I've been to Bang Kwang to visit an American prisoner.  I got his name from the U.S. Embassy.  He said the visiting area, with green grass and flowers, is very different from what is on the other side.  The American was in a cell with a guy from Amsterdam and a Brit.  All were doijng life.  I asked how I could get to see the inside.  They told me "take a couple of kilos through the Airport".  Their attitude was great.  There were 3 other visitors with me and we didn't stop laughing the whole two hours.  It was an amazing experience.

I don't mean the prisoners took their confinement lightely.   Their ability to show us how serious their situation was, by keeping a positive attitude, was what I meant.
