  1. Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a Thai language school that will teach reading and writing. I'm looking for a long term intensive course that does not change teachers everyday, and also does not use the phonetic alphabet technique. Does anyone know of such a school in Bangkok?

    Thanks,

    Brett

  2. No, he's actually talking about the iPhone Dev Team or Geohot...

The link to the dev teams blog is: http://blog.iphone-dev.org/ and Geohots blog is: http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/

The developers say 2.0 unlock and jailbreak gui will be released tomorrow (Tuesday) for the old iphones. You can download it yourself and do it yourself, no need to pay someone or make a trip to mbk.

With developers you probably mean apple.I don't think it's a good idea to upload it to an unlocked phone.

  3. Yeah, Hong Kongs are unlocked from 3 Hutchnison. But from what I understand, you can't leave the store without signing a two year contract. I think they are priced similar to what they are selling them for in Belgium.

Would like to know too. Are they officially selling them in Hong Kong, unlocked? And for what price?

I know Australia is getting them unlocked and Belgium. In Belgium it's 525 EUR for an unlocked 8GB phone.

  4. Has anyone seen anyone in MBK selling the iPhone 3G? I guess you can buy it in Hong Kong or Italy legally unlocked and was wondering if they started selling them in BKK yet? If so, did you happen to notice how much they were going for?

  5. Sorry for the double post, I posted this message in the Real Estate section, but I think it belongs in this thread instead...

I'm having trouble finding a condo (2-3) bedrooms that will rent for a 1 year contract that will allow a golden retriever. It seems that most condo buildings do not allow dogs and if they do, they need to be small dogs. Does anyone know of any condos or apartments in Bangkok that allows dogs? (preferably in the 40,000 - 50,000 bht range a month. Any help would be very much appreciated.

  6. So, My wife and I are thinking about moving to Thailand. She is Thai and has her green card. I understand that she will loose her green card after staying 6 months out of the country. So my question is, does anyone know how difficult it is and how long it takes to get a visa for her to come visit the US for a couple of weeks?

  7. When my wife got her green card, I could have sworn that I was told to file her Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence 6 months before her green card expired, but reading the I-751 application, it says "you must file it during the 90 days immediately before the second anniversary of the date you were accorded conditional resident status.", I understand this as it has to be 90 days or less before the green card expires. Am I understanding this correctly?

  8. I'm just filing out this app for a Non-Img Marriage visa and I had a couple of questions.

I'm planning on moving to Thailand with my Thai wife. I'll be working for my company here in the usa, i work over the internet. I'm assuming i do not mention that to the embassy.

Here's my questions, any help would be appreciated

number of entries requested, would i put 4?

length of stay, would i put one year?

i guess i need a letter from my wife saying that she wants me to go to support her, is that about right, what the letter should say?

does the embassy ask anything about how you'll be supporting her? i read in a previous post not to mention that you'll be working over the internet, if thats the case, i'm not sure what i can say...

    Thanks for your help!

  9. Hi,

My wife (thai) has her permanent residence visa in the US and we are currently living in the US. I wanted to take her on a Mediterranean cruise, but I am worried how difficult it would be for her to get a visa (italy, greece, spain possibly stopping in the uk). Has anyone here had experience getting a visa for a couple weeks for a vacation to any of these countries?

  10. Does anyone know of any dog boarding places in Bangkok? I travel back and forth between the US and my condo which is off sukhumvit (they do not allow dogs), and I am thinking of staying here for the next year, so I am looking for a place which I can bring my golden to stay for a year and of course can visit him often. Any ideas / suggestion?

  11. Hi,

I was hoping some one could answer a few questions.

    Here is some background information.

I just got married last week. My wife is 24, who I did meet in a bar 2 years ago. Since then, I have visited Thailand 6 times. I have a year lease on a condo here and I signed the lease back in Janurary. She is living with me here. I only have tourist visas in my passport. Most of the times I would visit here for 2 weeks, this time I'm staying for 2 1/2 months. We've been to Hong Kong, Chang Mai, Mainland China, and Cambodia together.

My questions are, is it going to be difficult to get her a visa to come to the US? Obviously I don't want to say I met her in a bar, so what does some one say when asked this question in the interview? And my last question is, how long can she stay in the US on a visa? I mean if I want her to stay in the US with me for a couple of years is it possible since we are married? Does the embassy look down on bringing your wife back to the states to stay?

    Thanks for your help,

    Brett
