  1. Early 90-s I remember "purple crystals" in water at food stalls. Disgusting taste and didn't save me from getting severe infection. Just a flashback. Nothing have changed over 40 years though. Your health is in your own hands, please don't count on primary school knowledge of some vendor who makes money on those "drinking water dispensers". No need to analyze "do they pour clean water", "how RO works" and "what is RO after all" We are in TH. Almost everybody here had the "unlucky" case of "local responsibilities". Just say NO. How difficult is it?
  2. My guess there were more than 378 camels. Most got away somehow without criminal charges maybe by cutting some sort of "deal" w/customs. Is it possible?
  3. How cute! So let me get this straight - Mr.A. bought some property in Phuket being promised 90 years of lease by real estate company's manager/owner. Later he found that deal was "fake" a.k.a. "not completely correct" So Mr.A. feels kinda "fooled" and "upset" and later he decides to cancel the deal. Real estate agency got 2-3%, owner 95%, the rest went into expenses. Now, Mr.A. requests to annul the deal and his money back, but most of the money gone. What options left to him? 1. Bring crooked agency to the court? Useless 2. Threaten the owner? Hm. Tough job 3. Bite the bullet and admit his fault? 4. Cry to every forum and newsgroups on Reddit about TH? 5. Find some farang ding-dong and sell the property to him? <<<< best choice, imno. Any other options?
  4. 15.000/378 = close to 40kg per person. Interesting: Which commercial airline allows such a luggage weight?
  5. I think this is very wrong and biased assumption. Out of all foreigners I've met in TH Brits were quite friendly and safe to deal, work and drink with. Unlike some herrings and mackerel folks.
  6. My guess is that they will abandon this "improvement" just month before "high season" i.e. about Sept-Oct. It is nothing else just fill'n'print webform, nothing to do with sophisticated Web 2.0 or some mega-database. Remember COVID cards and some fancy QR codes? same-same.
  7. You noticed too? Sure, nukelar plant is happy to employ semiliterate as technicians any given day, twice on weekends.
  8. Today is Season 3 (Thailand based) Episode 7th is available to download and thanks God there're Fast Forward button and Skip.
  9. Ratchayothin, Ratchadapisek, Lardprao roads are paralyzed. "Motosies" (not correct wording) are making fortunes! Fares are higher than during Big Bangkok Flood.
  10. Back 15 years ago I met a guy who proudly kicked teen from his scooter for wearing German Swastika T-shirt. Not an Indian Swastika, but exactly Nazi's. So what? Did it make world better? "I don't think so, Tim!" Earlier, the Consular of Israel send her protest regarding school's costume show in CM. Oh, My God, kids marched in Nazi's attire/entourage! Did it make any change? Nope, just noisy ripples in press. "Starship Troopers" actors wore uniforms that resembled German Nazi's. So what? All we remember are boobs of the redhead and huge roaches. Yet... Prime Minister of country C. proudly applauded to Nazi collaborator. Did it make world better? Nope, it made it worst. Now it's OK & legit to praise them as "defenders of democracy, freedom and independence". Do your math.
  11. Not so ignorant. I saw few times how employers deal with wounded "under-labor". Once he (some semi-boss a.k.a. local poo-yai) just dropped them near Phayathai hospital and drove away. The way they treat them is very, utterly arrogant.
  12. would you kindly be more specific? Might avoid some awkward question 😉
  13. QR code leading to the page with all relevant pictures. very handy though. Before it I exactly what many done - laminated 50% reduced size copies in the wallet. I'm not looking for policeman in the wrong mood to argue "show me the exact article regarding my passport" Since 1997 only 2 times been asked "may I see your passport?" but why to rebel?
  14. probably 43 of officially employed. But how many of "not-so-legal" labor?
