AOT estimates one billion baht in compensation to be demanded from ex-PAD co-leaders
By Thai PBS
BANGKOK: -- The compensation for damages from the blockade of the Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports to be demanded from 13 former core leaders of the People’s Alliance for Democracy by the Airports of Thailand was estimated to amount to about a billion baht, including 522 million baht in principal plus 7.5 interest rate for a period of nine years.
AOT managing director Nitinai Sirisamatthakarn said Monday (Sept 25) he expected the company and the former PAD core leaders would have to enter into mediation process to be handled by the Legal Execution Department.
Although AOT is yet to calculate the actual amount of compensation to be paid by the ex-PAD core leaders, he estimated the figure would be around one billion baht based on the 522 million baht set by the court and 7.5 percent interest thereon since December 3, 2008.

Pigs will be landing at Swampy long before these guys get any money from the PADdies.

Were not talking about a hugh sentence here--- if the lady really believes in what she stands for--(like her counter part in Burma) then go to jail, the world would be on your side. Her brother only got 2 years---he is possibly thinking he may have made the wrong move now in legging it.
Just a few who stayed---- and went on to be the leaders & written in history
Aung San Suu
Mahatma Gandhi
Benazir Bhutto
Lech Walesa
Nelson Mandela
The five names above are giants in the political pantheon, unfortunately, Yingluck Shinawatra, although much adored by many in Thailand, is nowhere near that class. Her situation is not of world importance or significance.
Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma (The Lady) stood for democracy against the military junta, served prison time and years of house arrest (21 years). Nobel Prize.
Mahatma Gandhi fought for the independence of India from British rule. Assassinated 1948. (Nobel Prize never awarded)
Benazir Bhutto, Pakistani P.M. involved in corruption scandals. Assassinated 2007
Lech Walesa, Polish president and politician, headed solidarity movement. Nobel Prize.
Nelson Mandela. South African prisoner (27 years), politician and President. Lead the fight against apartheid. Nobel Prize.
I agree with you, that had she stayed and "faced the music"' , she may well have achieved a minor martyrdom in Thailand. She was always Thaksin's proxy and probably a nice person in private, but unfortunately for her, she will go down in history as a sister of Thaksin.
IMO, She did not run away, she was told to leave, or else!

On the policeman's wrist, where it belongs.

'Alisa claimed that she was not a drugs boss. She said she was hired by a Laotian drug boss to store the drug and deliver it to clients in Bangkok as ordered by the boss.'
Will Alisa sing?

The Kwae Noi is a tributary of the Nan, joining it at Phitsanulok town.
Nan river, outside our home, is very high and after this morning's storm will be even higher. If the Chao Phraya Dam is holding back water to prevent flooding up north, there's going to be some serious flooding downstream in the next few days..If not, Bangkok's going to take an even bigger bath.

No but she was "on drugs" when the arrest happened. I imagine the defense will claim she wasn't of 'clear mind' during her initial statement and move to declare it inadmissible.
At which point they'll still have to explain having possession of a large quantity of drugs, and having a scale (which is enough by itself to indicate intent to sell).
On the face of it, they're screwed.
Realistically, these are hisos (sort of) with good connections. And she's a pretty girl so sentencing will be light. My guess is she gets a slap on the wrist of 18 months, which gets reduced to 6 with tears and "health problems" in the kook.
He'll do 2x that, tops. They'll both need to pay some fines. And they'll also need to pay some "fines".
Thank you counselor, done and dusted then. Next case.

I am sure if weepy little Amy is having bad dreams in jail, she might ask Yuyee how she's coping after being sentenced to 15 years for far less than Amy.

You dont know what she did before she met you. Ask her if she ever has been to pattaya. LOL. "You cant turn a HO! INTO A HOUSEWIFE"!
Your post is redolent of bovine excrement. I personally know the person in question and yes, she has been to Pattaya, as a visitor, and most certainly is NOT , nor ever was a BG.
However, you display your ignorance by stating that you cannot turn a BG into a housewife.Thousands have indeed managed that transition and lived comfortable lives to tell the tale.

Too often the Hi-So's walk out of this easily in Thailand............. I HATE drugs.... 'druggies' ........ and 'drug sellers............
I hope that 'farang dad' don't have enough money for the cops......... and she does her time (along with the boyfriend)...........
We need a few more lessons for the other Hi-So to see that you can't buy your way out of everything..... But with the law-enforcement and courts in Thailand can we expect her/him to do the time ((or just pay (or have it paid for them) the price 'to the cops'? ???????))
'Too often the Hi-So's walk out of this easily in Thailand..'
Your point is well taken, but in fact she is not HiSo in the true sense as it is known in Thailand. "Boss" the Red Bull killer is from a HiSo family because they have billions derived from their energy drink empire. Most of the "new money" billionaires here, like the Shins etc are worshiped because of their cash and assets. There is also the "old" money, I believe they are referred to as "amart" with certain regal connections etc.
Young Amelia, Amy is in the "TV celebrity" class, the supreme matriarch being IMO Kim Kardashian.
Basically celebrity trash that thinks they are above the lowing herd.

Do you think this doesn't happen in India and other Asian poor countries, African countries, anywhere poor women have miscarriages. An awful thing to do, but take it easy on the whole Thai nation.

What the BBC failed to mention was just how so many foreigners meet Thai country girls in the first place. They certainly do not have conducted tours for foreign tourists to the villages of Isaan or rural Thailand.
They fail to mention that the influx of older farangs marrying younger Thai women who already have 1 or more children by a failed relationship with a Thai man gives those families a chance for a better future, since "used" Thai women are less or un desirable to Thai men.
One previos poster stated that"his wife supports him" and good for him I say if he can get away with it, unfortunately that also seems to be the prevailing attitude among many Thai men in rural areas who prefer to laze around playing Hi Lo and quaffing lao khao rather than working. Their wives meanwhile run the homes and hold down jobs doing whatever they can. I say many, not all, Thai men are lazy.
