IM not too bothered about the half/full time analysis as i can make my own judgements about what happened but the article is right in that these people should have done a bit of research, but the BBC is so lavish with money its unbelievable and like all govt. departments no one will ever be fired for not doing there job ... the BEEB have taken twice as many people to the WC then ITV so someone must be able to do some research. 460 i believe. Sky are light years ahead of Beeb and ITV who if anyone can remember back in the 80s should remember these 2 companies done there best to ruin football as for 2 years they refused to buy the TV rights thus showing no highlights football. (you didnt get live games back then)
Its the commentators on the actual match that get my goat .... more and more they seem to talk absolute <deleted> not at all related to the game, and go off on a truly boring tangent .... the other day one moron on astro started going on about a golf course near to the ground. Im of the opinion they should just speak when neccesary, they seem to forget we're watching the game so dont need to be informed on every minute incident, most are worse then a cokehead for not being able to shut the fcukup.
Most commentators i'd be willing to bet never went to a football match until they got a job as a journalist, and have always got in the ground for free hence they dont have that inner knowledge about football that you cant acquire as an adult.
As far as the pundits and their banal pre match/half time analysis, it's just the good old boys yet again, taking the piss, not even having the professionalism to do their research before a fat pay day and some free tickets. Jobs for the boys.
How else could someone like Shearer, equiped with the personality of a baboon get the gig?
roll on the years of when the likes of john terry, frank lampard, rio ferdinand and wayne rooney get the job.
gawd help us!
:D I think everyone best start to learn Thai then

You certainly seem to be an expert when it comes to twaddle one has to admit.
Oh i don't know. Looking at my post, #25, compared to some of yours on this thread, i think i'm doing just fine.

the tickets that the women in orange used were allocated to robbie earle and he sold them on the black market. the clown.
would love to know what robbie earle has done to earn 50 free world cup tickets though.
Well, he's certainly been prepared to make himself look like a monumentally, thick, ill informed berk during commentry on a very regular basis.

Not the best of opening fixtures, Away to Tottenham and then Home to Liverpool. I'd sooner have had Chelsea's and Man Untd's openers, who both play new promoted teams. Not that I am suggesting it's rigged, of course
Not so sure about that BJ, the newly promoted clubs can be a right old banana skin.....better to lose to us instead!

How dare I interrupt all the narrow-minded whinging with some positive experiences.
Boy UG, these schmucks are really ganging up on you. No worries, you have a quiet coalition behind you, all of us just shaking our heads at the constant negativity. If my life was as bad as some of these guys make it out to be, I'd put a gun to my head. But yet they stay...and complain....and stay....and complain. One of the mysteries of the universe....
UG has posted a number of rather silly comments.
Thats what happens when you talk a load of twaddle Berkshire i respectfully submit.

I'll go for a very dull uninspiring 1-0 win. Lets hope he plays Milner and Wright-Philips again

Argentina look formidable as you would expect any side which includes Messi. But they are poor defensively and I feel this will cost them later on in the tournament.
Good win for Mexico tonight. Looks like France are on the way out. What a shame.
Germany playing in 1st game Friday. Will they look as impressive as in the Australia game?.
They will look good again i think as Serbia were very poor cfirst game. I'd like to see the Germans tested before going overboard about them though...even if i do have them in a sweepstake...

Manchester United have confirmed that Zoran Tosic has joined CSKA Moscow for an undisclosed fee.
The Serbia winger has signed a five-year deal with the Russian club having failed to make the first-team breakthrough at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old joined United in January 2009 from Partizan Belgrade in a joint deal with fellow youngster Adem Ljajic.
But Tosic was expected to move on this summer having made only five substitute appearances for United before spending the second half of last season on loan at German side Cologne.
He is currently with Serbia's World Cup squad in South Africa while Ljajic, 18, was bought by Italian side Fiorentina in January.
Tosic is set to replace his compatriot Milos Krasic, who is expected to leave for one of Europe's top leagues this summer having spent six years at CSKA, helping them to last season's UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Doesn't really bother me too much, he wanted to leave.
Has there ever been a player leave that has caused you lot to be bothered
.
Ah yea, CR7 / 9 comes to mind. Maybe Vidic soon.
:lol:Does it concern Man Utd fans that you are becoming a feeder club for Real Madrid

Yep, well wonderful stuff, but would'nt it be better to wait to see what the teamsheet actually is?
Yeah it would but my point was/is that my perception was not so far off base as was being suggested regardless of what the final roster outcome is..
Isn't it just another opinion?

I completely agree with Philsw & tatt2dude. Not only take off the rose colored glasses, but lay off the Kool Aid. UG maybe you can BS the Newbies, but not the old timers.
Nonsense. As a man that has lived here for twenty odd years and never been scammed, robbed or whatever, i forget now, he should be bestowed the status as a national treasure.

Hmmm seems someone else besides me feels that Green should play again, so all of the flames were just that and nothing more, they certainly weren't well thought out responses..

Changes:
* Despite his howler against United States, England goalkeeper Robert Green is expected to retain his place. England manager Fabio Capello has said Gareth Barry will return to the starting line-up with James Milner expected to make way.
Here we go again
-
Barry's importance is hugely inccreased because Capello would not pick the other holding midfield who he deemed good enough to make the trip, choosing to change us to a tried and failed formation.
This is why he tried to persuade Scholes. Trouble is there's just no one else with Hargreaves still out.
You might be right there, but Scholes would probably be on a red card suspension already and still not yet finished the follow through from his five second late tackle

Wonderful result for the Swiss - all credit to Hitzfeld. They should be able to follow Spain to the last 16.
Adding to the interest in this group, if the Swiss top their group and Brazil top theirs, won't they meet Spain in the second round of the knockouts?
-
I think the owners will go for Dalglish. If he does not produce miracles with whats left of the squad, they'll look to blame him to detract as much as possible from themselves.
As a neutral i hope such an icon of the club and British football walks away. Does'nt deserve it.
-
Barry's importance is hugely increased because Capello has decided in the first game to change our team formation to a tried an failed our rather than keep the fit with our other holding midfield. I he does'nt trust him to play why take him in the first place?

Come on! Only one game played so far - things can only get better - and for the record: Italy also drew with the U.S. back in 2006. Not a bad omen - is it?
My problem is not with the players. Its with Capello's ridiculous tactical decisions/substutions which is something i never factored in. I thought he was our greatest asset
-
At least Gareth Barry is going to play.....
He is such an important player for us now! simply because we have nobody else
Keano! Keano!......
Cut me some slack, it's early, but please explain that one Smokie

Personally i don't give a toss what the scum says. It's a national embarrassment, and takes every oppotunity to crucify our national coaches and players and then has the front to try to hold a post mortem on why we failed again.
Here here. One of the great things about living outside of the UK is it is usually possible to completely avoid exposure to tabloid nonsense.
Ok, agreed. Nevertheless England can play staggeringly good football, but when was the last decade they did that at the World cup?
probably about 1970. although michael owen's goal in '98 was a rare moment of class.
We played decent football in Euro '96

I'm sorry to hear of all the problems that some people are having in Thailand, but it doesn't really surprise me. That is why this part of Asia is considered to be made up of second rate countries. I still think Thailand ranks higher than Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines. I'll leave out the Islamic countries because they have their own problems. That's not to say that any one part of any of these countries wouldn't be very nice to live in depending on your interests and involvement. In Thailand alone it's almost impossible to fairly compare Samui to Phuket to Bangkok to Chiang Mai to Pattaya to Kanchanaburi and to all the other cities around the country. Everywhere is different and with different problems. Most of us knew the conditions before making Thailand a home. Who can say they didn't know you couldn't own property, and whomever you signed the property to could toss you out and keep it for themselves? Who can say that they didn't know the legal profession in Thailand was suspect, or that there was a lot of corruption with police and politicians? Who can say they didn't know that building codes were suspect and getting qualified workers is difficult? Who can say they didn't understand the Buddha way of thinking? The information has been out there for years. I won't even go into the problems when you mix vastly different cultures and values wihin marriage relationships.
Well, that is probably the politest post i have ever read on this forum.

They argue in in the station house or court.
If you (falang) would have been at home,
and not here in racer country (layland),
there wouldn't have been an accident!
Ergo :" Your (falang) false! You pay!"
logig, ain't it?!?
No, it's a thoroughly vile, ignorant way of thinking actually.
Oh ! Realy ?! That's exactly my point, mate!
I know, i just felt compelled to sat something

Nad, please explain what you mean by it will come down to the Arse Chelski games.
That would definately be the wrong attitude to go into the new season with. Utd witll have a very tough fight for automatic CL qualification next season unless they make atleast four quality signings...and SAF won't get the money.
