Lady Boys & Crime.

I have been reading, with a great amount of fascination, Pattaya news clippings for some time now.

Between articles that look like they are written by high school students & 1st assignment freelancers, there has been many a laugh at their versions of the stories, more so at the portrayal.

However, I wanted to ask a question, which some Pattayians might be able to answer.

Why is it that lady boys appear to be reposible for half the crimes reported (commited?) in Pattaya?

Are they truly criminally pre-disposed?

Or are they a persicuted group of scapegoats?

Replies appreciated & thanx,

Soundman.

Soundman, I've heard that the biggest reason for the crime is that their drug and surgery costs are so huge the only way they can pay for them is through this type of crime.

Not available in the 30B health scheme? :o

It's a little known fact that Lady Boys have an extra chromosome, the 'crime chromosome.' Basically, they are programmed from birth to commit horrific crimes, and it is a tribute to their character that most of the crimes that seem to emerge are petty robberies and butt pinching.

I would say for the most part it either tittilates the readers .... or in the case we see in TV.com so often ... plays up to prejudices. :D

There are LBs working in all facets of life in Asia other than prostitution. Some are very well regarded by Thais in the same social class as them. I think most are shunned by Thai society. The feeling that there are many LBs in Pattaya is probably because they can be accepted there but always with some reservations. Maybe they do the crime because they can but also because they are short of dough due to their services not being as highly requested.

i read an article in the bangkok post, maybe the guru magazine, that read ladyboys are classed as insane when they have to go for national service.

basically, they get labelled as lunatics as soon as they reach their army/navy post (nad they get rejected). this stays with them on their record which they then need to to find a job.

ie..they have to show this document when taking a job interview.

kinda explains why so many are selling "extra" services or why they commit to crime.

not sure how true however

There are no newspapers in Pattaya only purveyors of toilet tissue decorated with typeface. So it is likely that any "reporting" you come across about the town is to be taken with a pinch of salt. As for reporters from elsewhere? They get their info by going through the bins in Pattaya toilets!

Lady Boys & Crime., Why?

Notorious LB in PTY..

I know there are infamous LB in PTY.

In my opionin

1) 30% of LB are ignored by their families because they are so-called abnomal

2) no support by family..no education..

3) even LBs have education, There are less seats for them to work when compare with straight people(although LBs are smart)

4)what's next? prostitute and robber is easier to get $$.....shallow yeah?

5)LBs need to eat so some of them do as (4)

6) Notorious striaght are more than LB anyway

7)where is the place suit for desperated LBs? Sin city? >>PTY

8) ditto

I've got to say I like Ladyboys, just not in the biblical sense. In my experience they are fun and always up for a laugh and a drink.

Treat them with respect and you will have no problems.

Also I have found them to be incredibly loyal and more than once they have pulled my arse out of the fire when I was drunk and being stupid and potentially getting myself in to trouble.

Just my experience...

They're blokes in dresses and there's lots of them, can't think of a better disguise really.

I think it's a combination of things;

The P4P scene attracts those who have already decided to cross a line by selling their services.

As being a Ladyboy makes them "different" they tend to socialise with each other - breeding a pack mentality.

They have higher basic expenses than an equivalent BG (Hormones, Surgery AND usually recreational drugs, as well as good old fashioned booze......a bloke in a dress will still more likely drink more than a BG!).........and earn less per punter.

They resent the fact that they are selling their backsides for a few Baht, and enjoy the opportunity of getting one over the punters. (a feeling Not IME confided only to fellas in Dresses withing the P4P scene).

Being blokes they find it easier to act on the notion that Mr "rich" Farang has it coming. (whatever "It" is provided by opportunity).

Boredom. :D (do folk have any idea how boring and repetitively dull it is attracting punters in the P4P scene :o:D )

Everyone has it about right. They are shunned by society, few job opptys

Most are just men that look feminine so they dress like women, makeup... for money. Don't tell the guys at Pattaya-Chat they all seem to have major woodies for the creatures.

Real transexuals have real jobs and they work, live as women. The guys trolling Beach road and the few clubs are just trouble.

Every bar girl I know who has anything to do with them ends up ripped off. Steal everything from the room, steal phone, borrow money...

You will be looked at as a freak if you drag one about with you. Dont believe me? Ask any Thai what they think of them.

Having said that .... saw a stunner last night. 2nd road/Soi 9 (ladyboy bar I pass on way up to Soi 7-8). It was hot. ;-)

Pure speculation, but I'd say there are a plethra of katoeys about and not many customers for the services they offer. Thus when people are desperate they resort to crime. :o

but if there are not many customers why according to other forums are more lb bars/clubs opening in Pattaya? on some of the posts i think bar owners/gg owners were/are becoming more concerned about the growth of lbs in pattaya and the effect it will have on their businesses?
