  1. And then his problems started....... No working permit !!

    there will be no problem,

I worked many years in my wife's company, with my skills I could help her in the business without a work permit,

also no show of money for the one year visa, we needed to show business and tax papers

Are you sure about this?? I ask because my wife have small shop and I want to help her but I'm afraid of getting fined and deported.

very sure, I have done that for 8 years before I retired, it has to be that your skills helps to generate more income for the family business,

you have to go with your wife to the immigration and clear that before you start to do something

  2. I suggest you first get a 60 day extension to visit your wife. She would need to go with you when you apply. You will need your marriage certificate her house book and ID card plus copies.

Then you could do a border run. If from a G7 country would get a 30 day entry.at the border.

I am in Bangkok with my family, but instead my usual 90 days non-immigrant I have a 30 day tourist until 27 of June

I go back to Europe on August 26,

    the question was;

where can I do a 60 or 90 day visa easy, without spending hours in a bus and standing in lines

You can do the 60 day extension with the entry you have now you do not need the non-o.. Just a trip to immigration at CW pay 1900 baht and you will have a 60 day extension.

That would take you to about the 25th of August. Which would mean an overstay of less than 24 hours for which there would be no fine.

my wife was last week there to ask about extension here,

    they said no,

I will go tomorrow myself again

  4. Hi Guys,

I am married with a Thai lady since 1993, we have a 21 year old son, had for the most time here a 1 year visa,

3 years ago I had cancer surgery in Europe, since then I spend 3 months in TH and 3 months in my home country for health check ups,

I send my passport for non-immigrant visa to the Thai embassy, including 55 Euro for the visa,

worked ok until last time, on travel day I was at the embassy to pick up my passport, there was no passport, lost in the postal system or at the embassy,

got in about 1 hour an Emergency Passport, arrived in TH, got a 30 days tourist stamp,

my return flight is on 26 of August,

I know Penang well and wanted to fly there for visa, bad luck, Malaysia don't accept my emergency passport,

it is accepted in Myanmar, Cambodia, Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong and Laos,

    I live in BKK,

can anyone of you be so kind and give me an idea for an easy trip, I am to old for overnight bus tours,

    Thanks

  5. Hi guys,

Thailand has been a heaven for criminals for decades, looks like now it will hopefully end,

you need only to check the media how many crimes are now been committed by foreigners, many foreigners own businesses and houses illegal (Thai wife owner), not pay taxes and so on,

I hope that Thailand can get rid of this people and let the honest stay on,

I arrived here in 1991, made my visa runs for 2 years, got married with a lovely Thai lady (not from a bar), we have a 21 year old son, over the years I had WP, later we had our own business,

after 16 years with a one year non immigrant O visa, on extension they have seen that the business licence was from a year before (my wife forgot to renew it) and I had to leave the next day, because I couldn't show the 400 000 Baht required,

it didn't change anything that I am married with a Thai citizen and have a Thai son, so I accepted it how it was,

since then I spend half of the year in my home country in Europe and have no problem with Thai immigration,

it makes me really sick to read in this forum of people complaining about that there visa runs are now over,

    lets see,

  6. it is very simple,

(I am here since 1990 and have seen a lot)

the rich Thais are very much against that a farang can buy land, many of this Thais are lawmakers, means

in the government, keeping up the system makes them richer

as it is now, the farmer with a lot of dept have to sell his land, the big shoot

Thai is just waiting for it and get it for peanuts, could a farang have the right to buy

the farmer would get for sure more out of it, sad to see that Thai is cheating Thai

  7. I have this VISA sh.t luckily only once a year and call it in my case unfair. I'm married with a wonderful Thai woman for close to 10 years. Together we are proud and happy parents off our daughter. Yearly I have to proof myself again. I entered years ago nice amount off Euro's and multiplied this amount quiet a few times thanks to good, property, investments. Our property-evaluated by 2 banks (I paid them both for taxation report just out off curiosity). The properties and land is evaluated at around 9 figures in Thai Baht before the decimal! But Immigration/ Thai authorities doesn't give a sh.t about this. Because we keep investing and always improving our properties. We do have sometimes Cash Flow shortage. If I have this around new Yearly VISA application I'm completely stressed and they drive me nuts with this. This gives then again a huge blow to our normally happy family.

This 400.000 baht regulation is very unfair to people like me. I provide many Thai laborers/families most construction people year after year with an above minimum wages income. I have staff on and around my properties and our land. We feed many families and provide a lot off help to a village in Isaan. i keep investing to secure my wife and kid, for when I pass away (15 years elder then my partner and weak health but fairly good brains) but sometimes Immigration rules are unfair (and always their; "It is Up to You Remark". Thailand should treat us and give us the same opportunities as Thai's get in foreign country's.

Check article 17.1 & 17.2 UN Manifest for Human Rights!

See where wealthy Thai's own easily and legally private property abroad (Thaksin as an example), but many wealthy Thai have the same. Many Thai's working abroad (Europe, US and so on) can buy and OWN.

China is open for foreign investment, even Cuba, Cambodia, Malaysia and so on, but Thailand is still old fashioned and over-protective. A limitation on maximum land-sizes and property could be understandable for security off food supply.

But current Visa & Ownership rights is out off time.

This only beneficiary to the wealthy Thai, many from Chinese origin (Shinawatra family). They "passed the test off time". I keep "wrestling and struggling" knowing that my beloved daughter & if they ever come my Grandchildren will not face the same unfair treatment. They will be Thai. But for me and my wife the system has been really unfair.

    I still love Thailand!

In a few weeks it will be my VISA turn again. And it looks this year more easy for me. Currently I'm Bank-book wise in the Safe-zone.

I understand your disappointment, but believe me, it makes no difference, you are long time here, you spend a lot of money here, you have children who are Thai, and it makes no difference your wife is Thai,

this country want to see money from a foreigner who wants to stay here, they found out how much western male persons love the women of this country, love the sun and the fun,

Thaksin was the first getting rough with the cheap charlies, he introduced many measures to get foreigners with no money out of the country early in his premiership , farrangs with money hat not so much problems,

and believe me, it makes no difference how much money you spend, how many years you living here, you will be all the time "the FARRANG" not respected very much, maybe as a milking cow they will "love" you,

some foreigners who managed to learn and speak reasonable Thai will integrate in the community and will be respected, also without money,

I myself came here 1991, found the women I am still married to, in the first month I was here, she was the maid of a friend of mine, she toke care of his two children, it needed 4 months to get this virgin convinced that I loved here,

our son is now 20, he is Thai and also has the citizenship of my home country in Europe,

this is only to explain another side why some newly arrived foreigners not getting far in this country,

99% of the people who I know here, live together with a Thai lady or are married to one. the girls comes mostly from a bar or had previous paid contact with foreigners,

I know several foreigner over the years, bought land, build houses, and the girl went on to the next guy with money,

    again on my side,

after 16 years of one year visa, I lost my status because my wife oversaw the year to renew the business license,

I had to do a 3 month visa run again like in the beginning of 1991 when I came here, but now I had a Thai wife and a Thai son,

this makes no difference to the immigration office, they said at that time, I could also leave the country when I don't like it here,

    so my friend,

    don't expect to much here,

    Franz

PS. I have a Thai friend I know for over 19 years, he is in my home country since 18 years, he has a permanent residency since the third year he his there, not have to pay for it like here, he bought a house, he is not restricted like we are here,

he can change job without to inform authority, not like here,

don't put to much weight in this country, I have since 2 years a home again in my home country,

and believe me, it's worth living there, after all that dirt for over 25 years in Asia

  8. Obviously he is important enough o have the pictures altered so nobody can recognize him. You don't see that at other not yet sentenced criminals. And he is probably right that nobody can touch him.. just think of the Red bull guy... its awfully quiet.

    Hi,

a Thai friend of mine has the photos unaltered on his facebook site, it's a brand new Range Rover, the license plate has 444, can't read the two Thai letters, the guy is about 25 to 30 years old,

looks like the typical rich kids in this country

  9. I still have a big doubt: How can possibly any foreigner "own" land throught nominees??? In any case they are renting that land, cuz the real owner is the nominee.coffee1.gif

a foreigner register a company limited partnership, him included 7 shareholders, Thai majority 51%, all signing shareholders get a one time commission, after a few weeks this shareholders "selling" to the foreigner, now he owns 100% of of the company, he appoints himself as MD and has signing rights, now he can buy land, build a house,

there is officially still one Thai person that signs the yearly reports or tax papers, this person will have a good extra income, mostly is this person the girlfriend of the foreigner,

I am since 20 years married here, and we still not own land and house, because also my Thai wife can't buy land when married to a foreigner,

  10. all of you are very nice people, wishing the guy rest in RIP,

I am since 20 years a resident of Bangkok and I have seen Bangkok burning in May 2010,

it came very close to my house, the burning stock exchange was just 200 meters away,
