In July, I got my battery replaced on my Tag (old - 1996) on the 1st floor of Maya shopping center. It is the guy selling watches towards the back. We also had a old Seiko watch, but he could not replace that battery.
Thanks

Good afternoon,
I have a genuine low end Tag Heuer that needs the battery replaced. Last time it happened I got it done at the official Tag place in Bangkok but I am now located in Chiang Mai.
Can anyone reccomend a place in Chiang Mai?
Thanks

Doe you really believe these articles? the high season traffic in CNX is already super busy. Im guessing more and more Thais are visiting with their own transport. Thai familys surely make the perfect customers for restaurants, hotels etc. No complaining about being vegan, gluten free, no oil in food. Thai people seem to be the biggest spenders in the more upmarket places in Chiang Mai with many wealthy Bangkok people visiting regularly to take advantage of the outdoor pursuits such as trail running and cycling.

Has anyone got experience of sending belongings back to the UK? Looking to send two high end bicycles backs a few boxes of clothes. 50-60Kgs at a guess. Just looking for the simplest and most cost efficient method.
Thanks for any advice people.

GP4000II, are good choice in North Thailand in dry season, 4 seasons better in rainy season. If your in Chiang Mai prices 1700-1900. Arm cycles normally has the best prices.

Anybody going to Mae Sai on the 25th of Sep or before with private car? Would be willing to pay for fuel to save myself getting the bus.
Alternatively anybody want to share the costs of a private taxi on the the 25th of Sep.
Thanks
Jon

High end spenders will always go to Bangkok for shopping where all the international brands are available and 5 star luxury hotels with 5 star service. Phuket has always been famous for 5 star prices for 1 star services.
-
Sound advice Joe, I will try this option.
-
Thanks for the advice so I guess it will go in the new passport, I already have 30 days extension unfortunately.

Good morning,
I will receive my new UK passport back this week but looks like I will have 2-4 days overstay on my 60 day tourist visa due to renewing process.
Does anyone know if the overstay will go in my old passport with current visa or my brand-new one. I plan to fly to Vientiane for 5 days and return with another 60 days visa.
Thanks for any advice.

in downtown Chiang Mai

In downtown CM and basically the whole city peak traffic is pretty much all day long. Short journeys in a car always take a long time. However mountain front does have small restaurants, coffee shops, place to drink in walking distance.
Why not look for an airbnb property there and stay for a week first see if you like the area.
I used to have an issue getting a taxi there but now with GRAB you won't.
-
Depends on the individual. Where do you spend your time? I stayed there for 6 months before, nice pool, quiet location, good for walking/running etc.
Only downside was heading into old city and returning even though a short distance take along time due to CM's traffic lights.

RIP to this great character, having waved to the gentlemen as I came down the mountain I felt sad reading of his death. So many colourfull characters make Thai sporting events. Yes nothing is perfect here or anywhere else in the world but no need for sarcastic comments from keyboard warriors.
RIP

The Cambodian visa on arrival takes a full page (plus the entry and departure stamps, of course). Depending on the border crossing used, you might be able to use a Cambodian eVisa, applied for online in advance. This only uses about half a page, as I recall. Just to repeat myself, if planning to use an eVisa, ensure you are using a border crossing that allows them.
Thanks for the clarification Tim, looks like Malaysia is the only option for visa runs when short on pages.

Does anyone know if doing a border bounce in Cambodia is a full page taken by the Cambodian visa since Im running out of pages. Cheers people

My friend who has been using a mixture of 30 day visa exempts and 60 day tourist visas like myself just got a 60 day in Hong Kong and said it was easy process no questions asked. No proof of funds, flight home, hotel booking etc asked for.
But always a good idea to have these when entering Thailand just incase.

I agree if not short on time the green bus is fine I recently travelled to Nan by bus. Even if you don't book VIP seat its better using the VIP bus.
3500 Baht for 9 hours moving time is a very fair price. Basically 11 hours work for the driver, fuel costs etc
As opposed to Phuket/Samui where a 10 mins ride is 500++
-
I went two weeks ago, private taxi 3500 return. Very easy border crossing less than 10 mins.
-
I did I visa in/out in August at Mae Sai very straight forward no questions or requirements. Only allowed to do two land crossings per calendar year.
I would rather be in a car than a bus for obvious reasons, you can actually enjoy the scenery and stop where you like.
Thanks

Need to do a visa run to Mae Sai as visa expires on Monday 27th, anybody heading that direction I will pay for fuel?
Alternatively anyone have a number for a reliable driver that can take me, Ive had enough of buses to last me a lifetime.
Any help would be appreciated.
-
Thanks Briggsy, I think its no problem to enter Laos from this point unless you have a motorbike seems an issue. Mae Sai is great no hassle at all. Ill report back my findings
-
Thanks for the reply UbonJoe, I am just wanting to get a visa exempt entry 30 days I have not done any previous land crossings this year. Strange how no one has done this border bounce. Nan has a immigration office I will ask there and report back.

Advice needed, I am currently in Nan city. Has anybody done a in/out at Huai Kon border crossing returning immediately to Thailand ? If its possible I would hire a driver.
Not seen any definite information only people crossing with the purpose of visiting Laos.
Thanks
Jon
