June 2, 200718 yr I purchased a Nokia BH801i headset recently while I was visiting Thailand. The box with the instructions printed on the side was accidentally thrown out. I have finally figured out how to get the phone to see the headset but I cant figure out the passkey/code that you're supposed to put in. I have tried "0000", "1111", or nothing -- just pressing "enter". Nothing seems to work. If anyone knows the proper code, I would be grateful.

This wasn't hard to find... go here to read the BH801 user's guide.

This is the BH-801 not the BH-801i, they look different and the steps to initiate the pairing are different as well.
June 6, 200718 yr I had a similar problem last year. The deafult pass phrase should be 0000. So you are doing that bit right. Where I came unstuck was my phone's software was incompatable with the headset. Nokia recommneded a software upgrade which I did. Not an easy thing. After that the headset connected to the phone but I could no longer make calls as the cell company I was with used non standard software. In the end had to take the headset back and pay for a reflash of my old software - complete headache. Now I always take my phone to the shop and check any blue tooth gizmos can connect to it. I would suggest you give nokia support a call/mail but make sure to tell them what carrier you are with.
June 13, 200718 yr Author Ok, figured it out. The button sequence I was told to do to pair it was screwing it up. For anyone else, here's what you do: 1) Hold the main button down. The blue light will come on, go out then come on again. Now you release it..Should be a slow blink. 2) Hold the + volume button down (its the one pointing away from the ear speaker). After approximately 8 seconds, the blue light will come on steady. Release the button. 3) Set your phone to discover. Passcode is 0000. K I had a similar problem last year.
