  1. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT :P

.. As of 19th Feb Tesco Lotus have opened a large store in Chum Pae on the main road (201) going out to Phu Kiao / Keang Khro.....

Only mention it as I don't live in Chum Pae , just happened to drive by..will be a lot easier than driving down to KK - mind you where will I get my Kettle Chips Fix *!?**

  2. I have a boy puppy (born Dec12) looking for a good home . He is a light brown poodle , the last of a litter , we have been let down by the would be new owner at the last minute...

House trained - well as much as a 10 week old pup can be ..

Up to date on his injections

Looking for someone who wants a dog - NOT just a puppy and can offer a secure environment,we have had several offers from people who have had there last dog run over some in their own drive ..!

    We live in Phu Wiang

    If interested please message me.

  3. The Centara is rubbish ,dont confuse this with the rest of the Centara chain .. they bought it approx 2 years ago and have not spent a bhart, old - tired - tatty got food poisoning there last year.....the Charoen is OK if booking direct a junior suite is excellent vale for money....have a browse around trip advisor.

  4. Fair Enough, but I can only speak as I found..

I have visited the riverfront many times ,promenade and pre promenade and the difference this time was very unpleasant and I would say some 40% of the bollard lights were either smashed or broken off,we were there November 8th.

OK maybe I was unlucky, given the other posts I will give it another try

  5. I have just visited for the first time in approx 14 months.

I was shocked at the decrepid, filthy state of the Mekong promenade area .. dirty stained paving - sticky in some areas, broken lights with wires showing ..

The whole place has an air of total neglect,I took some visiting friends for,It thought, a nice lunch by the river, would not do again.. ......

  6. Have now used the secure parking facility.....

To find drive up the road opposite the arrival doors and it is 50m on the left.

You are directed to a covered parking bay,a chain is locked thru 1 wheel (no damage).

    You keep your car keys.

..If you need a trolley help is on hand

Go to the the limo desk opposite the arrival hall and get a ticket/receipt.

On your return you are charged 100b a day (pay at the limo desk).

There is 24 hour security and it is a well used facility, some 40 cars when I was there incl' a multi million bhart BMW X6...I wish ....

    Well impressed/will use again.

    B)

  7. We bought a poodle puppy from the seller outside Big C in Khon Kaen .. I am uneasy about these sort of places, but she was in good health and is now 2 years old .. calm disposition and house trained ! (by me not the seller ;) ).... The only pet shop I know sells only rabbits and Budgies ..

  8. Politcally correct nonsense.. there is nothing to say you cannot RECOMMEND a restaraunt or business .......

.....Top recommend for restaraunt .. unique 4 level layout.. huge choice.. parking opposite tho' you might get lucky on the street.

it is in a side street best, google up udonmap.. Follow Srisuk rd west (or on the map left to right) past Udon Prison (!) on the right.. next left turn -with post office on the corner - is their street .. however..it is one way so .. left at the lights .. left again.. voila ! .off road parking opposite ..

Also have a look at some the restaraunts along the road at the top of Nong Prajak Park/Lake on Supakit Chanya Rd.

  9. Thanks again Mr C !

You always get at least one prattish post it seems (not you Mr C!!).

Yes I am driving 1 1/2 hours into Udon to use the Air Asia direct flight to Phuket with 3 other adults + luggage .. hence the question..

.. anything else jazzbo ? .. my inside leg measurement is ...................

  10. Thanks Mr C ,,,

I am concerned about leaving a newish truck for 15 days unprotected (would be in the UK!)...

..Will check out the "Limo" suggestion ..

Might just check into the Ban Chiang Hotel for 1 night and leave car in their 2 hour security car park ..

  11. When looking to build a pool in the Khon Kaen area 2 years ago,I checked out the available pool companies in KK and found them v expensive,or in the case of JD Pool a blatant rip off..

In the end had my 8.5 X 4.5 pool designed/built by Siam Consulting for 122,000 Bhart including a salt water system with a state of the art chlorinator (not the basic red light/green light thingy's).

Have had excellent back up from them.

They are farang owned/ lead, based in Udon .. They also build houses I learnt after beginning my Thai builder ..err..build (!),which might have helped lower my blood pressure !!

  13. As an eBayer for many years ,the price shown on Ebay is the priced charged there will be no extra tax/vat ...

Most international sellers i.e out from the UK will only accept PayPal for security reasons.

Many UK sellers will not sell outside Europe.

I use a DD card originally UK registered ,now bank in the UK but PayPal & eBay home address in Thailand..Correct better protection from Credit card.

Suggest you ask for items to be sent Royal Mail "signed for" as a minimum standard..means sod all over here but extra authority look to packet seems to gaurentee delivery..have had standard airmail go missing ..surprise-surprise.!

Depending on value..size/weight there is always Thai customs.....

    :)

  14. HART

    CARRAGHER TERRY DAWSON A.COLE

    JOHNSON BARRY J.COLE

    LAMPARD

    GERRARD

    ROONEY

    OK won't happen !

    BUT

Jo Hart shows the arrogance of youth and no calamaties on his CV

Solid defense witn Dawson adding a bit of much needed pace

Johnson is an excellent attacking player, better at crossing than Lennon, can help "old" Jamie C

The whole team would be more skilfull and better suited to Fabio's passing game rather than the "hoof" and hope approach..

    Something a little different.................

  15. * If you have to perform physical activities in hot weather, drink plenty of fluids (such as water and sports drinks), but avoid alcohol, caffeine, and tea which may lead to dehydration.

    * Your body will need replenishment of electrolytes (such as sodium) as well as fluids if you sweat excessively or perform vigorous activity in the sunlight for prolonged periods.

I have been told by my GP that "sports drinks" are not advisable as they contain high amounts of caffeine,as per most of the stuff on the shelves in Thailand..He recommends electrolyte drinks and water mixed with grenandine syrup (aka Hales) which is very refreshing ! :) .
