  1. Thanks , already have the divorce certificate ????
  2. Hi all , my Thai wife and I have recently divorced and I’m just wondering if I need to register the divorce anywhere either with Thai authorities or Uk embassy etc as there’s a possibility I will marry again in Thailand in the future. Also, I am currently on a 90 day non imm o visa based on the marriage that’s recently ended, I’ve been told by a lawyer that it’s ok to use my current visa until it elapses but do I need to let immigration know about the divorce just to be on the safe side ? Thankyou .
  3. Ok thanks for that. Hypothetically if I were to put the business in the name of a trusted Thai friend I’m guessing it would be ok other than possibly point 3.
  4. My wife’s more clued in than me about it but I raised similar questions and she says it’s ok , we are aware of other people running similar schemes that are dodgy to say the least.
  5. Apologies if my terminology confuses things. As you can probably tell I’m no business expert ! Basically we pay a certain amount of money to a lottery agent who uses that money to buy so many lottery tickets for each draw and sell them for us at a small profit on each ticket. The agent then takes a fee and we get the profit. We have a fixed term renewable contract and we can withdraw our initial payment amount at any time after a short notice period if we want to but obviously that would terminate the contract.
  6. I believe that it’s the company that we invested in that requires (has) the license , all that my wife and I do is invest money for the company to buy/sell the tickets on our behalf and they take a cut.
  7. It’s to do with the distribution of lottery tickets
  8. Hi all, my wife and I (soon to be divorced amicably) have an investment in Thailand that pays a regular income. After we divorce I intend to carry on with the investment while my wife plans to withdraw her half of the money. My wife seems to think that it may be illegal to earn money this way for a single farang and that I may need to set up a company with another Thai in order to continue receiving my regular income. Can anyone tell me if this is correct please ? Also could anyone tell me if I would need a specific type of visa ? Thanks Carl
  9. Hi, can anyone tell me if you can change a Thai Airways booking more than once on a flexi ticket without incurring a change fee? The ticket does state that date changes are free of charge but it doesn't state if you can change more than once. I have tried contacting the airline but they are very slow in responding and their UK phone lines are still closed due to covid! Thanks
  10. Sorry, yes I am over 50 but not in receipt of a pension or regular income at this moment although I am expecting to be receiving income from investments in a few months time so therefore I dont think i meet the retirement visa requirements
  11. Thanks for your replies guys. Following on from my original question - assuming I were to divorce during the 90 day visa but at the end of the 90 days I were to leave Thailand and re-enter on either a 30 day visa exempt or a 60 day tourist visa could you tell me which one would allow me to extend the most times or for the longest period of time in total, many thanks.
  12. Hi, I will soon be entering on a 90day non immigrant o visa based on marriage. I'd like to know what would happen if my wife and I were to divorce during either the 90 days that the visa is valid for or after renewal to a 12 month visa . Would my visa become instantly invalid or would i be allowed to stay until my next renewal date ? If the visa were to become instantly invalid would i have any other options with regards to staying longer in the country? Thanks.
  13. Hello again , I took Ubonjoe’s advice and downloaded a note in the proof of funds over £10000 section stating that this was not required for a 90 day visa and I have now received my visa within 24 hours. Thanks again.
  14. I will give that a try , thankyou. Thanks to everyone who has taken time to reply, very much appreciated.
  15. Thats right yes. According to a Thai law expert ive contacted online the 400k is only required for the 12 month extension not the original 90 day visa which makes sense as I can't normally get a Thai bank account until I get the 90 day visa and the 12 month visa requires the money to be shown in a Thai bank account. Hope that makes sense !!
  16. Hi, I am now attempting to complete my application for Non Immigrant 0 (over 60 days) but the online application is requesting that I download a bank statement showing £10,000 plus in my account which I believe is only required for the 12 month visa. Does anyone know how to get around this as I have tried to complete the application without it but it will not allow me to do so? Many Thanks.
  17. Hi all, I'm a UK citizen married to a thai lady living in the UK and we plan to move to Thailand within the next 2-3 months. I plan to apply for a 90 day non immigrant o before i leave UK which I will then convert to a one year marriage visa after 60 days. Looking online I see that one of the requirements for the 90day visa is a bank statement to show that you have enough money to cover your stay but I cant find a recommended figure to show. Can anyone help please? Also can anyone advise how long in advance I can apply for a visa , for example if I apply one month before will the visa start from the day it is issued or can I stipulate my travel date when I would like the visa to start? Many Thanks.
