In short, don't spout spurious information as fact. Yes there are foreigners that come here and behave appallingly however in most of those stories there is a Thai family standing in the background clutching the money they received for that access. It is, as the last report iterates, hard to get quality data on this subject due to short-comings in the Thai police, political and legal systems.

Now to defend, because it was never my intention to attack just get rid of unqualified statements, there is sexual abuse of minors all over the world. Every society has this and uncovers it at all levels. Unfortunately Thailand appears to want to do nothing about it.

If you think I can't come up with anything decent in future please do the smallest amount of research on the subject. Sure the "western" man on holiday gets a lot of press, but the actual reason for that is that we don't want our people going around the world behaving this way. In Thailand it is all about brushing it under the carpet and using tight media controls to suppress.

Generally speaking, these children are victims of abuse within the family or at school.

Most instances of sexual violence are against young girls, which has a serious impact on their lives. They are vulnerable and do not dare to talk about the trauma they have been through. Also, some of them fall pregnant as a result of this sexual abuse, which turns their lives upside down.

There are some organisations providing social services which welcome and support these children. However Thailand must do more to protect them.

As I said in one of my earlier comments: there are sexually depraved men everywhere. Yet, judging by what frequently appears on the news, whether in the western media or Thai press, there seems to be a multitude of stories regarding Caucasian men and their sexual depravity. That many sexually deviant Farangs come to Thailand and abuse minors is not spurious, it is a fact. I am very surprised that you still have difficulty understanding why Thais are wary of Farang men. And you should not feel the need to defend yourself if you have done nothing wrong.

How are these statistics about child abuse in Thailand verifiable if no action is taken against the perpetrators? If Thailand did not want to do anything about this problem and wanted to brush it under the carpet, there would not be frequent stories on the news about Farang sexual predators being arrested in this country.

And many male Farangs are still surprised why Thais are so wary of them? You cannot blame us for assuming that Farang men are potential predators when this kind of story keeps appearing in the news. Only logical.

The prospect of getting old and living alone is so frightening for many elderly male Farangs. They need someone to look after them as soon as senility sets in and to assist them when they become physically incapable in their dotage.

This is why we tend to be wary of male Farangs. It is unsurprising that they are considered potential paedophiles in Thailand when such stories keep appearing in the news.

I don't see the difference between Farangs' daily bitching about Thais on this forum and Thais talking **** about Farangs right in front of their faces.

I am not sure whether Thai women are drama queens, but I have seen a good number of bitching queens on Thai Visa.

This is a prime example of Farang paranoia. Most Thais do not really care why you are here and with whom you have a relationship in Thailand as long as it is between adults. It has nothing to do with anybody. I cannot help thinking that many male Farangs are very insecure.

Many Farangs have said that they don't hate Thais, but their actions speak louder than their words. We will be the judge of that.

Judging by what I have read on this forum, I doubt that Farangs are more chilled in Thailand. The opposite is true, many are irascible and become unreasonably vexed with little provocation.

It is not only a problem with foreigner gangsters that needs to be dealt with: much commoner issues such as overstaying Farangs and Farang child molesters also need to be urgently addressed.

I thought the same thing when I visited some tourist attractions in Thailand. Sometimes I could not help holding my breath. Then I realised it was the overpowering stink of unwashed Farangs who tend to ooze out their cheesy odour. Unpleasant smells are ubiquitous in Thailand and generally Thais tolerate them without comment. I guess the additional stink of unwashed Farangs, who seem unaware of their own pong, is just another odour Thais will have to get used to.

Thais may or may not know what the Nazi symbol portrays. The reality is they are not interested in Farangs' sensitivities and may even be amused by them. You people in their country are simply irrelevant to them.

Tell me something new. There seems to be a psychological problem with many Farangs in Thailand. It is best to keep away from them or try not to get involved with these people. The natives need educating about the risks of being around them and how to distinguish the good from the bad.

It is a shame that you are not allowed to do to inappropriately dressed Farangs in Thailand as this school director did to the student.

The way many Farang men dress in Thailand is a real affront to the natives' eyes. A binbang might be more suitable attire for these gentlemen.
