you have it via sattelite dish ? :? good picture though and i think maybe they show more games than 365 , i even tried to find some english commentary on the radio without any luck or the timing was all off ..CTH box is pretty basic as well , there is no record function , not that many decent other channels as well and its not that simple to switch between HD channels back to normal channels , the price is much cheaper than true was though , i am on the monthly package and its just over 900 a month

365 sport , is cheaper at 600 a month , but the picture isnt as good ( i was running it through my laptop to the tv ) its acceptable though . all english commentary and analysis wich is good and u can pause it and go back as well i think , so if you miss the game u can watch it up to 3 days later , obviously u only get sport channels as well and i dont think they are showing as many games , although they are saying they will be showing FA cup , champions league and some europa league games ..

so there you go , its certainly not an ideal set up on any device , but it could be worse

which one to go for ... i think i will be trying to get my money back for the CTH box and just stick with the 300 baht basic cable channels and go for the 365 sport

any other suggestions would be great !

how i wish i had read this thread before ! , i crossed the border at poipet over a month ago ,. .. i have only just realised they only stampped my visa until the 19 of june ! i am about 3 weeks over already !

i am on a multiple entry o visa so should of got stampped until september

i think i might be best to put off the divorce untill i can get a retirement visa , yes i have heard lawyers can cost quite a bit ...i dont want to go down that road if it can be helped

yes the family are very greedy it seems , the trouble is when u speak little thai u really dont know what is going on ....

the family are probably the main cause of why we have had so many problems in the past ( loads of money dissappearing ) and the wife dosent want me to think them bad .

love is blind ! ( that is certainly true ) when u wake up it becomes a nightmare

she says she wants to go and work in bangkok now and get away from them herself as they are poisoning her mind and making her even more deppressed , they now want her to find another farang ...which she dosent want , they are looking after her son so thats a good excuse to ask her to get more money than need be !

i wish i could just walk away but i am certainly not rich and need my house ..

i am still only 47 so i would like to stay here on the "o" visa at least untill i can get a retirement visa at 50, so maybe i should put off the divorce untill then ..

i will have to go and get some legal advice then so it seems !

thanks guys , i think i already made a will when we did the 30 year lease thommo , i put my parents name on the paper should anything happen to me ... my wife knows this

she seems ok at the moment its more her family making problems ( same old same old )

mario , she cant force me off the land though can she ? and can i stop her coming on to the property /land

yes i got the 30+30 crazykopite although reading some older posts on here some people think its not worth the paper its written on ...

the house and land are probably worth about 4 million baht

i was worried that as we got married maybe the lease agreement had became invalid ?

hi guys , i could really use some good advice !

i have recently broke up with my wife , she has gone back to issan

although we were together for 8 years we have only been married since january , but circumstances have unfortunately meant there is not the same love between us anymore . so she has gone back to her family ,

we are still on fairly good terms , although there is still a lot of heartache after being happy previuosly and together so long ..

i dont think we are going to be able to patch things up

i wont bore u with the details but she is now saying that her family are putting a lot of pressure on her to take half of my house or more etc ( i already gave them 250 thousand baht for an internet shop investment in the past which i didnt recieve a penny back and 100 thousand baht for some land which was supposed to increase in value but never did in the past )

at the moment the situation is this

: the land was put in her name

: the house in my name

: i then took out a 30 year lease on the land ( about 27 years remaining ) registered at the land office

: this was all done before we were married

: can i still legally live in my house ?

:will i be in a worst position if / when we get divorced ?

she has said that she wants to take her name off the paperwork to help me ( i think she feels guilty as she has had so much money off me in the past ) but i dont have anyone else i can trust and put the name in , would i be better putting it in a thai company name etc ?

i would like to get things sorted out where i stand, before she starts to possibly change her mind.....

hi , i have been thinking of doing a TEFL course out here.

i have only just moved to los ( hua hin ) i'm 46 years old so i would hope age would not be a problem to me finding work as a part time teacher, i dont have any other qualifacations.

i really need to supplement my income in some form , does anybody know if i am likely to find work with the TEFL certificate ( before i throw my hard earned cash away ) or any other ideas for legal income , even an extra 10,000 baht a month would be great !
