webfact
NARIT encourages people to watch approaching G-Z comet BANGKOK, 10th September 2018 (NNT) - People in Thailand will have the chance to watch an approaching comet, known as Giacobini-Zinner or G-Z, in the night of September 10th and the early hours of the next day as it is traveling closest to the earth. Supharerk Kharuehanon, chief of the astronomical services of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand, said the comet could be seen in the sky over this country with naked eyes. To get a clearer image, people are advised to watch it through binoculars or a telescope provided that the sky is not cloudy. G-Z comet is a periodic comet in the solar system, discovered by Michel Giacobini from Nice, France, who observed the constellation of Aquarius on December 20th, 1900. -- nnt 2018-09-

That shack is on our land and the entrance fee will be discounted to only 100 baht tonight to see this "pie in the sky" event. By the way the woman and baby have since done a runner when she saw some soldiers in a humvee. Think they were after the gold.

connda
Considering we haven't seen the sky without cloud cover for about 12 weeks, comet and meteorite watching tends to be a pastime that isn't coming to our neighborhood any time before the end of the rainy season.
