Hey Mauiguy90,
Thanks very much for your reply and the info you have given me...I will have a search on Google to find out a bit more about the place you mention - SK Mansion. It sounds handy also being close to Thonglo BTS. Hopefully I can find a few pictures showing the apartments interior etc...I'm not too fussy as will just be there for the 6 weeks so as long as it is clean and in a decent location it should be ok.
If anyone else has any further tips on any other apartments complexes in the area would really appreciate any info.
Thanks again for your help.

Hey everyone,
I am hoping someone will be able to give me a bit of advice regarding renting an apartment in the Prakanong area of Bangkok for a period of around 6 weeks. The area I am looking at in particular is near 920 Sukhumvit Road, around the UNESCO building if anyone here is familiar with that location.
Could any of you in Bangkok please tell me if it is possible to rent a decent apartment around that area? - nothing luxurious as I am only looking to spend around 10,000 BAHT per month if possible (a bit more if needed though). Is this a good area for apartments/staying in for a short period of time, or should I be looking at another location close by which would be more suitable? I would like to be near to a BTS station if possible too.
Thanks very much for your help and advice.

In my opinion Air Asia is one of the best things to happen in terms of travel in SE Asia. For someone such as myself, you are able to score some real bargains when travelling from Australia to KL, and then onwards to a variety of destinations in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia etc. The route from Chiang Mai to Phuket is one which will only prove more popular as time goes on as it gives people a great opportunity to take a quick trip down to the islands rather than having to pay the traditionally more expensive fares offered by the larger, non-budget airlines.
I booked ahead a couple of months ago and got a great fare from CM to Phuket, so yeah, hopefully Air Asia will keep the route going on a long term basis. It's ridiculous some of the mega cheap seats you can get when they have their online sales, especially when you book a few months ahead of your planned travel dates.

Great read and a very interesting topic given the issues faced in many areas of LOS in regard to unwanted street dogs. Not too sure about our canine friends riding the BTS in Bangers though heh
Thanks for posting the link Jose.

Wow, am insanely envious of all you peeps in Thailand at the moment. Over here in Brisbane, Australia, the Rambutans have also suddenly started to appear on the supermarket shelves. They are currently a real 'steal' at AU $14 per kilo, which is round about THB 417 p/kilo!
I think a lot of the rambutans sold here in Oz are actually grown up in Northern Qld, which has a similar tropical climate to Thailand. Either way, it costs a small fortune to indulge in them over here, while you guys are literally drowning in cheap as chips rambutans in LOS
