Buying gold is not a good idea; she will sell it if she needs money. We tend to think of rings, necklaces. etc as sentimental objects of love, they don't understand this, and will just sell it when they need money. I bought a really nice, expensive Swiss watch for my wife, and she wasn't interested. I buy her flowers sometimes, this interests her a little more, but not to the extent that farang women appreciate. She has bought me red roses a couple of times, and this touches me.

So what would be really special to buy for a Thai lady. I've been with my wife 8 years and I'm still trying to work it out  :o

PS: Funnily enough, my wife really loves the cheap Casio mans watch I gave her once. I think this has sentimental value to her, and is much more practical than the Swiss one for day to day wear. Aren't Thai women strange?

Hi there,

agree 100% with bkkcruzer!!! I bought some flowers over the Internet and sent it to my wife! She was so touched by heart, that she immediate went to photograph to make some nice photos! Also jealous faces all around!

Don't agree with the opinion, that gold has no sentimental value for thaiwomen. I bought a small but very nice necklace with a small heart of gold. My wife never ever would sell this. I remember a day she forgot it in the bathroom. She felt very sorry, because she thought, that it was lost.

Only Thai girls who are not in a serious or long standing relationship would sell their gold gifts, ie if the girl thought she would not see you again ect.

A one baht necklace is a simple not too expensive gift and a simble of well being within the thai's, ok you could splash out on a 3 baht necklace but depends on how long you have known your lady!
