  1. Jaguar had sonics and cbr150s as of about a year ago. They're on a small soi off Moon Muang, I think it's the first soi on the left as you go up Moon Muang from Ratchawiti.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Ended up getting a CBR150 from Jaguar Bikes :) . Was riding with ease right away :D

Im in Fang at the moment heading up north and loving every minute of it :D

One question, has anyone dealt with Jaguar before? They seem like really nice people and were very helpful, but I forgot to check over the bike before I left and theres a small crack on the rear fender that was already there. Just wanted to see if anyone has had any bad experience with them?

    Thanks again,

    P

  2. This might sound silly but I'll ask anyway

If im visiting hill tribes on my own(riding motorbike) and they usually have an entry fee(longneck tribes etc) where do you pay to enter?

Also are most of the tribes use to people showing up and watching there daily lifestyle?

What are some recommendations for visiting around CM?

  3. After riding scooters around Thailand in the last few months I've become addicted to riding :) and want to learn how to ride a bigger bike so I can go for my license when I get home. I was wondering what scooters have a hand clutch so I can get use to using it before jumping on a 250cc? I'm in Chiang Mai if anyone has any shops to recommend.

  4. Have to move out of my nice hotel tomorrow :D

Looking through all the guesthouses listed on these forums I need to know any that have good parking for my bike?

Im looking in the very cheap range 100-300 a night :)

Dosn't have to be close to the old city either

Any help would be appreciated as I've left this to the last minute :D

  5. Ok, the place north-east of the moat does not sell mesh jackets.

It does sell leather jackets, bottoms and light/heavy duty biker boots.

Gloves are for sale there too *I think*. All this is 2nd hand gear btw.

I bought my leather jacket from here for about 1000 baht and haven't looked back.

The place for mesh jackets and the other fancy gear is Speedy Corner in Pantip Plaza. They are on the ground floor.

Last time I was in it was mostly yellow corn stuff.

    They sell 'real' helmets.

There is another place that is south west of the moat, but you can only get to it by heading north from airport plaza and it's on your left after the Honda dealership place.

Now he sells what looks like geniune helms but some bikers have advised caution and warned he might be selling copies. I've looked at some of his helms and they looked darned convincing. Having said that he was majorly p&ssed off at me taking pictures in his shop. Be that as it may here's the helms from there:

You can get the air-bag-jackets from this place too.

If you need directions to the second-hand place pm me.

Thankyou so much, very helpful :)

  6. Well, life Changing is taking it a bit far but...

I've been in Thailand for the last 2 months, spent most my time on the islands partying, drinking, doing things 24 year olds do.

Now I've escaped to Chiang Mai to gather my thoughts and finish up my trip before I go home in 2 weeks.

I want my last 2 weeks in Thailand to really change me, the last couple of days I've been a bit quieter than usual and have been looking around at the local way of life and taking things in. I feel Im growing up a little bit and getting a bit more mature.

So I ask everyone, what are some suggestions on places to go/things to see and do that are interesting, grounding and make me think, laugh or cry?

So far on my list is just the standard CM stuff

    Visit Hill Tribes

    Elephant Trekking

    Bungee Jumping

    Zoo, Monkey Centre

Should I cross over into Burma or Laos? It might sound a bit sick but I want to see just how little some people have and what condition's some people have to live in. Kind of want to be shocked.

  8. Cheers for the advice guys.

I was told to look on ebay as they're alot cheaper in the u.s. There alot to choose from at good prices so think ill go for one of them.

Expect to pay heavy duty even for a second hand one, if you are considering having it shipped to Thailand.

I've heard they just make the duty up depending on what the item is. Is this true?

If not then how much do you think duty would be on a macbook worth 16,000baht?

  9. I need to call the Commonwealth Bank Australia hotline to reset my online password(they've frozen my internet banking).

    The number is +61 13 2828.

Are these kind of numbers(hotlines) more expensive than standard oversea's numbers?

Whats the cheapest way of me doing this?

I've got a mobile thats with "12call", would this take up alot of credit?

Sorry for the newbie question but I havn't phoned oversea's from Thailand yet.

    Any help appreciated :)

  10. For stingray try P.K.K. shop--it is a little stand on the lower floor of the building just north of the Meridian Hotel--towards the back in the north west corner. He has fair prices, good quality and if you are buying more than one piece he will negotiate a fair deal.

Sorry, do you mean at the Night Bazaar or in Issan?
