Have not flown on a Thai Airways flight in over 10 years! The last flight the stewardess burnt the back of my arm with the scolding hot metal tea urn while jabbering with person behind me. She was completely unapologetic until I got pissed off. But she was still not happy. Never ever ever again!!! As someone else pointed out...far far better Airlines to choose from.

It's not going to last. The wave of tourism after COVID was to be expected and all the airlines are cashing in on the bonanza. Many of the airlines that flew to Thailand have either not yet started up or if the have they are not anywhere near the amount of flights pre COVID. Cathay for instance ditched it regional airline Dragon Air completely retrenching pilots and staff and selling off aircraft. Thai air buying new aircraft is a good sign as it means increased flights and if they are doing it so is everyone else which will translate into an over supply and competition which will result in lower fares. Unless they come up with another pandemic but hopefully the majority of people will have learned from the first one but I ain't hopeful on that front.

He hasn’t actually been diagnosed with anything and has had numerous blood transfusions, something I personally would not want to be having in Thailand and especially Phuket! Government hospitals are not supposed to be as expensive as private hospitals so it’s very unclear how a 10 day stay in a communal ward with a blood transfusion could end up costing 400K baht! The reporter has not bothered to investigate and find out why that is before presenting it here. Who’s exactly suspects Leukaemia? The friends? His bed is blood soaked…well he is having daily blood transfusions. Leukaemia can be very easily misdiagnosed both ways and there are innumerable types. This is so badly reported and in my opinion skewered to look worse than it probably is to elicit sympathy for the donations and provide click bait on here. “The situation worsens as Penson anticipates another visit to A&E upon his return, piling on more financial woes.” A&E in the UK and any subsequent treatment is free in the UK so how is that piling on more financial woes. He must of had a return ticket to the UK, just reschedule your flight and you are in all the care that you will need free of charge.

I am pretty sure in Thailand if he choose to walk out without paying the police would be around to pick home up or detained at the airport until payment was settled. This is not the UK.
