1. My sister in law works at tanachart bank (bkk) and she earns 20k a month.

She started a few years back with about 12k.

Her wage increases almost every year by 1000 baht.

By the end of the year she also gets a 13th payout.

My brother in law is a policeman in some kind of special force and he gets around 12k/month and about 6k extra for working in the South.

  2. Just make sure to do things which you can't do in future..... Going out with friends, go to the cinema, even enjoying a meal in a restaurant... And of course sleep a lot because you will have a lack of sleep the first couple of days...

A private hospital will help you with the birth certificate and you just have to pick it up at your amphoer a few days later.

We bought a lot of baby clothes (most 2 pieces - trousers-pants) from different thai brands before birth however in the end we are only using bodysuits from H&M which are also cheaper.....

  3. Called the telephone number on the CTH website and They gave me a number of a local sale agent for my area.

Called them, picked up the satellite dish and receiver by myself and made an appointment with their technician for the same day ...(after his regular work) and paid 1000 baht for installation.

That was on Friday so just in time to watch football on the weekend..

Today true came and picked up their receiver. I even got the HDMI cable from true for free as I'm using it with the CTH receiver.

  4. usually many vegetarian restaurants are not using msg and they also offer brown rice *kao klong*

even in many food centers in shopping malls you can find it.
I really like the brown rice as it has a taste.

Usually normal restaurants are not using it because it is more expensive
5. nice try but I wouldn´t do it.

The immigration officer will check from which country you are coming from. As your stamp only says that you left Thailand but not entered another country,

I guess that will be a problem. Another problem will be, that you are in the departure terminal and that is a different immigration check point than the arrival.

so just take the trip to Malaysia and come back in the evening.

  6. if you are using a postal service like USPS, usually you don't have to pay any additional customs taxes.
I ordereing many items from the States (i.e. one iphone 3gs and one blackberry, shoes)
The items are usually marked as "other" or "gift" on the declaration paper with a lower value. Until now, I never paid any customs taxes
with packages wich have been sent with the standard postal services.
I ordered once a watch, which has been sent by DHL from Europe, and I had to pay taxes.

USPS should be fine

7. well the fino and the scoopy are the same style.

However the fino one is much longer on the market and now it is the 2nd generation or maybe the 3rd generation already. (minor changes and improvements)

So I would prefer the Yamaha one. Also there are much more spare parts to modify the Fino.

But acutally it is up to your GF as she has to ride the scooter

    As a man I wouldn't ride a Girlie Bike ;-)

  8. Hi,

well you do need a Residence certificate to renew your drivers license.

In Bangkok you need a valid Non Immigrant visa to get the Residence certificate. It costs about 150 THB.

I tried it with my Tourist visa one month ago and the didn't give me that paper :-(

Also keep in mind, that the Immigration office in Suan Plu has moved to a new location. The old Immigration office only opens on Saturdays.

  9. Hi

well in front of the Thai Embassy there are a few "visa agents" waiting for customers. Usually they are beside the street in a tent and they will

    ask you.

For the service, they will charge you about THB 1000 toTHB 2000.

If you are coming late to the embassy, there will be a lot of people waiting for the visas. So the service is quite ok, because you don't have to

waste your time. Otherwise, if you do it by yourself, everythink would be free, as the visa is still free of charge.

You can pick up the passport the next day.

    Cheers

  10. Hi

I would recommed to go to Bangkok.

There are so many professional car audio shops. Much better price than in Phuket as

all the sound systems have to be ordered in Bangkok.

Rocket Sound in Ratchata is very good. Just google the name and you will find it.
