I use online banking with Citibank almost daily and my address on file is in Thailand. Only restriction I have with Citibank is that I must have a US address registered for my Citi credit card. For debit card and normal banking Thailand address is fine.

Citibank NA. Used them for years, never a problem.

Not sure if the test is available but would suggest you contact Chonburi Cancer Hospital to ask. A friend of mine recently visited there for further screening after showing positive for HPV31 and HPV51 on a pap smear test so they should know about this one way or the other.

A digital smart TV still needs to be connected to an external digital antenna to receive the signal. Readily available at electrical stores for a few hundred baht but you will then need to mount the antenna outside somewhere. Once connected you can tune in all the channels.

Entered Thailand 3 or 4 times a year for close on 40 years and never happened to me. This post makes no sense. Why would immigration not stamp a passport particularly at Swampy?

I used Laser Vision International a year ago. Highly recommended with latest technology. Not the cheapest but service was as good as you will get with regular after surgery checkups included for 1 year. I would recommend Dr. Anun Vongthongsri.

I was told AZ+AZ in Thailand is minimum 8 weeks between doses. I needed to travel urgently before my 12 week AZ second dose was scheduled and Phyathai 2 said they could bring it forward to 8 weeks.

The yellow book is not needed for travel. All you need is the official vaccine certificate issued by the Thailand Ministry of Public Health which you get after second vaccine and has QR code that links to Mor Phrom App. The yellow book is something invented by Thailand and only supplements the vaccine certificate. It has no QR code which some countries require so there is really no point getting it. I am traveling right now to Dubai and Oman and they ask for the vaccine certificate.

I have a 12-month ongoing retirement extension and also have a yearly AETNA insurance plan that covers Covid and is good for re-entry into Thailand. I have read that the Covid insurance coverage should cover the length of your visa. How can this work with yearly renewable plans if the retirement extension and insurance policy do not start on exactly the same date? I plan to leave Thailand for 3 months soon and on my return in January my yearly insurance expiry date is before my retirement extension needs renewing. Anybody had this issue when applying for a CoE? If so was the CoE application accepted?

If you are travelling out of Thailand you need to closely check the Covid entry requirements of the country. I'm not sure about Dubai but I hope to travel to Oman in October and their regulations clearly state that the Covid vaccination certificate must have a QR code that can be scanned and links to a database that confirms the validity of your vaccination. The vaccination certificate issued by Thailand's MoPH, as seen in your Mor Phrom record, does this and should be officially recognized. The Thailand Vaccination Passport does not have a QR and is really not much use anywhere right now. It looks good but that's about all. On the other side of the coin, I have two mates who are also hoping to travel to Oman at the same time. One is from the US and the other Canadian and neither has a vaccination certificate with a QR code. Both are having issues getting visas.

Does anyone know somewhere I can get a Covid-19 PCR Test with a certificate that includes a QR code? I specifically need the QR code for the country I am travelling to. Certificates from the private hospitals in Hua Hin where I live do not have a QR code. Maybe somewhere in Bangkok can do this.

I was given a choice of % tint at Nissan and opted for 40% as I wanted UV protection but did not want a tint too dark so as to affect my night vision. 40% was the lowest they could provide but has proved to be just want I wanted.

If you want a high-res, good quality dashcam then I would also recommend 70mai. I bought a 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ front cam only but rear cam is also available. Easily fit it myself and has many features that cheap cameras do not have. Bought mine from AliExpress coz was a bit cheaper than Lazada but took a couple of weeks longer for delivery. Recommend also you purchase a high endurance memory card for the dashcam as they loop record continuously. Check out their website to see what they have available.

It really amazes me how many people post ridiculous replies to posts without actually reading the posts in the first place. Is this a language problem or just plain stupidity with people reading what they want to see not what the posts actually say.

The whole appointment system is a farce! I know a young girl (Thai 21 years old) who simply walked into a vaccination center in Bangkok yesterday without an appointment, said she had tried to register on the app but it didn't work. They took her details and gave her a vaccine shot on the spot. And other people with appointments were cancelled..........! Not much else you can say really.

If you want to buy an iPad then buy it on the Apple Thailand website where you can get a student discount. I recently bought an iPad Air and saved around THB1600 on the $19900 normal price. You don't need to provide any proof of being a student, just need to follow the correct website link to get this discount. For any accessories needed like pencil, keyboard, etc. just buy generic versions (not Apple products) from Shopee at a fraction of the price. They work fine.

Ordered 4 items from AliExpress in the past few months. Paid in USD with US credit card. Each item delivered in 2-3 weeks with no postal charges. Had no issues whatsoever and prices are usually cheaper than Lazada and Shopee who always charge postage.

I know I am wasting my time with this post but have any of you Sinovac bashers actually had any real dealings with the Chinese, worked with Chinese companies and spent time in China at Chinese manufacturing facilities? I personally have for many years and have a lot of respect for what the Chinese can do well. Have a look at all your belongings and see how many were made in China. You have a perception based on very little factual information. I do not believe the Chinese vaccines are any worse or better than other brands and they did use tried and tested methods in their development – unlike Pfizer and others. Also, please don’t quote efficacy results as all the vaccines were tested under completely different circumstances and stages of the pandemic. I admit it would not be my first choice as it is not yet recognized internationally which makes travel more difficult, but if I could get a Sinovac jab tomorrow I would certainly take it.

Had numerous letters from the UK in the last few months and all have taken around 4 weeks to get here (Hua Hin). Thailand to the UK by air mail is much quicker. Recent letters have take 10-14 days. Use standard registered post which is not expensive for normal letters and use the online tracking number to track to the UK destination to confirm delivery. Works very well.

I just bought a new Almera VL having tested the City and all other cars in the same class. The new 1.0L engines in both cars are excellent and admittedly the City is more powerful but it’s not worth an extra THB100,000 for the extra hp. The Nissan has plenty of power, good acceleration, is very quiet on the road and cruises very well on long runs. Safety features on both cars are on a par and very well equipped for cars is this bracket. Personally I think the Almera feels like a bigger car, very spacious and roomy inside with big boot and is overall much better value for money than the City. There is no comparison between the new Almera and the old model which was pretty ugly and very under-powered. The new model has been re-engineered from scratch. Bought from Nissan Hua Hin where I got a complete set of exterior skirts included for free which make the car look much better and very sporty.

Has anybody taken out medical insurance policies with either Pacific Crest of WrLife? Pacific Cross regularly advertise on Thaivisa and I saw WrLife post an advert for the first time yesterday. They appear to be based in India with a local agent!! WrLife rates are quite a lot cheaper for comprehensive coverage compared to other providers so what's the catch? Pacific Cross are more expensive but well priced. I am looking at full international coverage, not just the locally compliant policies required for OA visas. Any feedback about either company would be much appreciated as I am looking to change my current Aetna Platinum policy which is getting expensive for the level of coverage it provides. I am 61 years old.

I read a few days ago that the Gophuket registration to enter Phuket at Sarasin bridge would no longer be needed from 18th June. This was a comment from the new Phuket governor but I have not seen anything official yet. Has anybody entered Phuket by road in the last few days and can confirm whether registration is still needed or not? I plan to drive to Phuket later this week.

I would like to rent a standard 2-door pickup truck for a few days. Does anybody know where I can find one in the Hua Hin / Cha-am area? Rental companies only seen to have cars available and I need a pickup to transport some bigger items.
