My experience with so called "Hi So" Thais is that first of all, they rarely marry farangs, and they rarely have more than around 7-8 years age difference, and as a student at the most expensive university line in Thailand I can say that almost NONE of the "high class" Thais send their kids to India. I have so far not met any who have been to India, some send them to US, Australia, Singapore and UK, but none to India... Why on earth would they send their kids to India???

My experience with farang talking about "Hi So Thais" is that you never know where they draw the line. "I met a Hi So Thai girl who works as a receptionist in a travel agency. She drives a 01' Civic, only 50,000 kms."

Or, "I am not interested in wasting my money in Hi So restuarants like MK or Fuji, nope, a good ole food court is all I need. I guess I am just really Buddhist."

You, and many of the other middle aged men on this forum, seem to desire some sort of robotic set of rules to govern Thai people and their thoughts because its too difficult to view each Thai person as an individual with their own personality and preferences.

The JJ market dealers appear cruel to me. They look like they are selling livestock. The Thai girl also know that being with farang can lead to such image. Normally my friend's appearance (fashion, confident move etc) show that she is a girl of rich high status Thai family but when she was with farang boyfriend she realised that she also assumed such image. It's the "socail cost" in Thai perception.

My point is, that I have read hundreds of times on Thai Visa that expats shouldn't do this/that when around Thais/police etc as you will get yourself shot. Anyone who has been shot in Thailand has either been involved in crime or involved with the police in some way. Random shootings from angry Thais or cops eg. for traffic offences just doesn't happen.

I don't see how this could ever go anywhere unless they simply made it illegal for Thais married to farang to own land. How do they prove that someone is being used as a proxy/nominee? How do you define those terms?

Farang marries Thai. They buy land. Why would that sometimes be Ok and sometimes be illegal? It has to be either one or the other.

So I would get a Thai tax ID, register my income as earned outside the country. Claim 40k a month and take 240k in deductions thus not paying anything?

What would happen if they see a bought a condominium or an automobile for much more than that?

i know that you have to show X amount of baht in a Thai account and that is no problem for me. what i am concerned about is being asked/harassed about how i make my money if i am a young guy and live in Thailand. I have previously received this sort of treatment from police officers while being searched on the street for no reason "why you stay Thailand" "how you stay no job" who i guess were hoping i would slip up and admit to working illegally so they could extort money from me.

i am fearful of being 'taxed' so to speak with the whole 'you stay Thailand, you must pay tax on your biz'.
