Phil_ne_uk
For my Sponsorship Declaration, can anyone tell me if 6 months building society statements would suffice as proof of ability to support my girlfriend for her vv? The minimum account balance at present is about £15K As I’m self employed, showing details of healthy earnings is a bit difficult. Phil_ne_uk
Can anyone tell me if my photocopied documents need to be notarized or certified? I understand these are two different things. I’m told certified is for national use with the UK and notarized is for international proof. the scouser
There is no requirement to have documents notarised but if you are to provide the visa officer with copies as proof then it's advisable. Go to any notary public (often a solicitor) and he/she will make a copy of the original documents and sign them as being genuine. The visa officer should accept 6 months' building society statements as evidence of your ability to support your g/f providing that the money in there hasn't been deposited in one or two large hits. However, if you keep accounts then either provide a copy of these or a letter from your accountant certifying how much money you earned in the last financial year. Scouse.
