  1. I wish :D

I do not like the idea of having any weapon's . I feel like its almost karmic that if one has something they are likely to get hurt or attract trouble.

Friends tell me dave is not quite the redneck he appears to ( the boxer-rebellion shots on their webpage make him look like he is trying very hard to fit that label perfectly) and is really quite a sweety.

If I were to carry anything it would be mace.

The other concern I have is that I simply do not fully trust myself not to use something in the heat of the moment. :)

  2. (& placed his sexuality high in the reasons of why he wasn't happy)

This is such foolishness. Sexuality is not a reason to feel happy or sad.

The reason why I am not happy is that I do not have enough money. If only I had another million dollars I think I would be ....well...fairly ok..

    ..but not completely.

    interesting...

saw bruno and laughed like I was insane at how he makes fun of one guy

  3. We're decorating the condo and I'd like to get a few pieces of reasonably priced, but nice Thai art. I see the galleries in the malls. Are there other more reasonable outlets? I'm looking for Thai-oriented things, although it can be anything from historic to modern.

    Thanks

    ja tu jak is great

  4. Based upon what the man has said;
"The police were given my name by an acquaintance in Bangkok. They raided my house and found drugs that were for my personal use," he said during an interview at Rye Hill prison, Warwickshire.

If this is true, the Law is truly an ass of the highest order.

"The complete isolation of the place was impossible to deal with. My lawyer barely spoke any English and when it came to court I had to plead guilty to distribution charges, which under Thai law I was guilty of.

''They gave me a life sentence, even though they knew I wasn't a drug dealer."

What can one expect in a country rife with corruption & that also has a total lack of understanding of "human rights".

"I don't deny that I was taking drugs, I had become addicted to amphetamines at a very stressful time in my life.

"But I never sold drugs and I was absolutely not involved in any sort of distribution.

If this is a fact, the Law should mind its own business.

Thailand seems to take great pride & pleasure in pouncing on any "moral" infringement. But this is a total oxymoron...where is the "morality" in treating people, who choose to ingest certain chemicals, in such an inhumane way?

I agree and no law in the world is gonna change the way I like to treat my own body thank you very much!

And just like BJ says , how dare such a corrupt set of fools try and pass their morals onto anyone else

they have to get their own house in order before they do that.

And lets face it- that ain't gonna happen for quite some time!

  5. ^Unfortunately it is a myth that lady's prefer large members. :)

    oh honey...no,no, no,pleeeeeze!

Size DOES count, no if's,no but's, no maybe's, -just plain, maybe ugly fact.

Its been that way since day 1. Lets get a little relaity check here.

    I guess you jest.

And from I hear surgery is just so plain risky. I do understand why some would risk it though.

And I was told that the dane's have a sort of machine that actauly work's called a jeez extender

  6. I never carry a wallet . I only have what i need on me, Then any problem ,just give them it , it has never happened to me , I have been to Thailand a few times , you will never get the better of a Thai , there is always kick back revenge, better to let them have a few baht than lose your life , I am 55 in perfect condition and can and do look after myself , But you cannot out run a bullet and any idiot can stick a knife in you , don't get me wrong i would, and have defend myself if back into a corner, Scholar's discus not fight.

you will never get the better out of a thai

    ha ha ha

read " farang disarms gun totting local"

boy did he dish out an ass whipping of mega propotions

and do I love it :D ( I acutally saw it- and theres a tape of the whole incident)

that same man, early this year called up some propepty self proclaimed rip off joker associated to north thai company in pattaya and told him to repay the old brit he was ripping off( have they really no shame)- or go book himself a bed in hospidal because that where he would end up if he messed this old guy about anymore :) ( not something I would recommend myself)

he even went down to meet him face to face

and has many other tales to tell

sure, he is not superman, but the truth is that most of these so called mafia guy are just wannabee's

and if more stood up to them less people would suffer

part of their so called strengh is due to this nonsenses you put out

    lets grow up shame we

  7. It always amazes me how much farangs complain about how Thailand is not like "home." They don't speak English here! How can they eat that food? Don't they know how to do things the right way? What's wrong with these people?

Complaining, complaining, complaining! OH MY GOD! If Thailand is so bad....then go back HOME!! Wherever that may be and SHUT UP!

There's nothing wrong here except the farangs who complain about Thailand. :)

    it's aweful is'nt it

but to be honest, there is , here just like every where else in this beauiful ego invested, male dominated, world where much could be changed, sometimes for the good

now.is'nt that much better than saying

    thailand is useless, etc

I think its the way something can be framed, some people just like to complain, put down

one can say everything, help things get better from a postive propspective

you know what I adore, that, almost unique thai smile that one see's from a poor farmer to a business man

    all over this lovely land

  8. Hello,

When I arrive in Bangkok I would like to learn Muay Thai. I'm not looking for a camp but would like to attend a class once or twice a week.

I will be a beginner. Could anyone point me in the right direction and give me a hint on what the price might be? In the UK it is about £15 a lesson, will it be this much in Bangkok?

I guess a class for English people or Farangs would be best.

    Thanks.

my friend like the classes offered at boxer-rebellion because not only is the instructor top class( and super cute)

they have a great teaching style

one does so much more than just be told to hit a bag and do exercises one could do at home

and , not only do they teach muaythai, but also old style thaiboxing, called muay, something or other... cannot recal now, and also french savate

( the founder of boxer-rebellion was the youngest european to fight and win in thailand back in the early 80's and claims he was able to do so thanks to his skills in savate, which is like french kickboxing)

Theres a great friendly scene going on there

I am not going to take thaiboxing as I am told its not so good for self defence, but I have seen them work out and it looks great for a intense workout

oh yes, they have a website too

    boxer-rebellion.net

  9. I have a Cambodian friend who wants to study medicine. He sensibly rejects the idea of getting a Cambodian degree (which is worthless).

He believes a Thai degree would be a better bet, if he wished to practise outside Cambodia one day. So he's thinking of coming to BKK for a few years to get one.

But how internationally useful is a Thai medical degree?

I assume he could practise in other SE Asian countries - but anywhere else? The West?

this is very interesting because recently a friend told me that " no good western establishment really recognises anything earnt in thailand"

she said that there were just too many case's of someone being far below standard.

She addedd that whilst lip service may be applied they were extra checking procedures for any sort of degree and simelar earnt here- and quite a number of other places too.

After meeting local head of an english department I can well understand why. This person was in charge of teaching the teachers and yet could not even tell me who some of the great authors were.

Their name card was even misspelt!

  10. They all use 6mm soft pellets. I bought an M4, an AK47 and a M81 pistol plus extras there last week.

On sunday I went to the bb/paintballing centre off Rama 9 for an evenings carnage and all the Thai guys buy their stuff at a place in or very near China town. They tell me the guns are a little cheaper but the accessories (laser, night vision etc) are half the price.

I have not been to China town so I cannot vouch for it but the shop in Seacon was good and gave me a discount as I bought 3 guns.

My new friend at boxer-rebellion is going to open a sort of class where he teaches a thing called CQB ( close quarter battle) with airsoft pistols in an simulated urban type enviroment

it looks real fun and apparently one can learn all sorts of basic skills related to that

he says it is not target shooting,

but the stuff you need to learn if one face's a real threat

gotta admit, thats highly unlikely, but still, thesedays, you never know

some other guy are coming over from the USA to set up the range, or whatever you call it

I was in USA and just did not know what to buy- and the stall I found in patpong costs far too much

I will try that place, and please tell me, is there regular painball events organised

    thanks

  11. Well looks like Freds away eh?

  13. Don't the guys who run boxer-rebellion , the MMA etc gym on soi 13 all watch these events on the ground floor whenever they happen?

I have seen them on the ground floor all shouting at events like these watched on a huge screen.

I am sure they do and they all seem to be having a great time

Go to www.boxer-rebellion.net and ask them.

I am friends with one of the managers there and they are a very friendly bunch.

  14. Hello,

Since arriving in Bangkok about 4 weeks ago my skin has got quite dry and I was wondering perhaps it might be the constant exposure to air conditioning?

Back home in England I rarely experienced them but here they are on in the flat, in the taxis, in the malls etc.

They are really nice, don't get me wrong, but do they have any downsides?

Anyone use a humidifier to keep the air moist?

I'm trying to ween myself off them at home and am just using a fan.

    Thanks

I got the same- and so i bought a nice little device at MBK which seems to counter this nicely. Cost 1200bht.

  15. As for the " thai mafia"

Please, a lot of hot air, a bunch of cowards who prey on people who believe in this nonsense.

Yeah, that's probably the same advice someone gave Michael Wansley. I'm sure his mother appreciated that bit of advice.

    :D

Well lets hope they send someone a little bit better than that last pathetic specimen . Is that the best they can do?

From what I have heard and seen going after him would not be wise.

Kinda like bringing the pigeon's to the cat.

Or maybe they like getting soooo trashed! How much face did they lose? :D Do you know, there is even security footage of this punk getting his asswhipping !

I mean, you have got to love it, big tough mafia guy all gunned up ( I very much doubt he would of dared to do what he did if he was not carrying) who thinks he owns the place .

Taught a nice little lesson in manners by his white brother (is that what is bothering some people here- that a ( handsom)white guy took out this loser?)

My hero does not give jack shit, he really does not, walks right over and wham-bam thank you mam, spanks that sorry dudes little butt to blazes.

And you seem not to like this , honey, take a look in the mirror for sec will ya :) Okay, see what I see?

So you would not and could not, no need to feel bad that someone could and did and seems not to be at all fazed by these so called tough guys :D

My friend say he is not going anywhere, is easy to reach and would be rich if he had money for every death threat he had received.

  16. I dont believe this story.

It doesnt sound believable. What Farang is going to stick his neck out to do that! Also how did you hide behind a power post, you must be pretty thin.

hi frien, uncross those bones and prepare to be trashed :D , we are not all like you dear :D

I bumped into this hunk today- I told him of your little whine and he laughed.

We had a nice talk. He runs a martail school in that building called - boxer-rebellion.

Said something like " those who can do- do , and those who cannot moan about them because they highlight their own lameness and selfishness" !!! Ohhhhhhh..... :P

When I said I also would not get involved , he said most will not, most do whats natural and protect themselves. Some even whine when they do.Haaaaaaaa!

I think he is religious because he says he answers to someone higher.

He gave me a name card for you to check the story.

Mr Peter Fretten Liason Translator at the Lumpini police station.( 139 Wireless Road) He translated the statement.

    Phone number 0813573870 02- 255-5993-7.

The loser ( the guy with the gun, not the ones who put their foot in it! :D ) is in custody now and this man was formally thanked by the Lumpini police.

There is even film footage of the whole thing because it was outside the condo and he pointed out how anyone who wants to check it can easily do so. The guy with the gun is looking at a long stretch away! Another nasty person off the streets.

You are soooooo trashed ! :P

Listen girlfriend, take advice from me. I've fallen flat on my face before too!

:) Check before you make these little accusations ( a man who would make that up would be pretty silly would'nt he, afterall, its is very easy to disprove, and prove, as you can now see.

It's quite easy and you'd be saving yourself from the hard time I'am giving you now :D . Hee-hee!

He asked me to refer to him only as Mr C and to mention these 3 teachers who gave him the ability to do what he did. Such modesty! I am copying from his handwriting which is not so clear .Unlike you how badly you have started today :D

Well, a good tale to tell the grandchildren.

Mate, I dont actually care that much - sounds like you were fantasizing anyway.

I was in London many years ago and a couple of jakes were pissed out of their faces, a man and a woman. They were arguing about something and suddenly the man grabbed the woman's hair and started smashing her head into a wall. There were a load of yuppie types waiting for a bus at the bus stop and I looked at them as if to suggest we should help but they weren't interested at all. People just turned the other way. So I went by myself over the road and grabbed the guys arm and tried to restrain him whilst telling him to please calm down etc. Before I knew it the WOMAN turned on me, teeth and nails, biting and scratching and swinging at me. I ended up with a black eye and felt like a right cu*t.

That has taught me to keep out of other peoples arguments unless you know enough about it to actually have an opinion. Its strange how situations can turn on you.

Another thing happened to me, I was in Bali - we hired and old suzuki jeep and went around the island. I saw a woman who had a motorbike accident. I stopped to help her up and get the bike off the road. The police turned up and she told them I had ran into her.. I had nothing to do with the accident, I stopped to help and I ended up having to pay a small fine. I am still not sure if it was a set up, but anyway!

2 Thais arguing, one pulls out a gun and points it to the others head, youd have to be pretty stipid to get involved in that one. They could bother be evil mafia types - probably are and you are risking your life for what? Maybe he had hiccups see if you can figure that one out.

I may of been in some sort of fanasty world after the incident, but not during.

My hero asks if you are calling him "stupid" and if so, please drop by his gym on soi 13 and discuss this in person and he'll show you his way of curing hiccups!

Word of advice . I would'nt do it honey :D

I'am, thinking of signing up for classes .

I took some shotokan karate-do ( japanese karate) once but it was too classical for me. We were doing ka-ta all the time.Dullllllllllllllllll!

I was told that the best nowadays is kravmaga.

At his gym they they teach kapap, both come from israel.

I do not want to spend every day at the gym so a quick fix is what I seek.

Seriously, he said to me the reason he did it was because there were lots of people around. And the gun held 13 rounds ( bullets)Women, children, cowards, etc, were all there-

He also said he does'nt really give a dam about the mafia which he calls another word for coward who ought to get a proper life.

He also said he had an incident simelar to your where he helped a chinese lady in hong-kong who was getting punched in the mouth by her boyfriend and she told him to clear off!

    What a bitch! :D

  17. There's a new gay social group in Bangkok. Information is available through "Meetup", a well-known online social networking portal that facilitates offline group meetings in various localities around the world. For information, Google for "Meetup". Under the "hit" for "Meetup", click on "Find a Meetup Group". Lastly, set the country to "Thailand" and the city to "Bangkok".

Here's the purpose of the Bangkok Gay Group on Meetup:

The Bangkok Gay Group's primary focus is to provide a relaxed, "non-pickup-scene" social environment for gay men. If you just moved to Bangkok or if you have lived here for a while, this group can be a great way to meet new people. Join us for happy hours, clubbing, gay-themed movies playing at Bangkok theaters, art gallery show openings, boat trips, railroad trips, tours and other social events around the Bangkok area.

Sounds great :) I am just looking for some nice folk.

Not the over the top types I have been seeing too much of.

I met this really cool , gay friendly straight guy who owns a cool self defence gym here. I actually saw him in action disarming a local with a gun! I could not believe my eye's, it was like a hollywood movie!

And we've become friends as we live on the same soi. He made the very sensible suggestion that a little self -defence training goes a long way.

Maybe we could consider using his gym on soi 13 as sort of healthy meeting spot. What do you think?

  18. I dont believe this story.
