Bangkok's Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a heavy rain warning for today, 19 July. City residents are advised to prepare for wet conditions, and those living in hillside areas should stay vigilant against potential flash floods.

Weather forecasts predict a strong monsoon trough will affect the upper northern and northeastern regions, combined with a moderately strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Southern Thailand, Central Thailand, Eastern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. These conditions will result in heavy and potentially very heavy rain across several parts of the country today.

**Impact Areas and Caution Notices**

Northern, northeastern, and eastern regions may experience accumulating rain, with the risk of sudden flooding and flash floods. Those in hilly and low-lying areas should be extra cautious.

**Marine Warnings**

In the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves are expected to be two to three metres high, with thunderstorms pushing wave heights above three metres. Seafarers are advised to navigate carefully, and small boats should remain ashore. The lower Andaman Sea will also experience waves around two metres, with thunderstorms causing even higher waves.

**Regional Weather Snapshot**

- **Northern Thailand**: Expect thunderstorms in 70% of the area, covering provinces like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Phayao. Temperatures will vary from 24°C to 34°C.

- **Northeastern Thailand**: Thunderstorms will affect 80% of the area, including provinces like Udon Thani and Buriram. Temperatures will range from 23°C to 32°C.
