Thai Airways truly is a lost cause when even now - as the airline is undergoing "restructuring" - people are still sitting on (or are appointed to) its board who have absolutely nothing to do with the aviation industry. It's like making a tailor chairman of the blacksmith association.
IIRC the guy who turned around JAL a decade or so ago had no previous aviation experience.

However when it suits them they believe the government that there are no local corvid transmissions if it helps their case.
IMHO corvid is still out there just not found by testing and opening bars and forgetting social distancing will start a second wave.
So either you believe the goverment that there is no corvid out there and we should open it all up forget about all measures and return to our previous lives or you believe (like i do) that its still out there but that the government just does not find it because of lack of testing and opening up would be a problem.
I too want to go back to pre corvid but I think its still too early.
The second wave would have came with the opening of markets and a crowded BTS.

Many people fail to understand that Thai people are learning English as a second language and NOT first language.
It's perfectly normal not to speak perfect English as long as people can understand them.
I've known many foreigners who still can't speak perfect Thai after many years of studying Thai.
Agreed, also when Thais mispronounce English most of us can get the jist of what they are saying. The other way round not so, which I find both funny and frustrating at the same time.

They should bite the bullet and appoint a non Thai as CEO. I'd suggest they approach the Japanese guy who turned JAL around, he worked miracles there.

I believe Thai's have stronger immune systems due to much higher exposure to pollution.
Perhaps it is the mass exposure to high octaine somtam that keeps the virus at bay.
On a serious note this is great news, I hope this trend keeps up and some sense of normality can return.

Tried to blow a candle out while wearing a mask?
This will show you how "useless" these are.
Hardly a scientific test. The mere fact you can breathe through it means it is porous. The size of the virus is microscopic the pores on the masks (which don't form a seal on your face anyway) are not. There's a reason why workers in hazardous labs wear bio suits.

As per usual with these government-concocted schemes.
So how will they distinguish between visiting tourists and foreign residents? Will I still have to automatically pay that embedded fee although I, a resident of some 30 years, hold a comprehensive first-class health insurance policy?
I travel very frequently for business (well, I used to before Covid). Does that mean I'll have to shoulder that compulsory fee each and every time I purchase a ticket, i.e. 12 - 15 times a year?
Same here, I also don't know how they would apply it on airfares, would foriegn airlines have to discount Thai nationals 300 Baht?. Perhaps a return to the 500 Baht departure tax.

Moron? A bit harsh, these masks that leak the covid virus through like water in a collander, before you get too upset I wear these totally inadequate masks to go with the flow in the full knowledge they are totally useless.

You may need to get your glasses checked as the rubbish's was not raked into that fine curve but was deposited there by the tide as it washed in the trash and as the tide receded it then left a nice deposit for the folks to clean up...
Agreed however it comes from somewhere. That amount of trash cannot be from fishing vessels and boats alone, he has a point re people depositing rubish in canals and rivers as that will be where it mostly comes from. This isn't limited to Thailand, a few years back I was going to/from work via boat from Kota Kinabalu, the level of plastic waste in the sea when we got within a few miles of the coast was depressing. If you visit anywhere in India it is then taken to a completely different level.

Common sense would suggest that the reason for banning the booze is to prevent Somchais from sitting in groups and drinking, then after killing some brain cells going off to do other inappropriate things which would spread the virus, such as returning to hug and kiss family members.
Without 'generalising' I think it's fair to say that the government mainly target low-income Thai males as the target group to control in this case. From experience, these guys are completely incapable of buying in advance and rationing the booze for even a few days, never mind a month. This is partly because they don't have the money, and mainly because they can't control themselves or trust their buddies not to cheat. They drink all they have until it's gone.
In this sense, the 2-day window and a new ban makes sense, allowing expats and more wealthy to stock up and ration.
You are asuming that no booze is available to purchase during the ban. I've been able to buy what I like when I like throughout the last month. If I can do this any Thai person regardless of status will be able to do the same. It was understandable during Songkrand, outwith that it just appears to be the actions of someone with a grudge who was bullied during their schooldays.

In reality, It looks like only the ones that can´t leave it alone for a short while are the ones that areIs anyone listening to the WHO now? Their parroting of Chinas lies and misinformation has done them untold harm.

One of an infinite number of theories. The most convincing I've seen is a 10-minute video that showed documents revealing the virus was developed in a Kentucky laboratory, engineered to make, I think, the SARS virus much more deadly and with no antidote. Just one of the ways that the human race is intent on destroying itself, which it surely will eventually. One of those involved was a Chinese scientist who then returned home to Wuhan with a sample of the virus. What happened there I guess is that it somehow escaped the lab. It's the only theory I've seen with documents to back it up.
Have you got a link to the 10 minute video regardin the Kentucky lab?

I thought it was just a theory but according to news reports this morning in the United States this virus is not naturally occurring and it was developed in a Wuhan laboratory. Something to do with research for finding vaccines not necessarily a bio weapon but regardless this was a man made error. This disaster was man made in China.
Of course it wasn't Anutin told us all exactly why it happened.
As an aside the bio lab in Wuhan is ran by the military, the French helped them build it, there may be more than just vaccines involved.

Holds others up, momentarily, but my safety has always been paramount. Always concerned about nits from headrests, and once found a really dirty wet tray table.(on TG)
Same here re the dirty tray. Flying back to LoS via Karachi from Muscat on TG. Someone had been sick on the food tray which hadn't been cleaned, absolutely disgusting. I called for the CSD and let her know my feelings in no uncertain terms. In fairness she moved me to a crew seat due to the flight being full.

I dont get the booze ban bit, what is the problem going to the store and buying a box of beer to take home while doing your shopping? What effect does sitting in your house drinking a beer have?

Everyone wears a mask when outside i.e. in the community. Wash hands often, best with soap for 20 sec, employ social distancing, try not to touch your nose (inside), your mouth and your eyes. A mask will help- remind you not to do this. 4 things that will help stop the spread and flatten the curve. I actually have safety glasses as this virus can be spread with droplets to the eyes although this is said to be less common. If everyone wears masks this would not be necessary. Bt60 insurance against someone with no mask and infected sneezing or coughing in my direction. Very small odds I know but Bt60 and Thais thinking I'm crazy, don't care. They thought I was crazy several wks back when I started wearing a mask.
No mention of atm possibly the most dangerous. I use the corner of another card to push the buttons or use the touch screen.
ATM's, a very valid point. I've been trying to avoid them where possible however part of my bi weekly shop is at Makro who insist on cash only. I will take your tip re using the corner of another card and sanitize with alcohol hand wash. Thank you.
