I am going to say it again! Don’t these people read these news threads??? Would be conversation between criminals: Boss: “I know a guy, we are going to hit him for a whole heap of cash and then kill him.” Gang Member: “So where is this taking place.” Boss: “Thailand” Gang Member: Are you @&%#Ing nuts!!! Honestly, they can’t be a very bright bunch this lot. If you wanted to do anything in The Kingdom like that you need the following: 1. Not be a foreigner. 2. Have possession of Harry Potters Invisibility cloak. 3. Voldemort’s wand and a fabulous grasp of magic.

Well if Pita ever manages to get in that needs to be his no.1 job! Dismantle all that nonsense and make Thailand into a truly democratic country. Sacking of the entire military top brass would be No.2. Making a law that forbids any military coups and those found having started or taking part in one facing the death penalty should be no.3. As if that will ever happen! Pigs have a greater chance of flying! Ahhh well no country is perfect and all democracy’s are terribly flawed especially over time.

Pattaya Police Pledge to be an Organization the Public Can Trust
Dukeleto replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I am pretty sure that if you shut down the RTP in its entirety that crime in Thailand would more then halve over night. -

Foreign Man Shot in a Car in Phuket, Suspect Flees
Dukeleto replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
The BiB will have the perp in hand shortly. Obviously he doesn’t read news here. They find out eventually even without the victims help. They will be parading him around shortly with him reenacting the scene at the same spot. -
Hang about! So the only things in the room were empty beer bottles and six unused condoms??? Nothing else??? A suit case? Clothes? Shoes? A discarded belt? A hat? How about a bed, curtains, loose change and a wallet? Discarded socks? Was there a used condom perhaps? Or was that bit of reporting, as I suspect, thrown in there to lead the witness your honour? I really don’t think the unused condoms bear any relevance whatsoever to the story. Indeed if the deceased is married with a family and they are readying this would this not be rather distressing? I know my wife would be pretty darn upset! Poor poor journalism at its best! It may have been fact but it’s borderline trolling. Jury you are hereby ordered to disregard the statement on the condoms by the prosecutor, it is irrelevant.

We’ll see I guess. Can’t see the military releasing it’s stranglehold on Thai politics.- 65 replies

Thai man fined and sentenced to prison over craft beer review
Dukeleto replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
Even if you were immortal you still wouldn’t see that day! Sadly. -
I for one am amazed that anyone came at all considering the air-piracy being employed by airlines and the limited amount of flights. They are making everyone pay for their “losses” after taking in all the covid payouts. It’s a wonder anyone is bothering getting on a flight…I certainly am not until they return to normal.

Italian businessman killed as motorcycle taxi collides with forklift
Dukeleto replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
There probably are but you won’t hear about them here as there usually isn’t a foreigner involved. -
Italian businessman killed as motorcycle taxi collides with forklift
Dukeleto replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Seriously tragic! Health and safety Hub of Asia…not! Mind you to be fair all Thailands neighbouring states are pretty much in the same boat. You really have to keep ‘em peeled here as literally anything and everything is possible. On the whole though I prefer the non-nanny state approach and as such will accept the risks. -
Aussie dad gets into fistfight with monkeys on Ko Phi Phi in Thailand
Dukeleto replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
Exactly my thoughts! Well at least he won’t be putting his kids in danger with Monkeys again at least. I won’t let my kids near any dogs in Thailand for the very same reason. -
This is the root cause and where they should be concentrating their efforts. Severe jail terms for parents who sell or profit from the prostitution of their children would go a long way to preventing the children ever getting into that life. No young teenagers or younger wake up one morning and say “hey mum when are you going to rent me out for sex”. I would be prostituting my own <deleted> and that of my wife’s if that is what it took to put food on the table….not my kids! If you think I am wrong then please never consider having children. I suspect though some do simply to do this to their children as their retirement plan.

Thais Fuming Over British Ambassador To Cambodia’s ‘Khmer Dessert’ Photo
Dukeleto replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It’s simply a Thai dessert that identifies as a Khmer dessert. -
The devil is in the details, why is there no elaboration on the balcony fall and how that occurred. If this was the fault of the accommodation they were staying at then I am sure we would have read about it but the lack of that information (unless I have not read it) indicates there was stupidity, drunkenness or carelessness involved which any insurance company is going to baulk at paying out for.

Bill Heinecke: "Crazy to give vaccines to tourists"
Dukeleto replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What absolute twoddle! It seems Mr. Heinecke hasn’t stepped inside of an economy class cabin in a couple of decades so his view of tourism may be quite different to reality. Rather address the inadequate supply and availability of cheap airline tickets with shorter transit times for passengers to get to their chosen destinations. Vaccines and their availability or percentages of locals inoculated has smeg-all to do with peoples current concerns about travelling. Personally I think the current policy is smack on. No testing and no compulsory insurance. If people aren’t coming to Thailand it’s because they didn’t want to in the first place.- 98 replies

More changes. Compulsory health insurance now not required
Dukeleto replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Did nobody else pick up on this whopper scam subtly inserted in the middle of the report!!! If they have dropped the requirement why do they need to check and if they find that you don’t have health insurance you are pointed towards the desk that has coverage at 5000% higher rates than any other normal health insurance or you are refused entry!!! So the restriction has NOT been lifted but rather you are required to play a game of Russian roulette once you are already in Thailand when your choice is either get a flight out back out of the country and all the costs that involves plus cancelled accommodation etc etc or accept the fleecing they will give you for your health coverage. That’s the problem the world is too full of idiots to allow the breed to exist safely with human beings. It’s not the dogs fault it’s just being what it’s bred to do but it’s the idiots who own them that cannot keep them under control. Let’s face it, why else would you keep such a breed of dog? To show off? Give yourself the appearance of being tough or cool (aka an idiot)? If you want a loving dog well that’s every dog isn’t it so you don’t necessarily need a pit bull to satisfy that urge. If you must own this type of dog and it ends up hurting, maiming or killing someone the owner should be held accountable to the extent that they did it themselves and prosecuted accordingly and the dog destroyed immediately, which if you loved it might focus the owners attention on avoiding this outcome. This would go a long way to ensure only responsible owners end up keeping them. If my child was mauled or killed the owner would be far safer behind bars…forever!

Bank Mum On 2m Baht Claim For Seizing The Wrong House
Dukeleto replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Fabulous so if I cause an accident, which was unintentional as most are I don’t need to pay? Good luck with that one. The bank in question should be named and appropriately shamed! Undoubtedly when they are and there is a public outcry there will be loads of Wai-Ing and flower bouquets and fruit baskets all around.- 90 replies
