lonewolf99
What I do not understand is he is in charge of an army holding guns to the heads of the populous ( figuratively ) and the guys with the finger on the trigger of the guns are Thais.... I guess mostly from rural villages and towns......if they all just walked out of the barracks and caught a bus home to mummy the Junta would collapse.....surely ?

What you write, Lonewolf99, is so true. Sadly, what is happening to Thailand is being allowed to happen by the Thais (with some honourable exceptions) who go along with it all - in greater or lesser degree. Without the active or implicit consent of the Thais themselves (and remember that generally in law, 'silence means consent'), the junta could never get away with what it does - trashing human rights, civil liberties and human dignity on a daily basis. If people don't stand up to tyranny, then tyranny will run all over them with reckless abandon. The Thais through their pusillanimity have made it all so very, very easy for the junta ... It's the NLA that votes 190+ to zero on almost everything - and they're just voting the way Big P wants. That and article 44 would sail the bill through within hours. What utter rubbish this guy speaks. 2

chama
No way Prayut would have ever let the election take place this year. He needs more time to place his people in the right places to ensure he has a convincing win.
