  1. Anyone know if an English speaking tutor/teacher/school is available for a grade 3 student for a month or two? we are looking at moving to Thailand (from Canada) for a few months, but the only constraint we have is with our child missing school. Ideally we would want 3 to 5 days per week. Would a local school accept a child for a few weeks?
  2. How do the blind do in Pattaya? Assuming he won’t care about the prettiest girl. Probably pick the sweetest voice instead. thinking about writing a movie about this.
  3. The beaches and water look fantastic. Surprised this area isn’t more popular. I booked a family trip for a week on Pattaya and was beginning to regret it. Miss the nice beaches/water.
  4. Anyone recommend the best things to do in satathip?
  5. Amazing answer. I do like the C-grade/level temples that you never read about. I have stumbled on a few in sisaket and they are fun to explore. Seems lots of Angkor remnants all over the place. also is the sisaket border open for westerners for day visits to the large border temple (preach vihear) I am getting mixed answers on this. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2575485/thailand-awaits-reopening-of-tourism-access-to-preah-vihear
  6. I am no stickman. Just thought he had some good observations. Disappointed in the conversation on here though.
  7. Anyone highlights along the way to Buriram and susaket? Any smaller Angkor temples not to far off the main road? Driving with the family in November ultimately rolling into sisaket (the Paris of Isarn). always amazed at some of the old Angkor ruins strewn around the border provinces.

Nice massage place in the middle of town. not much else going on in that town. Night market by the train station.
  9. I do miss the blog format and hope we see a comeback of blogging. I have read stickman on and off for around 2 decades.
  10. old stickman doing a Pattaya centric weekly column. https://www.stickmanbangkok.com/weekly-column/2024/08/pattaya-this-week-2/
  11. Looking for a spirit house that is packed down in a box? Comes in pieces so if is easy to take on the plane.
  12. Likely the way we are headed. Likely a few months in Thailand per year. I lived in Thailand around 30 years ago for several years on and off. I would always move back home after around a year as the chaos would wear me out. I would then miss Thailand and move back and the cycle would continue. I do think the noise is less now in Thailand compared to 20 years ago and I can afford a higher quality of life in Thailand vs the shanties I stayed in when I was young.
  13. Hard rock hotel would be the people to ask.
  14. Looking at retirement in Pattaya as Vancouver is getting to expensive. Do other Vancouverites miss the seasons and the nature/quietness of Vancouver? is there a large Vancouver contingent in Pattaya area?
