meadish_sweetball
hi everyone...there's a very common plant in thailand called pak kring / pak king. does anyone know the english name of this plant? many thanks sbk's guess is good - ginger is the only one I am familiar with that has a name resembling what you wrote. Ginger is ขิง in Thai. But there may well be others. Transcribed Thai without tone indications makes it very difficult to guess unless one is a native speaker - the second word could theoretically be written in at least 30 different ways. If you could give the Thai spelling I'd be able to answer within a minute... a picture or a description of its features, or how it is used, would also help. eefoo
Personally I've never heard of 'king' (ginger) being prefixed with 'pak' (vegetable) before in Thailand. I have no other suggestions to offer though.
sbk
Me neither but that was the only one I could think of.
