As mentioned some cannot get 1st class insurance. Can get 1st insurance on my truck but cannot get on my scoot or my bike because the insurance companies here are weird.

Some voluntary insurance companies will not process your claim not having a Thai DL. You will still be covered by CTPL without a Thai DL. If the police come to scene wait for your insurance rep.
