So the bouncers beat a customer to death? Lovely.
Where in the article did it say the bouncers beat someone to death??? Stupid supposition.

And, the women of Loi Kroh are a very motley crew. Sad times, predicted to get worse.......

Now Brisbane has closed, non immigrant o multi, are no longer available. I was in Aus 2 weeks ago to get, both Sydney and Canberra advised that only business, marriage and retirement can be issued......

Hello, have already posted this issue at the Visa and Immigrattion Forum without any luck, so hopefully some of the Chiang Mai listeners might help.
With the Thai Consul in Brisbane now closed and no indication when it will re-open, what is the process to get a new Non Immigrant O - M twelve month Visa? I have obtained this Visa from Brisbane for over six years.
Can I get the same twelve month Visa from another neighboring Country rather than having to visit Australia? The Thai Embassy at Canberra states: 'Royal Thai Embassy Canberra issues Non-immigration O visa only for single entry.'
I do not want a 'retirement' Visa and associated financial issues.Puzzles me that there must be hundreds of foreigners like me, that used the Consulate in Brisbane, yet no noise! Many thanks for any responses.Regards -
Thanks for replies so far.

Retired. As I mentioned, have obtained OK for over 6 years.

Sixty/Master car rental, I have found to be very good. Ask them about NZ license.
Word of warning, with any rental company be sure to take out extra insurance to cover the excess!

Disgraceful. Not even an Australian citizen.

I think that your country (here Australia) pay the bill in hospital, but later you must pay them back.
Not true...........

I had a similar situation last year, here in Chiang Mai. Was straight up and explained my situation, we negotiated a monthly payment, now all good.
In the meantime get back to Australia, quick smart, and let Medicare take over your care. Keep paying your Thai Hospital tho'

I recently spent a week in ICU at a private hospital here in BKK. I, too, faced "sticker shock." Thankfully, the hospital was able to work with me. They had a pre-printed form for those who need to arrange alternative methods of payment. My deal allowed me a few business days to transfer the money from my US bank to here. The form also had a place for monthly payments. Perhaps the hospital the aforementioned individual in can arrange a small down payment and monthly payments.

Any facts behind the rumour that a Farang was shot and killed in Soi 2, Loi Kroh, in the early hours of Thursday 18 December?
Don't know where or why.

Seems the Good Folk at "We TV" in Chiang Mai either never got the message or if they did, they failed to take any notice of it.
Just after Midnight Sunday Night, Australia Plus, formerly Australia Network on Channel 35, We TV Cable Service (I cringe when using the term "service" in connection with We TV) went BLANK. a little later, they started to transmit some "God Bothering" show from a Religious Group, then that went off and they put up their "Transmission Break" card on the screen.
My wife phoned We TV mid afternoon on MONDAY and was simply informed that "we are fixing the problem." When she inquired if they were aware that the programmes from Australia now come from a DIFFERENT Satellite, the response again was simply, "we are fixing the problem."
In short, We TV was living up to the company's usual High Performance Standard !
Why are you in ignorance, blaming the Thai Satellite anf Cable TV providers? Have a whinge to the Australian Government who cut funding to the ABC and see if you get a high performance response!
I have been watching WETV with 100% happiness for the last 5 years.....

An update on taxi service from Pattaya to Utapao Airport
in Pattaya
Posted
Recently travelled to Pattaya via Air Asia, minibus at Utapao no problem, 250 Baht to Hotel.
However getting return transport to Utapao to catch a 0615 departing flight was a different story. For pickup at the hotel at 0500 all I could find was a 600 Baht Taxi.
More than the airfare!!
