  1. Maybe she felt she had not had enough of the Thai legal system.

Excuse my ignorance, but I guess she would have a new passport and her name is not unique, so how would they know?

Date of birth and name. not to many the same, this alone would get you a closer looking at.

Is that really enough? There could well be many Sandra Gregorys born in the same year and date. It is not as though her name is Arazmaz Deckchair Huckster Ramsbottom.

Do they have a list of photos to compare against?

  2. From the BBC.

Eat kangaroo to 'save the planet'

Kangaroos could be good for the environment

Switching from beef to kangaroo burgers could significantly help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, says an Australian scientist.

The methane gas produced by sheep and cows through belching and flatulence is more potent than carbon dioxide in the damage it can cause to the environment.

But kangaroos produce virtually no methane because their digestive systems are different.

Dr George Wilson, of the Australian Wildlife Services, urges farming them.

He says they have a different set of micro-organisms in their guts to cows and sheep.

Sheep and cattle account for 11% of Australia's carbon footprint and over the years, there have been various proposals to deal with the problem.

Now Dr Wilson believes kangaroos might hold the answer.

He said: "It tastes excellent, not unlike venison - only a different flavour."

The country already produces 30 million kangaroos farmed by landholders in the outback.

But Dr Wilson is keen to see that population dramatically increased to produce the same amount of kangaroo meat as that currently produced by conventional livestock.

Methane is about 25 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide molecule for molecule.

But the much greater volume of CO2 generated by human activities such as industry and transport means that it is the largest contributor to modern-day global warming.

  3. You have to remember that because we have these rights in Britain or wherever, it does not mean Thais enjoy them. Big C, Tesco and Carrfore are only obliged to follow the rules in the country they do business.

If you refuse to buy TVs and suchlike from these supermarkets, where can you go? Don't for a second think that Powerbuy or Data IT are a stroke better.

I once bought a Casio camera from the Emporium. It broke after 19 days, I returned it and the manager refused to even speak with me. It was nothing to do with him. I had to go to Casio repairs on Ekkamai and they told me that I had to pay 7k to have it repaired. It seems that taking photos with it in Thailand was enough to break it.

    Very poor service all round.

  4. They offer a fine service...for the price! I have flown with them many times and I have experienced a few delays. Now for my point. If you are delayed do not go for a stroll as I did on one occasion. The staff told me 1 hour, so I took a walk. I just happened to notice that there were no people milling about after 20 or so minutes and dashed back. They were closing the gates and I just got there in time. When they can go, they go!
