Jai Dee
504 CCTVs to be installed in BKK The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) spent a budget of 66 million baht to install close circuit televisions (CCTVs) across the capital, with an aim to prevent criminal activities and boost security. Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin assigned the BMA Foreign Affairs Division to coordinate with Seoul, Korea and the British Embassy on CCTVs’ security measures. Mr. Apirak said 504 CCTVs will be installed in important places, shady areas and over 100 traffic intersections. The installations in important places should be done by six months and each district director will survey for the risky places in their respective community areas. All CCTVs installations will be completed within this year. The Traffic and Transportation Department is currently surveying the main routes to determine the new places for the CCTVs to be installed. Some of the main routes include Sukhumvit, Wireless, Ploenchit, Ratcha Prasong, and Khao San roads. The Government House, the Parliament, embassies, shopping malls, entertainment venues, and the Victory Monument are also being assessed.
