  1. I have always been healthy but upped it a notch here. I did cut sugar out of my diet around 2 months ago and may be reaping the rewards now.
  2. I usually don’t sleep so much. I think I am just relaxed. Body recovering from years of stress.
  3. Been married to Thai wife for close to 20 years. No need to party hard every night. I go out occasionally in the evenings and people watch.
  4. Been in Thailand for 2 weeks and I still wake up with the sun and go to bed at 8 pm every night. I do enjoy the cool mornings walks along the beach. Best part of the day in from 6-8 am. Surprised so few westerners are out. I have a 8 year old kid with me so parenting takes priority. Helping with homework during the days etc. and getting kid in bed early. edit: I don’t actually fall asleep into around 930 to 10. Still get a solid 8 hours sleep/night.
  5. We got out of town by 8 am.
  6. I am now in isarn and my BO varies between cinnamon and roses. Quite strange.
  7. How bad is heading to isarn going to be on Friday around lunch?
  8. From Canada. Lots of processed foods and colours and preservatives. It is true what they say about “you are what you eat” work is fairly stress free but still 35 hours/week.
  9. Only the women look like trolls.
  10. My culture forbids showers. edit: i joke.
  11. Not sure if it is change of diet or the stress free lifestyle? Or maybe using the hotel pool 4 times per day? I have been wearing my shirts 2 days and they don’t smell. Wife has said the same thing. I was several kilometres/hours a day and sweat but no stank.
  12. Stopped eating candy/sugar helped me lose weight.
  13. Anyone know if an English speaking tutor/teacher/school is available for a grade 3 student for a month or two? we are looking at moving to Thailand (from Canada) for a few months, but the only constraint we have is with our child missing school. Ideally we would want 3 to 5 days per week. Would a local school accept a child for a few weeks?
  14. How do the blind do in Pattaya? Assuming he won’t care about the prettiest girl. Probably pick the sweetest voice instead. thinking about writing a movie about this.
  15. The beaches and water look fantastic. Surprised this area isn’t more popular. I booked a family trip for a week on Pattaya and was beginning to regret it. Miss the nice beaches/water.
  16. Anyone recommend the best things to do in satathip?
  17. Amazing answer. I do like the C-grade/level temples that you never read about. I have stumbled on a few in sisaket and they are fun to explore. Seems lots of Angkor remnants all over the place. also is the sisaket border open for westerners for day visits to the large border temple (preach vihear) I am getting mixed answers on this. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2575485/thailand-awaits-reopening-of-tourism-access-to-preah-vihear
  18. I am no stickman. Just thought he had some good observations. Disappointed in the conversation on here though.
  19. Anyone highlights along the way to Buriram and susaket? Any smaller Angkor temples not to far off the main road? Driving with the family in November ultimately rolling into sisaket (the Paris of Isarn). always amazed at some of the old Angkor ruins strewn around the border provinces.
  20. Nice massage place in the middle of town. not much else going on in that town. Night market by the train station.
  21. I do miss the blog format and hope we see a comeback of blogging. I have read stickman on and off for around 2 decades.
  22. old stickman doing a Pattaya centric weekly column. https://www.stickmanbangkok.com/weekly-column/2024/08/pattaya-this-week-2/
  23. Looking for a spirit house that is packed down in a box? Comes in pieces so if is easy to take on the plane.
