Go on then! Help a thicko! What is a condom for a bottle?

Yep! SuperRich. However, take some ID.

A scam artist that took the OP for 7 baht!!!!! Bernie Madoff move over.
Sounds more like a nutcase in the phone box!

Visit the embassy, pick up the form, fill it out and return it with money, translations and photos, return 1 week later to collect.
I did it at the same time as I got the birth certificate. Simple!

No human being deserves to be chipped and tracked like an animal. Then again peoples behavior is sometimes akin to animals - sheep.
Err! What about drug traffickers, arms smugglers, robbers on the run or terrorists? Be good to track them, right?

Maybe she felt she had not had enough of the Thai legal system.
Excuse my ignorance, but I guess she would have a new passport and her name is not unique, so how would they know?
Date of birth and name. not to many the same, this alone would get you a closer looking at.
Is that really enough? There could well be many Sandra Gregorys born in the same year and date. It is not as though her name is Arazmaz Deckchair Huckster Ramsbottom.
Do they have a list of photos to compare against?

To the bleaters: What is the difference between eating a pig and a dog?

In theory I agree, but do you think anyone in power is smart enough to be able to notice and do something about it? As I see it anyone in power is busy filling their pockets before they are put somewhere inactive.

From the BBC.
Eat kangaroo to 'save the planet'
Kangaroos could be good for the environment
Switching from beef to kangaroo burgers could significantly help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, says an Australian scientist.
The methane gas produced by sheep and cows through belching and flatulence is more potent than carbon dioxide in the damage it can cause to the environment.
But kangaroos produce virtually no methane because their digestive systems are different.
Dr George Wilson, of the Australian Wildlife Services, urges farming them.
He says they have a different set of micro-organisms in their guts to cows and sheep.
Sheep and cattle account for 11% of Australia's carbon footprint and over the years, there have been various proposals to deal with the problem.
Now Dr Wilson believes kangaroos might hold the answer.
He said: "It tastes excellent, not unlike venison - only a different flavour."
The country already produces 30 million kangaroos farmed by landholders in the outback.
But Dr Wilson is keen to see that population dramatically increased to produce the same amount of kangaroo meat as that currently produced by conventional livestock.
Methane is about 25 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide molecule for molecule.
But the much greater volume of CO2 generated by human activities such as industry and transport means that it is the largest contributor to modern-day global warming.

Me too! Planning to drive cross country in January. Would prefer a pick-up.

I understand that Australians have been urged to eat Kangaroos in order to keep their numbers down, so it seems to me Thais should be urged to eat the menace of dogs on the streets. They are a scourge in BKK and with a rising number of human deaths from rabies it seems mad to me that they are not being 'removed' from the streets.

What do you judge to be "Authentic"? It is a pretty straight FWD dish.

This has happened to me twice. The first time I demanded it back whilst stood in the office and the second time I deadlocked the doors and told them they could have the keys when I got my money. This is a common tactic, judging by conversations I have had/heard. The landlords or their staff presume you are going home and maybe they can pocket it.

Seems a fair response to a growing menace of immigration abuse. Those that should enter will be allowed to do so.
-
To me it seems that if you have money, it is OK. Like many negative things in Thai society money makes it OK. Just my view.
-
You have to remember that because we have these rights in Britain or wherever, it does not mean Thais enjoy them. Big C, Tesco and Carrfore are only obliged to follow the rules in the country they do business.
If you refuse to buy TVs and suchlike from these supermarkets, where can you go? Don't for a second think that Powerbuy or Data IT are a stroke better.
I once bought a Casio camera from the Emporium. It broke after 19 days, I returned it and the manager refused to even speak with me. It was nothing to do with him. I had to go to Casio repairs on Ekkamai and they told me that I had to pay 7k to have it repaired. It seems that taking photos with it in Thailand was enough to break it.
Very poor service all round.

They offer a fine service...for the price! I have flown with them many times and I have experienced a few delays. Now for my point. If you are delayed do not go for a stroll as I did on one occasion. The staff told me 1 hour, so I took a walk. I just happened to notice that there were no people milling about after 20 or so minutes and dashed back. They were closing the gates and I just got there in time. When they can go, they go!

Which other buses should I avoid so as not to look like one of 'those' people?

With True it is easy. Call them up and tell them you do not want the 'Service' of unrequested SMS. After a few days they drop off to just the odd one from True and, of course, AirAsia.

I am told that the rivalry often goes way back in time. I can just imagine "Oi! My white shirt looks better than yours!"

I first heard about it in the book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex, which I highly recommend. I looked up the story of the raft and was enthralled. I would like to see the picture in real life.

I have tried a couple and they are quite poor. I would suggest some of the factual books on life in Issan etc. I have found those very enjoyable.

How about you change Martin to Tex and make him a wise cracking guy that shoots first and asks questions later. Swap the Mexicans for Arabs and make all the Myans as hot as that girl in Prison break and I think you will be on to a winner. Wait! Has that been done?
