  1. You are not a very respectful guest here. You obviously would like to tell the Thais how to run their country. That's pretty arrogant of you. Why not go home? Maybe no one their respects you?

Will you get over the guest crap.

We live in Thailand. We support Thai families. We have Thai friends. We pay Thai taxes. We work with Thais. We employ Thais.

    We are not guests.

+1 thanks for spelling that out so well...fed up reading time and time again same thing

  2. Why doe they have to disperse a crowd with live ammunition? I've seen several time hooligans being dispersed with a water canon.

Why do these clashes always have to be so bloody and cause so many casualty's?

Because the red insurgents are using LETHAL weapons, that's why. Duh.

The Abhisit's thugs use live ammunition because they have a history of hanging protesters from trees and using many other forms of intimidation besides Abhisit's main tactic of suppression of free thinking by mass censorship. It is no coincidence that Abhisit's thugs have targeted journalists.

I have just put you on my ignore list as reading your absurd invective is a total waste of bandwidth.

Funnily enough so have I...just pure twaddle

  3. I have two points to make,

1, Just because i am not thai or a resident doesnt mean i dont care, or that my worries or opinions are not valid. I live here and contribute to society. As for the FARANG tourists that you seem to dislike so much- they prop up the economy in this country, without them the economy will crash imo. So try to lose the bigotry

2,i have travelled all over the country and i have seen first hand people being TOLD they will vote red or else.... i dont call this support. A lot of my friends are from outside bkk and are poor, they DONT support reds!! Yet some friends of mine in Pattaya who are Thai, and not poor DO support the reds. imho a large proportion of rural people do support red, BUT nowhere near the 50% you are claiming. How can the reds staying here in bkk be helping their families and their crops? The payments will stop as soon as their usefullness runs out, what then for the poorest of these people???? I'm sorry but the reds have to go, the only reds who will profit from this are not the normal truly poor people you are championing, this is all about money and power, not impoverished people from Issan

    Agree 100%

  4. They are stupid / uneducated people from up country, and I bet some of them can't even explain why they are there, apart from getting some money!!!

Have you tried asking some of them? I assume you did, otherwise the above would be foolish beyond belief. Or dare I say, 'uneducated'..

We have been asking this question for weeks with NO result.

    Why don't you tell us?

Please spare us the dissolution and we want democracy blather.

Tell us what policies they want to see implemented.

    Kowchai mai?

I went to redland 3 times a few weeks back and spoke to a number of people. Mostly I just heard "we hate Abhisit" or "we love Thaksin". When I tried to talk about possible policies to help the poor I got shouted at and moved along. On another occasion I spoke to a lady in English, she told me that she had lived in England for many years, when I told her I thought violence was not the way forward she said "stupid farang, go and kiss Abhisit the farang-lover", foolishly I tried to speak to her about what ideas the red shirts had to benefit the poor, she started screaming hysterically at me and redshirt guards loomed over and manhandled me. A scary experience but I got out okay.

From my experience it is clear that most redshirts do not understand the electoral system of Thailand. It is also clear that democracy is just a word they have hijacked, nothing they do is democratic; they trample all over the democratic rights of others such as restricting their freedom to travel and go to work, a number of them sell their vote (I have seen this in person and it was caught on video, leading to the downfall of the Somchai government), they either participate in or turn a blind eye to extreme violence, they have repeatedly shown no respect for protestors holding a different view to theirs by attacking yellow shirt protests whenever they happened, attacking the Silom protest and intimidating the leader of the multicoloured shirts, their leaders were not elected and the leaders make decisions without consulting the grass roots of the movement.

On top of these things the redshirts come across as generally vile people; they cheer as people are injured, they attack ambulances, they raid hospitals, they lecture us on double standards but then want to dictate the terms of justice they face, they lecture us on equality whilst the leaders gorge on FatDonalds in airconditioned rooms whilst the rest much on somtam in the heat, they publish material which incites violence then try and defend it as freedom of speech, they insult our intelligence when every time there is a grenade attack they claim it wasn't them even though everybody but redshirts are attacked and one of their number boasts about his blackshirted army, they repeatedly change their demands like a spoilt child in a play pen, they have rejected a perfectly good opportunity to end this situation peacefully and proceed towards a fairer society and improved medias with an early election and finally they support an international fugitive who when he was PM bought elections through bribing MPs and the electorate, plunged to new depths for Human Rights and set new records for corruption and nepotism.

There comes a time when a line must be drawn. The behaviour of the reds does not deserve inclusion in the next step of democracy. The government must take the right steps to ensure the safety and freedom of all the people in Thailand who are not involved in anarchy and lawlessness under the guise of a protest in downtown Bangkok. They must also take steps to ensure that this cannot happen again.

I hope that the army do not go in guns blazing as firstly many innocent rice farmers would get killed and secondly because it would give more propoganda power to the reds. I hope that the red leaders can be caught and brought to justice, given long sentences.

I will stick my neck on the line and say that I WOULD like to see bloodshed, but only this. I would hope to see Seh Daeng tried by a Court Martial and executed by firing squad to demonstrate that this sort of insubordination that threatens civil war will not be tolerated. If this was the only other death in this situation I would be perfectly satisfied.

One of the best posts I've read in the last couple of months

  5. And grow up, he said the 14th and said it to the entire world based on a measurable road map. Do the reds need to know the time of day or are they just hel_l bent on trying to hurt Abhisit because of the popularity he has gained while in power by demanding the EC decide on the date?

What do you not understand? Seriously. The Prime Minister can not set the date for the new election. He can only set the date for House dissolution. It's the Election Commission (EC) that then decides the date for the next election. So Abhisit saying that elections will be held on November 14th is meaningless, because he's not the one that will decide it.

    Understand it now?

Could somebody tell me how to IGNORE deadsnoopy ? I'm tired of HIS misonderstanding of the whole situation!

    Thanks :)

  6. Another day gone and no action WHEN IS THE GOVERNMENT GOING TO BRING AN END TO THIS fuc_kING MUPPET SHOW???????????

It hurts tens of thousands of Thais and expats who are trying to make an honest living out here

Herm my friend. The gov is the muppet show and hopefully thaksin will bring it to an end before he dies. if not, somebody else will because it cannot survive this even if they clear the streets tonight.

And don't get exite about south police do dirty work. they number not a lot and have many army and police from north in bangkok will stop them.

so tens of thousands in high end malls and big shops inconveience. haha, go live in Isaan for 2 months then come back and moan you cannot buy calvin cline and see naked lady on stage (also illegal but falangs don't mind that sort of illegal do they)

Somebody please tell me that was an attempt at humour :)

  7. i can tell you that the shop out in menam on soi 5 is very good, i watched them do some rust work and they replaced it with metal rather than puddy good craftsmanship, they matched the paint on my suv perfectly, an other shop is near the toyota dealership turn at the light, not bad but not as good imo.

Forgot to post the outcome...I ended up using the place just down from Toyota (on opposite side of the road) before the turning to Top Cats...he did cracking job and was cheap as chips :)

  8. Believe it or not, I have had a few very good quality experiences with the bodyshop at the Toyota dealership itself, and I have always been very pleasantly surprised with their quotations as well. At least with your car being a Toyota, they're likely to get the colour right!

Thanx Nod…I got the wife to speak to Toyota today (should have mentioned that I suppose) and got a answer along the lines of they don’t want to do it…better go in and see them myself.

  9. I've done a search and trawl through here and can't find any listings for good car bodywork repair…can anyone recommend where I can get the bodywork repaired on my 5yr Vigo? it's mostly stone chips plus a scratch on rear panel where some arse keyed it :) , plus wouldn't mind having the chassis painted again seeing as we're getting close to the pi55in with rain time. It's met silver so they're going to have to be pretty good to get the match right.

    Cheers and fingers crossed
