  1. She actually said "it depends how you look and how I feel"???

I suspect many immigration officers around the world do judge a person by how a person may look and how they feel, but nobody is going to admit it to your face like you say she did. Did she also say " next time, I need to see you in am Armani suit and then if I am having a good day, I won't ask for the required documents"?  Just as believable.

  2. I emailed them today and received this reply:

    Subject: Re: Visa Extension

Thai Immigration requires foreign travelers to request an extension letter from their respective embassies when applying for visa extension related to the COVID-19 virus.  In order to facilitate the preparation of this letter, please reply to this email with: 1. your full name as listed in your passport, 2. your date of birth, and 3. your U.S. passport number.  Due to the volume of requests, please allow up to 72 hours for a copy of your extension letter to be sent to you via email.  Every effort is being made to issue them as soon as possible.

Nothing about a biodata page- I replied with the requested information. This was today (Monday, March 23) so obviously didnt receive my letter yet, but I did receive this reply confirming they received my info

  3. I gave notice that I would be leaving my job on August 21,2009. However, as I have a few holidays due me, I would like to leave the country before that date, say for example on August 17.

    My questions are:

    1. Do I have to do anything before I leave on August 17th re. cancel work permit or cancel visa at immigration? Or, can I just leave the country and that automatically cancels my visa (this would be OK by me as long as it had no future repercussions).

    2. If I left on August 17th, what would my HR have to do? She is getting different answers from lawyers/immigration so is unclear as well. Would she have to go to the labor department to cancel my WP? If so, is any date acceptable after I leave? Or would it have to be on the 17th? or the 21st? or after?

    3. Would I or HR have to go to Immigration to do anything before or after I left?

    4. If I just left the country for a few weeks and then came back at a later date with a new visa, I assume I wouldn't have any problems re: old work permit, but just would like some confirmation of this.

    Thank you for your help.

    Cheers,

    Big J
