  1. There is a german dentist woman near the morning market: Mrs. Fisher: 075-630468, 088-7661587

But I recommend the pretty modern dentist clinic not far from Vogue: 075-622778. Same prices, but really modern with X-ray as well.

  2. Galaxy S3. Yes, the data speed in Ao Nang is blazing fast also. H+ I think on paper is up to 42Mbps or something like that. Anyway it was plenty fast enough for everything I ever want to do on my phone.

    Thank you for the information!

Just one more important question? How much do you pay for that? Do you pay a monthly package?

  3. OK so I will answer my own question. Problem was, I was still using old Truemove SIM. Went to True kiosk at Tesco Krabi and they switched me onto the new Truemove-H system and bingo - blazing data speeds like I had before in Bangkok. Phone shows H+ on the data connection rather than 3G in Bangkok and is just as good if not better speeds.

What kind of phone you have? Did you try it in Ao Nang, does the speed the same?

  4. Poor, poor girl. Really, this kind of thing gives me nightmares.

I think I read where the guy was beating her so badly that she had to make a choice, submit or get beaten to death. Then he raped her.

These animals walk among us, and yes, quite often get preferential "connection" treatment no matter the crime, shameful.

If I had a 19 year old daughter here, not sure I would let her out of my sight.

No penalty is enough for the perp, this gene needs to be taken out of the pool.

I pray the girl will be able to lead a normal life.

"These animals walk among us" - and you can find this animal every night in a bar in Ao Nang!!! Doesn't hiding and proud of this story!!!

  5. next weeks question where do you buy nice fitting underpants from

It could be interesting for everybody:

After few weeks of searching, finally I've found a nice raincoat. Actually it's a huge poncho, covering the whole motorbike. I tried it in the last 2 days and it just works perfectly! It was strong wind and rain yesterday afternoon, but this raincoat did't leak at all, I was only a little bit wet at my feet. Finally!

I've found it at a shop in Ao Nang, but this was the last one. I payed 600 baht for it.

If you search "dryve raincoat"in Google, you will find the distributor, and you will pay them only 500 baht.

    Safe drive!

Ummm really safe. Covers the front AND rear lights:o

    sent from my Wellcom A90+

Actually, you don't need an underpant, because only your feet will be a little bit wet in the big storm.

Yes, it covers the front lights with a transparent material, but it didn't disturbe be driving nighttime. But it doesn't cover the rear lights as I'm sitting on the raincoat. :-) With my helmet it's a perfect protection and yes, it's SAFE!

  7. Generally a private boat around the hong island area is 2500 bht a day

Poda islands maybe 2000 bht these are private boats tours are cheaper but you are with a boatfull of other tourists

I don't think ypu will be going to trang by boat it is difficult to get to islands down there at this time of year trang is 2 hours by minivan from ao nang

thanks for your reply, i should have said before, but im looking for the prices from the kiosk on ao nang beach.

They are prices from the boat kiosks in ao nang railey is 80 bht one way but you have to wait for 8 people , can get to poda for 300 but again have to wait for 8 people all other prices mentioned are for private boat hire for the day .

The organised tours with a boatfull of other tourists range from 500-1000 bht per person

Since last year Ao Nang-Railay is 100 baht one-way.

  8. Did you every walk through Ao Nang ? You'll find at least 5 dental offices along the road side. You should not only look for a massage with happy ending.

Thank you for the useful comments! I'm looking for a trustworthy dentist, this was the point of this new topic.

And sorry for my "disgusting" post about the massage! wai.gifcheesy.gif

  9. Klongmuang, thanks for your reply. But does the lack of other replies mean that there aren't any good pubs at all, or are all the local farangs very unfriendly. I did find one website beside the Irish Rover for a pub called the little Longhorn, it looked reasonably busy and seemed a clean enough place, lots of pics but very little info about the bar though. Any more info would be very welcome thanks all.

No Tony, I don't think so that the local farangs are unfriendly. But it's true, there are not too many good bars in Ao Nang and especially now, they are very quiet, they have only few customers. And anyway, Ao Nang is not a really good place to have party or visit a bar, because the locals are mostly "calmed down" person, if you know what I mean. :-)

The Longhorn is OK, but there are mostly thai live music. It's in the Center Point where you find many other bars, too.

  10. Spaghetti house pizza is average and I guess Titti guesthouse's pizza and the Red Devil pizza is the same. Looks and tastes like the real pizza from 150 baht. Higly recommended!

    Hi Lyanika,

earlier on you mentioned the pizza at Sala Bua-Lo Spuntino was excellent, but here you say Red Devil pizza is "average"?

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Red Devil Umberto's (from Sala Bua-Lo Spuntino) outfit?

Sorry, I formulated it wrong: Spaghetti house's pizza is average. Titti and Red Devil pizzas are the same quality: good. But you still can not compare it with the Sala Bua pizza. But it's much cheaper. And yes, Umberto is the owner of Sala Bua and the Red Devil as well.

  11. I just ate my best and biggest burger in Thailand ever - luckily here in Ao Nang!

2 x 150 gr. ground beef inside, it made my day! :-)

Oh, the place is a new red building at the junction to Ao Namao, the name is Reddevils or something like this.

Yes, if I am not mistaken, I believe this is Chef Umberto from Sala Bua/Lo Spuntino's outfit.

Bound to have good food, for sure, looks like an epic burger. That sounds like a good name for an over the top burger "The Epic Burger".

Sounds good. What sort of price out of interest? How about quality and value of the rest of the menu?

As I remember, the spicy burger (1 beef, bacon, cheese inside) was 220 and the double was bit more than 300. All came with french fries and was more than enough. You can not compare these burgers with Burger king's cheap plastic burger. :-)

I saw on the menu different steaks (T-bone, striploin, sirloin, pork chop, chicken and sausages), I will give a try for a steak on this weekend. They have pastas, pizzas and some appetizers as well.
