  1. I hope the bad guy stop killing solider again and again, just like yesterday.

And I wish the Thai press (Daily News) would not splash a huge and graphic photograph of the soldier lying dead on a bench, while other soldiers walk by.

Perhaps the Thai attitude towards violent death could do with some alteration. :)

yes, he deserves better - a 21 gun salute , a full parade at the democracy monument with all primary colors, an eulogy chronicling the man's life, his duty to the thai nation......(the list is too long). sorry.

let's watch more videos up-dates from all first-hand sources here, first.

  2. Even the Pravda writes it: The government cannot anticipate how big the red-shirt movement is, or how big it will grow. As long as the red shirts' problems remain and their demands are not met, the movement will be reborn and come back to challenge the government again in no time at all.

Unfortunately the Democrats are not wise enough to understand.

My guess is that Abisith does not want any elections at all. He'll always find a good reason to postpone. Burmese style.

acting blur or doing nothing is also an action course - any style, burmese or otherwise.

  3. Thank you for your candid admission to Reds being more violent. It has been visible from the pics and videos for awhile AND certainly noticeable from the Red stages but up until now you have avoided mentioning red violence.

BTW --- Thailand is still not France.

No, you are mistaken. I just state that the Farmers are far more tougher than the average Middle Class. But as people utilising their muscles for heavy jobs, they are less violent for starting a struggle, far more reserved to use their strength, less agressive, in fact more peaceful than the average. However if the provocation is coming they will replicate strongly and I have no doubt about the winners .....

Beyond a bad back not sure where they would be getting so much strength unless it is lifting all that Thai whiskey in the months they spend not farming. Remember the elite middle class can all afford gyms and personal trainers to sculpt their bodies and of course the best.

But seriously ... when is the fight between the middle class and the poor coming? Right now it is about largely thugs and terrorists who will be going up against a military.

PS. everybody is non-violent until they are.

    a

aren't people who frequent gyms a bit "if===y"? you know what i mean.

for those with personal trainers, aren't those people even more "if---y"?

check it at the dj station. :)

  4. :):D
Thaksin ordered killing of thousands of innocent people yet never got prosecuted for it. Does this give Abhisit automatic right to kill all the redshirted protesters? Afterall Thaksin did it.

How stupid can this "double standard" discussion get?

Thaksin ordered the killing of these people who were believed to be drug runners. It has nothing to do with what's happening now. Why bring this into the debate?

"thaksin ordered the killing of thousands of innocent people..."??????????????

is there an archive where we can research on this killings???????????

    "thousands ", eh?

    and, "all innocents" , too

holy toledo, oh jesus, oh budhha, oh-my-god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where is the the records, photographs, evidence, wwitnesses,etc.etc.

    :D:D:D

Ongoing Impunity from Thaksin's War on Drugs

In August 2007 the government appointed a special committee chaired by former Attorney General Khanit na Nakhon, to investigate approximately 2,500 extrajudicial killings that took place in 2003 as part of Thaksin's "war on drugs." Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether the new investigations will lead to effective criminal prosecution of the perpetrators, who are believed to include senior police officers and members of the former Thaksin administration.

There are tons of news articles, picture and videos all over the net for anyone who wants to be better informed.

    unable to watch this youtube.

    anyone knows how?

  5. Thank you everybody for showing how incompetent the government is in this country. Honestly, as much as I don't think Thaksin should come back, he would have the balls to do something about a situation like this. Unlike the current PM who sits in his office and gives empty threats of a crackdown. Maybe the reds are right. Abhisit has sure shown it the last few weeks that he's unfit to handle any critical situations. How can a government be in power that can't even maintain order in its nations capital.

One can't blame PM Abhisit alone

He needs the army to do the crackdown

    Gen Anupong os equally soft

The UDD now know and so that the rest of the world that Thailand has a PM who is soft and the army gen is soft too

    bad combination

    meaning???????? :)

  6. I just heard that there have been several cases of H1N1 in the Red Shirt enclave! Could it be that this once feared disease is the answer to the whole problem! Could they all be sent home because of fear of an epidemic there!?

Would be an amazing end to an tricky situation (even if only a temporary one).

    Source: Channel 3 news

Thousands of people living in close quarters without proper sanitation. They'll be lucky if the flu is the worst thing that spreads.

an epidemic is looming all over bangkok.

the four horsemen of the apocalypse are delivering it post haste via ups and hdl :D

Castles, Kings and kingdoms have been lost because

contagion is stronger than the greatest princeling

an aids or hiv+ like scourge can help immeasurably now, especially with the rich yellow trying to punish the people of isaan by dumping their mia nois (who are mostly from the red camps) to the thai nation. (other threads in tv refers).

princelings and such will then will find themselves leveled by this contagion then along with those who they oppose.

    :)

  7. I hope they do not run out of colors. Now we got Reds-which-wear-anything-but-reds mingling with the Multicolored shirts? How do you separate Multicolor Green from Red Green? Is there some kind of secret handshake? Can you wear blue shoes with a red shirt? Or green tie with red jacket? Oh, that would be 70's! Is the color pink already taken by some United Group Against Fascism, Nazi Ponies and Evil Ghosts?

the thai ghost festival is round the corners.

    ghosts are mostly color=blind.

the colors don't really matter now.

the ghosts don't care two hoots whether you are a neo-nazis or what -have-you.

just the same, they will devour anyone who is fodder for them. :)

so the aging yellow generals and such will just carry out their "duties" to the thai nation,as they see fit. :D .

  8. Maybe Mark can call in the French foreign legion to sort the BKK mess out.

They for one won't be taken hostage by untrained reddies.

You are right. They won't be taken hostage cuz they'll raise the white flag and call the U.S. to get them out of the shit as usual.

    :D

the usa might do that , i.e. if they have forgotten the mess the french left behind for them in the vietnam war when they screwed up the whole french indo-china in the past. :D

bush and rumfeld will be out there searching for weapons of mass destruction in nongkhai, korat, and udon thani.

of course, using the defence that collateral damage will be a feature of this search, they will level isaan and sink bangkok first. :)

  9. So after 7 weeks of this.....two dozen threads, thousands of posts we have come to the conclusion that........

    Abhisit should dissolve parliment

A military coup would be good

The army should just kill everybody

The army should do nothing--the reds will eventually leave.

    Redshirts are all just terrorists

    Yellowshirts are just terrorists

All other shirts are just terrorists but could be on either side

Guys in black are terrorists but are really red terrorists.

Yellowshirts occupancy of the airport was a bad thing

Redshirts coming to BKK is a bad thing---really bad...worse than anything a yellow could do...but they are not really smart like the Yellows.

    The Government is incompetent

The army and police are incompetent

The Reds (or blacks) fired first

    The army fired first

Reds are all getting paid on a scale from 300 baht a day to 2000 baht a day or more...they only protest for money...not like yellows who do it for love of Thailand.

The Reds do not get paid but the yellows do.

We know for sure the army and police get paid---oh government too--and way better pay scales.

The Reds fired grenades at the train

The train driver says he saw the grenades coming from a totally different direction to where the reds were....oops just ignore that, eyewitness reports are invalid.

Farangs know things about the reds and their leaderships thoughts that they don't even know themselves...Farangs just KNOW these things....

Farangs know far more about everything in Thailand than any Thai person could possibly know... even ex bus drivers from Liverpool are highly educated in these matters.

If Farangs were running things here this would never have happened...peace and tranquility reign in all Faranglands.

Rice growers are just stupid...actually morons, idiots..and of course terrorists.

In order to know what Thailands population really wants you have to be Farang....and preferably not have spent too much time in Thailand to get confused by actually meeting a lot of Thais.

Tanks and Blackhawkes are the best way to do crowd control.

This would never happen in the USA....we would have shot all of them by day 2.

This would never happen in the UK....we know how to deal with things like this.....we negotiated a deal with the IRA...and it only required 30 years and 4,000 or so deaths...

    we don't mess around.

If the reds win, Thaksin will be dictator for life...and he will kick out all foreigners.....within 30 days!!!!

Thaksin flew to Finland with 114 cases of cash....one of our members figured out how much cash you can carry in 114 large suitcases and trunks....without knowing

the the sizes of the containers, the currency, or note denominations...(This report is on another thread from a couple of days ago) Now that's talent for you.

Perhaps if we continue for another 7 weeks and another 20,000 posts at least some of us will figure out that we don't know what the hel_l we are talking about..... :D

Best post ever in the history of TV.

wow, quite a shot on thailand from the know-all from farangland on thai issues.

an award of sought should be given for this tirade. :):D :D

  10. Are we in the edge of a kind of civil war between yellow and red ? Situation is really strange ... A call for election would be the best solution ,let the people decide. Its scary actually .

It would be if an election could decide this issue. Sadly, neither side has shown much predilection to see constitutionally seated governments as legitimate. Until they're prepared to do so, an election won't solve much if anything.

The traditional source of legitimacy is waning. The question is what will replace it.

Excellent point. How much longer can this country afford to be governed by mob rule?

until farangs are branded as cheap charlies and are stranded at the airport with no food and money and no onward ticket back home and sleeping on newspapers at the airport and rioting like the brits did recently....much to the chagrin of the other snobbish expats at the airport and in tv columns here..... :)

    mob rule, what mob rule?

traditional source of legitimacy? you don't mean illegitimacy, do you?

is that a fish or a cat or a salad dressing with a fancy name?

friend, thailand here, not avatarland, mate. :D

  11. Sondhi, the yellow shirt founder and leader, has a few tricks up his sleeve. He's going to get all his rich freinds to withdraw their billions from the banks to cripple the Thai economy.

Then they are going to stop eating rice and give their mia nois to s*x tourists to cripple Isaan revenues.

wow, what a revelation of how thailand works!

this scoop deserves a pullitzer prize or something. quite a sccop must say. better than entertainment tonite show.! :):D :D

no wonder farangs are getting all the crumbs and re-runs....... :D

...and most farangs thought they never had it so good, OMG! :D

  12. Oh Joy, the grenades have started again in Chiang Mai.

Although there are less people here to be hit by a grenade... there are fewer places that farang and tourists hang out.

    This sucks.

should have listened to your housing agent before....chiangmai. thaksin country, is a bad investment.period.

    location, location, location.

    bangkok will always be better.

never too late to move , you know.

with sondhi and gang dumping their mia-nois, essentials like beer, etc. etc. will soon be steeply discounted........ :):D:D

Thanks, but no thanks... Lived next to London for 30 years... city life just bores me, seen it, done it ...but then I studied Biology at uni, so I like wilderness!

Plus I have spent years in Africa... so when the Thai's start giving burning 'tire necklaces'... then it's time to move on...

    convincing! :D .

  13. So now we have PAD on one side, reds on the other side and government and military getting caught in the middle with a multicoloured support group. Interesting the way this is playing politically or being played.

Not quite. The PAD, Government, Army and Courts are just different manifestations of the Elites who are at last loosing their grip on power. Never a pretty sight, but they are losing it.

When ASTV and Nation go off air you will know it's over.

PAD had a lot of military backing last time. This is waning now and other matters will give their support base less cohesion.

not quite...remember the sneaky sondhi and his friends are dumping their mia-nois ....could be they are dumping them to the soldiers to buy back the soldiers' allegiance.

today's army does not just march to the tune of their stomachs, today's soldiers are great beaver hunters too, mate. :D:):D :D

  14. Yesterday's article in the Straits Times quoting Aung San Suu Kyi's opinion on the Thai crisis is probably a lot more illuminating than any of this nonsense.

quoting the straits times of singapore is like quoting the german " des spiegel" or any thai newspaper or straw polls. be original and one will be more believable. most asian newspapers are not reliable as sources of truths. they often quote others and slant it to their own vested interests. as such, anug san suu kyi's opinion on the thai crisis may not really be that illuminating and may actually turn out to be more nonsensical especially from a newspaper source like the straits times of singapore which is very pro the military junta of myannmar. :) remember, the very military junta that locks up aung san s kyi carries out a very brisk trade in miltary weapons with the straits times ' government of singapore .

how do you trust a double-speak newspaper??

  15. The authoritarian farangs who post here are likely to get what they are drooling for - a massacre.

So the Reds threaten this, that & the other? So what else power have the poor got? They have been blocked from the ballot, they got no machine guns, tanks or artillery, & little money.

Their crooked 'leader' is removed by the equally crooked mafiosi of BKK.

What they got left but protest & verbals?

Whenever democracy raises its head in Thailand, the answer from BKK is a massacre. If the rednecks read a little history, they would know this. But authoritarians don't want to know. They don't want democracy, they want 'peace, law & order' - like you get in a prison or a graveyard. The residents there have limited ability to disturb the fun of expat wrinklies. The latter will be able to smile on in the Land of Smiles.

Others, pray for a miracle. OGT

each passing day increases the suicidal tendencies of many.

    yes, pray for a miracle.

bangkok will soon turn red with " yellows'"," reds"" , "farangs'" and others' blood.

yes, peace, law and order is the rednecks' pseudonym for modern day absolute slavery :)

the rednecks will careless for anything else. :D

  16. correct me if i am mistaken.

most of the faces in the photos tell me they don't look like the elites of thailand and are therefore not yellows at heart.

    again i stand corrected. :D

Are you trying to suggest that not all anti-reds are yellows????

    quite the contrary. :D

Suggesting that because you are anti-red that you must be yellow is much the same as saying that if you are pro-red then you are pro-Thaksin.

    whybother, don't bother.

what is in your mind and what is mind?

    mind is matter.

so never mind ......which is which..

otherwise everyone will get hot and bothered here.

    goodnite and saluit. :)

  17. These were taken on the 2nd or 3rd gathering here of the multi-colored shirts whose numbers have grown significantly in their rallies while the red mobs numbers have gone down considerably. Anyone who denies these facts are delusional.

    23602_1425217036432_1412942257_31106672_3989359_n.jpg

    23602_1425216956430_1412942257_31106670_7020746_n.jpg

that's because the red shirts sent some of their members to these yellow shirt rallies doning yellow shirts.......

    just like vice-versa

    :D

not quite....the yellow bosses paid their cheap isaan workers to wear yellow and join their anti-red protests besides threatening the isaan workers that they may lose their jobs if they do not put on yellow shirts as demanded. :D

GET REAL, GUYS. anyone can wear any color if the price is right - and for the record, most thais would.

"an army marches on its stomach" napolean bonarpate. :)

  18. the yellow shirts bangkok taipans paid their normally red shirt isaan workers 5000bahts each to wear yellow shirts and asked them to protest against their "brothers" in bangkok.

either way, looks like being from isaan after all has its plus points at this time.

the yellow taipans are finally realising they must never exploit the reds at the workplace. :)

Even IF there are no red shirts being paid just to be there, they are still only a minority.

who has more babies? the elites or the poor? what percentage of thailand's population are farmers and what percentage of thais rule thailand's population?

figure this out and one will know who the minority is in thailand. :D

    please define "elite"

WIKIPEDIA CAN HELP YOU HERE BETTER THAN ME. PLEASE REFER. :D

  19. the yellow shirts bangkok taipans paid their normally red shirt isaan workers 5000bahts each to wear yellow shirts and asked them to protest against their "brothers" in bangkok.

You are assuming that all farmers are red supporters. That is simply not the case. :D

if i make less than 100 baht a day on the farm, and someone comes along and offer me 500bahts a day plus a free ride to and from bangkok , which color do you think i will chose to be in?

i aM ASSUMING MOST FARMERS WILL CHOOSE TO BE IN RED, WITH SOME EXCEPTIONS OF COURSE. :D .
