  1. Thanks all.

Dumb question - can someone tell me where in BKK is the Chinese embassy (especially the Visa section)? Their website does not display an address, and their phone number won't answer.

And the name of a good, low-cost hotel nearby?

    Thanks,

    Paul

    China Embassy

57 Ratchadapisek Rd, Dindang, Bkk 10310

    Tel: 245 7030-45

  2. I was not aware of that article, but here is a link to it http://pattayatoday.net/news/latest-edition/british-embassy-changes-retirement-rules/

(I hope it's OK to post that link)

Pontious, you are quite right, Barry is saying that there are other consulates in Pattaya which will provide the letter for Brits - and the letter will be accepted by Immigration.

The British Embassy charge approximately 48 GBP (including postage). Apparently, the other consulates charge much less.

Anyone know which consulates are doing this?

The Only countries that have consulates in Pattaya are:

    Austria #

    Norway

    Sweden #

    # Members of the European Union.

  3. There is secure parking for motorbikes next to the terminal. 30 baht per day. If you are facing the entrance to the Pattaya Bus Terminal on Pattaya Nua, it's just to the left. Drive in and go toward the back. I've used several times and it's a nice choice.

Thanks for that, will go there and check access times.

  4. Open your web page and press the PrtSc key.

    Open microsoft Paint.

    Select the 'Paste' tab.

Select the 'Select' tab and identify the area you want to save with the select tool.

Select the 'crop' tool and save as jpg.

  5. Been following this thread with interest even though I'm not a big football fan.

Re. the last post, Astro Supersport 2 show some Championship matches and it is currently on Sophon. Schedule here :-

Re. the Premiership, Setanta (Ireland) have rights to broadcast & I have seen some bars showing this channel. Am unsure as to how it is obtained though, I would guess a subscription to their online site, hence the internet + a pretty good download speed.

    Thanks for the info

Have checked it out and this weekend Sophon Cable are showing 4 live BPL matches.

    More info here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/660394-live-epl-football-on-sophon-cable-this-weekend/

  6. Looks as if we may have got lucky in Pattaya as Sophon Cable will be televising live games on two channels. Don't know if it will be all season, certainly hope so.
