    Pilotman......

My Thai wife and I are moving from los angeles to Rayong in 2 months, but we are looking for a real nice area to live. Can you suggest a few awesome areas to live near the ocean.....?

My own choices would be around the Mae Ram Phueng Beach area at the Khao Laen Ya National park end. about 15km East of Rayong. Other nice area is Ban Chang, around 18 Km west of Rayong City. If you take the time to drive around both of them, you can find very attractive locations and accommodation (houses and Condos) at very reasonable prices to either rent or buy. If you can be a bit further away from the sea and a little more off the beaten track, take a look slightly north of Rayong and the 36 road. Very attractive rural villages around that area. Hope that helps.

  2. Anything done in the sea in Pattaya is dangerous, simply because of the sewer state of the water.  It's full of all kinds of bacteria and trash. Go somewhere else is my recommendation, anywhere but there.

You only need netflix. awesome content. so much choice. you will be finding it hard which one to choose as theres so much on offer. only 400 baht a month. go for it. you will never unsubscribe. you will never need another service. highly recommended

Well yes and no.  I have UK Netflix and using the VPN, I get much better content than the Thai version.  It's okay, but too much missing for me.

Who would buy baht in any large quantity and why?

have you seen the exchange rate to almost all other currencies?   Currency speculation is a short term game. There would be lots of customers if the BoT released more currency. It's termed 'quantitative easing', as I'm sure that you know. Other Asian countries may well also buy baht to protect their own postilions and weaken a strong Asian currency, which the baht is at the moment.

That would make the baht go up not down.

If the B o T  sold Bhat to buy US dollars the baht would depreciate, albeit that it is a crude way to manipulate a national currency and the baht is not a particularly valued currency and therefor the move may be small. China did this for many years to keep the Yuan low value to aid their export drive.

Not long ago I read all the James Bond books from the first to the last.

It was interesting how many of the movies are a lot different from the books.

And it's funny that all newer movies which are not based on the original books still use movie titles from the "old" books.

In the books you could clearly picture what JB looked like, what his past was like, what he acted and reacted like.  They were (are) really entertaining, if very dated now. They (he) can't be 'modernised',  as he was a character of his time.
