Hi ,

I am working offshore 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off, meaning I spend less than 90 days in the kingdom over a period of 6 months.

I am staying in the country using the stamp on arrival since almost 7 years with this rhythm which seems to be fine regarding the law.

Last time I went through the airport customs, officer told me that the law changed and from now on, one was allow to stay only 90 days per "year" in the kingdom using the stamp on arrival....

They let me enter the Kingdom but wrote a warning just under the stamp in my passport....

Since then, I am looking all over the different official Thai website and all other kind of information source to know if there is a new law but so far I did find nothing!

How can I be sure that such a new law has not been voted?

If nothing changed, how can I prove it to the customs officer?

My Gf translated for me what the officer wrote on my passport and it says that next time I will need a visa....

I just can't understand what is their point here... Am I not a quality tourist as they are looking for? 555

Hi all, i just arrived in Phuket after my usual 5 weeks at see and was ready to enjoy a month off....

That was before an imigration officer told me that a new law just came up saying that I can stay 90 days per year maximum using stamps on arrival...

He wrote it in Thai, just below the stamp and let me go finally. When I asked hime what kind of visa I could get he replied the tourist one.... <deleted>?

I am staying in Thailand since 7 years doing these rotations and I never had any issues but this is bad, really bad. I can't imagine going thru the process of a tourist visa eveey time i disembark.

Any body had the same issue or is it just another Phuket's special?

It's gonna be tricky next year to choose between a monster 821 and an MT09 with mods....

A japanese is not a Thai which is nor a Vietnamese neither a Koeran exactly the same is going for an Australian not being a German which is nor an American neither a French.

I do try to avoid using this word but at the end of the day.... it doesn't change my day

Thanks Bkkbike09 for the details regarding the California's specs, the darker frame looks good and also, the golden front fork is not available on the Blue Race so... Finally it is maybe a good thing :-D

The original plate older has to go ASAP for sure but I was talking about the rear light block itself. Rizoma and another company, I think LSL, are doing smaller one integrated under the seat and it makes the rear of the bike looks really nice!

I made the big mistake to try the Mt-09 just 2 weeks after getting my CB... I should not!

Now I think about it way too much and it starts to be an obsession...

The only down point I see with this bike is the fact that Yamaha Thailand keep importing the poor North American specs bikes which was already a drama when I bought my T-max.

Anyway, no reason for me to keep moaning as we don't have choice....

The replacement of the rear light for a Rizoma type makes the bike look great!

I am not planing any races on Phuket road but as we say in France "qui peut le plus, peut le moins" meaning driving a big bike at 60 or 80Km/h is much safer than driving a click or a PCX at the same speed...... But if I can win hands down every "between lights" contest, it's a big plus!

Karlos: Everybody here is more or less driving the same car, same bike d/t the lack of choice so I agree with that, just too many T-max here in Phuket....

The big plus for me with the BMW, apart from having the BMW badge , is the trunk where you can put 2 full face helmet while stopped.

Yankee99: As I was not planning to buy any BMW in Thailand I never really cared about that but thanks for the comment, I am going to investigate on it.... Knowing the price of the vehicles they are selling, I just thought that their technician should be well trained on how to maintain cars or bikes.... I'll have a look on the net if I can find some feedback.

Anyway, birthday is in May so I have at least 5 more months to decide which one will be my (self made) present

I am living in Phuket and I seriously start thinking about buying a maxi scooter.

Fed up driving the same scooter than everybody, fed up with uncomfortable seat, lack of power and first of all, the lack of pleasure to drive a nice machine.

I now that the T-Max is since a decade or more the best choice in the category and for sale in the Kingdom for about 500 kThb but as BMW Thailand is launching its new maxi scooter for the same price, I just wanted to know if somebody already ordered or tried one?
