It is very easy to put it on that accident.. to easy! The (not only!!) chinese Tourist numbers drop since few years, they raise if there are supercheap and special lowprice packages and fall back as before. The Taxi Driver told "in a decade.. NOW the worsest", but real is that during a decade numbers are falling, out of different reasons. The killings of tourists at different places sure not help, but also the Reputation of Thailand in Europe, US or Australia has came down steadily during the last few years. Tourist attractions like the Khaosan Road or street Vendors, streetfood, packed sidewalks, busy and crowded nightlife was Thailand for so many returning Tourists… eliminated by what reason ever we can see now the Impact in the numbers of (western)Tourists arrive or return. The Thai Baht cant get weak in near future, that would increase billions of debts Thailand has in foreign currencies. Several accidents, number one in roaddeath, Reputation, Killings or rapes, strong currency, all this and more drive the Tourist Business down.

The Government could solve the unequality mentioned about Taxi-License by charge Grab for each registered Driver a fee. Not a very complicated process and the Country anyway needs tax out of Business. In Thailand there is NO real Taxiservice - except Grab or Uber(was). The Taxi Meters rarely switch on the meter and Need to be catched where ever can find them. The Songtaew is the same bad, walking or running in the heat or rain to find one if not live directly at the mainroad where they pass. Thats NO Taxi Service! Taxi Service means a way (call or app) to order them to come to the place where I need them and to bring me exactly to the place i want to go.

The Thai version of Donald Trump. A business boss and a general cannot be government leaders because they are used to just telling people what to do with the expectation that those people will just obey the orders.
half right…. usual the business guy has some idea of economy and how to run the business or get things on track for the business he represents ..

Yes, but to bring democracy to the people you need to know WHAT DEMOCRACY is … Basic is FREE SPEECH.. some people they say they bring democracy to the people.. by allowing just those things they like themselves.. are cant get danger to loose their benefits to hold positions… that's not democracy, that's dictatorship packed in rosa (green) paper..

Obvious Hong Kong is a mistake, as they have Bilateral Agreement.
Means Laos, Macau, Vietnam, Mongolia have still unlimited entries for 30days.
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru entries for 90days, South Korean by Air only.
If they try to stop Visa Run they should have included Laotian and Vietnamese as they have 500-600 runner per day, while Farang/Filipinos about 60 per day.
Shure not Laos, Vietnam or any of the ASEAN countries.. (Filipinos are ASEAN).
But for all other foreigners - just follow the law as we like when people do in our countries.
2 times 30 days is far enough.. means can stay about 90 days legal in Thailand par year as tourists.
Most of the other border runners are illegal working save the tax in their country of origin and
don't pay any in Thailand....

This is unbelievable !! 2000baht fine, is a joke.
Public indecency to say the least, as i posted before they should be jailed.
Jailed then deported banned from returning.
Just another case of crazy Thai justice.
unbelievable .. such a wonderful comment, can only be made by a jealous
old guy never got any happyness in his poor live..
Jail youths for this (same dump) act in public, deport, bann... ??
This act is much better then use force, hit or knock down others in
public or violate and miss-use under aged youth, even when pay
for the "service".
Well done by the Thai justice, small delicts should get same a
small punishment or just a warning.

What a joke.. the current style of driving seen in Thailand IS Thainess or Thai style! This man must be blind or driving around his country with closed eyes.
-
Thaksin is out of his mind..... He is what took Thailand in a downward spiral, and his sister did the same... Thailand does Not need his false statement in comparing Thailand to the way Burma was.... BS.... He should come back and do his time in the monkey house... He is the criminal...
I know some people will not agree with my thoughts... So what.... I Love Thailand and only want the best for it...
Hahaha.. I am shure you come from Northern Korea!

During the "burning season" they already had troubles with starting/landing at big airports like Chiangmai! Mae Sot is a ricefield airport.. :-) and the ATR planes are same not the latest technological gems..

As Buddhist usualy are very animal friendly People I don't think the northern Thais will like such a procedure in theyr Country!

Ok , but will BGK-GER-BGK again be FAR more expensive than GER-BGK-GER ?
You could take advantage of their cheaper one-way and reverse your return ticket to start in EU.
I've never understood why the airlines apparently charge so much more for return flights originating in SEAsia rather than EU. Anyone got any inside info?
You are right.... BUT - then for those live in Thailand the Europe-Thailand_Europe ticket must bee a 6 month or 12 month
validity ticket. and they are not cheap in Europe too. A little cheaper then in Thailand yes - but not a big one..
.
-
I paid only 22k baht for a 6 month return from the UK
Again and again:
DON'T compare flights FROM Europe TO Thailand with prices for the opposite direction!
And don't divide return prices by 2 and assume you have a oneway price!
You probably have not noticed that there is big difference between the different directions.
Of course there are cheap/cheaper flights depending on season from Europe to Thailand.
I live in Thailand and have an interest in flights FROM THAILAND!
I cant follow all those enthusiasts about the one way ticket prices..
The way back they walk then or what ???
I fly about 4 times yearly Thailand-Europe-Thailand.. always return :-)
But that the prices for example ZRH-BKK-ZRH can be 799 and the other way round
the cheapest one in same class about double (same period, same airline) is a DIRTY
pricing about most airlines!!!

I hope this group has a short attention span. I have to go to the embassy this week and do not relish the thought of shouldering my way through a mass of angry protesters.
Not that they don't deserve to have their voices heard. I just don't want to be there while they do it.
... I heard something about that gathering of more then 5 (five) People is against the law..??
Is that law only for some special kind of of people whom think different then the "lawmakers"..???

And those nice People sitting on the floor on the pic was found in 3rd place checked..??
Or is it just a pictuire to show how it would look if they found someone..??

Nobody can deny that the rice policy was vote buying. The farmers are saying we will vote for anyone who will give us an above market price for our goods. Sad actually that the working and middle class have to pay for the farmers who are just not economical.
Of course it was a nod to the poor farmers. That's what all politicians do of whatever colour.
You are wrong that they will vote for whoever gives them handouts. The dems tried and lost and the army is trying now but will never be popular with the voters,
I don't think it sad that some taxpayers money is being given to the poor. It is what all democratic govs do and indeed is a must in humanitarian societies. The USA and EU massively subsidise their uneconomical farmers so why criticise Thailand for doing the same. It makes good sense.
Im against the EU subsidies too, so its a principle for me. I don't see why things that won't work should be subsidized. If people are helped that have little money it should not be exclusively farmers but just people who qualify. Now its just vote buying and if you read the article they will vote for anyone who promises them higher prices.
I bet you that if the PTP does not offer an farmers incentive but the democrats do they won't vote PTP.
I'd like to see the outcome of your bet ... you will loose because very little Thai people are venal and sell theyr votes - your thinking about the farmers and voters in Thailand is very offending. I am happy with the subsidies payd to Farmers in the EU, Switzerland (30+ Billion US$/Year) because I am very happy my home Country looks tidy, green and we have own agricultur even if it is an unprofitable business. Those have brain to think know that without our farmers the Country would look unkempt, shabby and dirty landscape. The profit comes back over other businesses like tourism, most People like to travel in beautyful areas with nice scenery.. and not just hunting behind... whatever

I hope "the Lady" can become Pesident-she deserves it .But the corrupt ex generals will do all they can to block her!

Can you say North Korea...
The fact you're even suggesting North Korea confirms fool status. Thailand doesn't resemble it in the slightest or if it did you'd already be in a gulag along with 3 generations of your family in tow
How was the statement of the curent Thai 'Government' to have closer ties with Nortkorea some weeks ago..??

"He said that if an election was to be held now without any reforms the country would eventually slide back to violent political conflicts"
He would do his level best to ensure that it does!
Still he is right. Thaksin group will buy the election....Yellow will demonstrate. Red one will shoot.
In the unlikely case that the Democrats win the Reds will demonstrate.
So like him or hate him. If there will be elections just now, everything will start again in 1-3 years.

The Police Chief may have rights but so the Public whom he serves. So look after the rights of the Public Police Chief not some convicted felon .
Yes, the Police chief servs the Country and the public.
Yes, he is right and has the right to use his brain!
Yes, it is a good thing not just to shot down other citizen because of different political attitude, so not follow a killing comand (Counts for all .. red, blue, black, yellow..)
Yes it was the public will of millions of Thais that Mr. Thaksin was prime Minister and the only one who has been elected twice
Yes in democratic countries if you dont fear the public you can let the people speak free and dress what ever they like, eat what they like or user their fingers (not urgently solely the middle one)
and and and..
Thinking is a think is a privilege of the educated, with an IQ well over 100..

Sorry about my question .. where do you pay your tax on the income?? In Thailand? Most of the so called "Nomads" dont pay any tax anywhere... can also call them kind of "sponger".. they believe the few dollars they spend for rent and food are much - the infrastructure the others can pay
