April 29, 200718 yr I recently switched from Outlook Express to Mozilla Thunderbird and love it. I would like to set up Thunderbird so that my message folders are located in a folder that I back up regularly to an external drive. I have not been able to figure how to do that. I would be very grateful if anyone could advise me on the best way to accomplish that task.

April 29, 200718 yr Actually Crocket, your idea is best. Backup everything and store the file on the external drive. You can create a message rule to copy certain or all messages to a separate folder but it's more complicated and gives you less protection than the one-click operation from Mozbackup.
