    David,

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Last year the 90-day online reporting worked without any problems.

I contacted a nearby Visa Service office here on Phuket to find out what the reason was.

The answer: Since I (Retirement Visa/Extension in the last 15 years) was abroad for a few months last year and re-entered Thailand on November 15th, I need FIRST a new residence address confirmation. 90 days of online reporting are only possible if there has been no travel outside Thailand since the last successful 90 days of reporting.

I couldn't go to Phuket Immigration due to health problems. That's why I asked the visa office to do the job for me. After 2 days my wife was able to pick up my passport there along with a new confirmation of residence (the same one I have had for 15 years) plus 90 days confirmation.

The one way to sort this (as I was told via the call centre) was basically plonk your backside in the branch with your ID etc etc and they'll sort it for you there and then and get the app up and running.

    Thanks for the info.

I (German) am now completely at a loss as to what I can do.
For about 15 years I live about 50% of the year in TH, the other half in Germany.
I have two SCB accounts in Phuket Rawai and Kata, both only accessible by PC via SCB Easy.
Since we, my TH wife and I, are not coming back to TH until early November I am totally helpless without currently SCB App registered in my local SCB branch Rawai to transfer my monthly bills to TH until then.

Maybe there is a way (soon) to activate SCB App from abroad after all. In my dual SIM mobile, the TH phone number registered with SCB is also active here in Germany.

Thanks for any helpful hints on what I can do.

OR... are you simply thinking of saving the 1900 baht (cost of single re-entry permit) and not planning on travelling for the remainder of this year’s extension of stay ?

    Correct, thank you.

My question was related to the fact that I still have a reentrance permit issued on the old extension that is still valid, but I do not plan to leave TH in the entire year of the new extension.

    A small question:

Is the deposit of 100 THB to the current account on the same day you apply mandatory?

I have not made a current /same day transfer to my "Retirement Account".
It is important that the bank statement lists ALL transactions on this account from at least the date of the last extension up to the current day.

To be on the safe side I recommend the statement from the beginning of the previous year.

Unfortunately, my SCB branch did not do this properly. So I had to go back from immigration to SCB Phuket Town, who then issued me the appropriate statement.

That cost me THB 800: 1x 200 for the wrong statement, 1x 200 for the correct statement and 1x for Taxi Immigration-SCB Phuket and back ????

Workshop immediately opposite the Shell Gas station in Rawai. South of Makro. Looked after my older cars for 10 years. Recommend.  Owner called Kiat.

Thanks for the tip, I will go there in the next few days.

  7. I own a 2008 Honda CR-V.
Unfortunately since the abrupt closure of Honda Anuphas a few years ago (I was very happy with their service) I only know of Honda Maliwan near Central - with very bad reviews. I was there once for service about 3 years ago - my experiences are not positive either.

Can someone recommend a workshop on Phuket for upcoming minor repairs and the approx. 2-3 year general inspection for my CR-V?

I live in Rawai, but distance isn't that important for a good workshop.

Thanks in advance for helpful recommendation.

  8. For the first time in over 15 years, I filed my 90-day report two days ago. The regular notification was due on February 8, 2023.

All the years before, this notification was done automatically along with my annual Retirement Extension from Immigration Phuket - I live here just under 6 months each year.

    About the process:

    - I made the application with Firefox, latest version 109.0 64 bit on a WIN10 NB - WITHOUT VPN - so with TH IP.

    - Start 11:01 with the link found here in the forum https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/register/add

    - After filling and sending I received 11:07 confirmation "Dear XXX, Your account has been successfully created" - together with PW

    - 11:22 after previously filling out the application completely and submitting it, I received the email: "Dear XXX, We have received your information successfully, you can find your information below" - plus a completely filled TM47.pdf file, but without confirmation from immigration

    - 11:47 then the email "Dear XXX, Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been approved", together with the “RECEIPT OF NOTIFICATION" pdf. to print out and clip in my PP.

I am absolutely happy, especially after reading the many futile or long delayed experiences with this here on the forum.

Well someone better set the embassies straight.  This right off the British Thai Embassy:

"If you would like to drive, either vehicle or motorcycle, while visiting Thailand, you are required by law to hold an international driving license. When asked for, you need to show your international driving license along with your passport and national driving license."

Good to know, just need the above statement in Thai and be on the embassy website in the area where you get your Visa and such.

    Thanks!

This is exactly how it is for Germans traveling in TH with a motor vehicle.

    November 2021:

"The popular travel destination in Southeast Asia has new rules for driving motor vehicles as of May 1, 2021: What is needed then is either the International Driving License according to the model of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic of November 8, 1968. It is only valid in conjunction with the national German driving license. Or you will need a Thai driver's license."

  10. I have been living with my wife on Phuket for 6 months/year since 2008, right by the sea.

After our return from Europe on October 10th this year I don't see any particular changes - maybe a little more rain than before at this time.

The temperatures are as always between about 26-28 degrees at night and about 30-31 degrees during the day.

However, we live 'very far down' in Rawai. It may be a little different further up on Phuket and especially further away from the sea.

  11. So, good luck to both of us in getting a Non-0 in IO Phuket Town next week.

You are absolutely right: Room 101 downstairs is not the friendliest of rooms in IO Phuket Town -- very carefully said ????

I will share my experience here after the second Non-O application there -- it would be nice to read yours too.

    Have a nice day.

You can do the 30 day extension at the small IO In Patong beach - Cost = 1900 baht.

    TM7 Form

Copies of passport page, TM6, Visa exempt entry stamp, all signed plus 1 passport picture - Simple & quick process at the tourist friendly office in Patong.

Thank you for the recommendation IO Patong plus list of necessary documents.

I was there this morning for 30 days extension of my first exempt. They are really customer friendly. In 5 minutes everything was ready.

During the waiting time of about 45 minutes for the stamp I remembered the missing address verification for the NON-O visa. After a short inquiry, they issued a new one without any problems after I presented my leasing contract and an older address confirmation from my expired passport - without having to fill out any forms.

Now I feel really fit to apply for the NON-O Visa at IO Phuket-Town next week -- without the help of an agent.

    Thanks again for your help.

Requirements for the non-o visa is here. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/8-1.pdf

If you have had the 800k baht in a Thai bank they will waive the proof it came from abroad that is mentioned,

    Thanks @Ubonjoe,

I know the conditions for a NON-O visa, I had everything with me today.

    - For the first time in over 10 years, they didn't accept the 800K+ bank statement because it was from yesterday afternoon as always before.
    - They also did not accept my 30 year lease contract (copy of registration from Land Office Phuket in my name) for my house - instead TM30 MUST be filled out and 'notarized'.

But sorry, I was not asking for the necessary documents NON-O, but for the necessary documents and other forms for the application for another 30 days visa excempt.

Could you pls. help me with this?

    Thx

  14. I (German) arrived at Phuket Airport on November 14 by visa excempt 30 days.

For a NON-O application in Immigration Phuket plus 1-year Retirement Extension later on I am urgently looking for a Phuket agent who saves me the stress with the IOs - it's now certainly because of my age ????

All documents are in place and completed, including THB 800K+ for years in a SCB account in my name.  Went to Immigration Phuket today - very crowded and totally stressed officers.

I am certainly willing to pay for an experienced agent -I just can't and won't do it by myself anymore.

The matter is urgent as the 15 days deadline for NON-O before the Visa Excempt 30 days expires is already over tomorrow or Monday??.

Thanks already for a recommendation, gladly also by PM.
