hello highdiver, care to dive into more reality or is the kool aid still delicious?

"Hate-Thaksin" is the only campaign that General Sonthi Boonyaratglin has successfully run so far.

In a democracy, political parties are the means through which the aspirations and mandates of the electorate are represented. The Generals in Thailand have adopted a methodical approach to destroy the political parties.

The sooner Hate-Thaksin campaign reaches the saturation point, Southern Thailand crisis will prevail over. Therefore, there are concious and concerted efforts to keep Thaksin Shinawatra controversy alive.

Another inaccurate and poorly written propoganda piece .......

for example .....

the coup leader and de facto ruler, promised to hold of the next general elections by October 2007 but no indications has so far been given either by General Sonthi or his proxy government.

or leaving out that party officials bribed other groups to contest/rig the elections ....

or leaving out that the Demo's were also indicted ....

utter crap ... presented under the guise of respectability

I just hope that the situation will not escalate any further. The Thai people do not deserve this.

And I truly believe if the most bad scenario will occur, that these same Thai people will not allow this.

It just will not happen. Lets hope it will not come that far.

:D:o

And tijnebin,

I just hope that the situation will not escalate any further

that's what normal moral decent people all hope for. Unfortunately, as we all can see, there are a lot of bitter pathetic lowlife's living in Thailand who are hoping otherwise.

In a scant disregard for national and international outrage, on 15 July 2005, Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra government submitted the “Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situation, B.E. 2548” to replace the existing martial law and grant the Prime Minister absolute power to declare a state of emergency.

hmmm the report from that same group on Das Leader Thaksin was far far more scathing .......

the outline

The Banana Republic of Thailand:

Rule of the jungle in the name of emergency

Embargoed for: 20 July 2005

1. INTRODUCTION

2. ANALYSIS OF THE EMERGENCY DECREE

a. Subversion of parliamentary democracy

b. Supremacy of the military

c. Restriction on freedom of movement and the lack of guarantees against forced relocations of civilians

d. Restriction on the freedom of assembly and expression

e. Legalising arbitrary arrest and detention

f. Attachment and destruction of property etc

g. No right to privacy

h. Denial of the freedom to leave the country

i. Legalising man-made humanitarian crisis through economic embargo

j. Legalising incommunicado detention

k. Prime Minister is above the Constitutional Court!

l. Legalising Impunity

3. RECOMMENDATIONS

This new org doesn't seem to go far back enough in its history to include the extrajudicial killings etc ......

but it IS worthy to note that they have never written a 'briefing paper' on Thailand to India's human rights department ... OR to the UN
